One Saturday the big girls decided to make jam our of our "pluots" (plums grafted with apricots). They actually tasted sweet this year instead of sour! I'm not sure why but the jam turned out very nicely!
While they were doing that the little girls were making cookies. They wanted to do chocolate crinkle and that was a mistake! :P They've gotten so good at making cookies by themselves that I went outside and later came back to a floor covered in powdered sugar.
My second mistake was telling them they needed to clean up without specifying that I meant vacuum. They just started mopping and made a STICKY mess! We ended up mopping the floor EIGHT different times and it was STILL a little sticky! We used our spray mop multiple times, we tried a bucket of hot water, we used paper towels...then went back to the spray mop...so so sticky!
And after all that the cookies didn't even turn out. They melted into a giant sheet, but they did still taste good. Either way we won't be making crinkle cookies again. :P They did have a great time dancing to music in the kitchen with their sisters!
We had our Back to School Ice Cream Social with our homeschool group at the park. I was too busy visiting with the other moms to get pictures. This is the only one I got.
We had a family video game night on one of the rare evenings we were all home. They mostly played Mario Kart racing.
There was LOTS of excited screaming! I was wishing for earplugs. :P
I found the leftover ear piercing kit from when we did extra holes for Bug and Boo and Peanut wanted me to do 2nds and 3rds on her ears.
The little ones have gotten into Calico Critters again and have been spending hours up there. One day they came and asked me for my phone and then showed me how they made a church complete with a pianist and the Pastor holding a bible. So cute!
