The Movies!

We rarely get to go to the movies since there is never anything good and/or appropriate playing so when I heard about a Plugged In approved movie we decided to take the girls. It was a Saturday at noon and no one was there so the girls took over the theater!

They were having a ball and just starting to organize a "show" when the previews started. Haha.

Ready for the show!

This little one cracked me up...kicked back and relaxin'.

It was a cute movie called Camp Hideout and we enjoyed it. We have been crazy busy and had a hard time squeezing it into the calendar but I'm glad we found the space to stick it in!

Pool Party

The girls got invited to a pool party the other day!

We hadn't been to this pool since before Covid so it was like a brand new discovery!

They had so much fun swimming and playing with their friends for two hours!

Then they all changed and sat down for presents and cake.

 Happy birthday to you...

They had extra party hats so they started putting on more than one. Funny girl.

It was a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Leftover Thursday

 Lou's signature move.

We got a new Lego "painting" and Lou did a square almost entirely by herself! She is getting really good at following the directions!

We had some friends over for dinner. The S family and The M family who recently moved back from Montana. The kids all played volleyball after dinner until it got too dark to see.

Did you know wasps like carrots?! I never would have believed it if we hadn't actually witnessed them gnawing down the carrot tops!

These funny girls are always putting on a show for us.

They crack me up. I love how much fun they have together.

Happy Thursday! :)

Painting and a Hunt!

The youth group had their annual scavenger hunt in the city and Daddy drove a car full of girls! The G family is back in town on furlough so their girls were able to join in the fun! Bug sent me a few of their pictures.

They had SO much fun and loved every minute of running around.

I don't know how they went to so many places in just a couple of hours. They must have been running the whole time.

But it paid off because they won for the second time in a row, for Daddy and Boo, third time for Bug!

Meanwhile the littles and I were at home. My project for that weekend was painting all the hand and stair rails on the playhouse/shed. It took me EIGHT hours on Saturday and FIVE hours on Sunday! Phew. It wasn't hard, just time consuming. I still wasn't finished by dinner time so I made the girls a PJB and had them come sit on the deck while I did the last of it. They were so funny...every time I would scoot my ladder over to a new spot they would scoot their plates down the deck so by the time they were finished they had moved about 15 feet.

It was a long weekend but it was worth it! It turned out beautifully! And I love the little doors that T made for the shed. He spent the following weekend installing racks, hanging brackets, and getting it all organized inside. We can finally check this big project off the list!

Volleyball!

Both Bug and Boo are doing volleyball this year! Boo wasn't too sure about starting out as a beginner in volleyball but she is so naturally athletic and competitive that by the second week she was already doing really well!

She was given the position of setter and is the only one on JV which means she plays the whole game and never gets subbed out.

Here is their first game. Grandma and Grandpa met us there since it was one of the closer ones to their house.

Both girls are really good servers and rarely miss.

It's so strange to me that Bug is an upperclassman this year and will be a senior next year! Her high school career is going way too fast in my opinion!

She is a Varsity starter...I think her position is called a side wing...and it is so fun to watch her play!

I love how excited the girls get when they score a point.

Their enthusiasm is contagious.

One night they had Varsity game only and Boo got pulled up to play. It was really fun watching them play a sport together! I think they have only done that one other time with softball seven years ago.

 Go girls go!

Canning

After seeing an ad in the paper T decided that he wanted to try canning peaches and pears this year so he and Peanut went out one Saturday and brought back 4 boxes of fruit. Then we spent about five hours prepping and canning. Peanut was a trooper and helped for hours. Lou took a bunch of pictures. Here are a couple that weren't too blurry to see. :)

She and Peaches entertained us while we worked.

And later Peaches helped peel pears.

It actually wasn't too bad and we got a lot of reward! Our pantry is well stocked for winter and we have already been enjoying some yummy fruit!
