Lou Laughs! - Part 15

 May 29th 2025

Lou was talking to Noni. She was telling her about the flowers that we had planted. "We planted daisies and some plants that start with a z....I think they are called zippers." Noni replied, "Zinnias?" Lou: "Yeah that's it! And we planted some really healthy looking dandelions." Noni, "Umm. Marigolds?" Lou: "Yeah!"

June 2nd

Bug had just got engaged the night before and Lou was full of questions. "Will you still live here or will you live with the S family (F's parents)?" Bug: "No. I will get my own house with F." Lou: "But how will we find you?!?"

 June 21st

We were outside and heard a bird singing. Peaches said sweetly, "I like your song little birdies!" Lou yelled, "Sing more!" The birds continued singing and she turned to me in surprise, "Mommy! They listened! Do they know us?"

July 16th

Daddy and the girls were going to play some baseball. He said, "Who wants to come?" She yelled, "Wait for me! I gotta get my mitten!" as she ran off to find her baseball mitt.

 September 15th

Lou: "What's a tailbone?" Peaches, "The bone in your bum." Lou: "There's a bone in a bum?!? I thought it was just floppy!"

Rock n' Roll!

This is just a typical day in our house. Loud. Hilarious. Chaotic. Lou dancing on the counter. Peaches listening to a song on Alexa and sitting down to pick it out on the piano. I wish I could play by ear the way she and Peanut do! Sometimes these two hooligans drive me crazy, but I know in just a few years this house will be way too quiet so I'm trying to enjoy the madness while I can. Haha. :)

Egg Hunt!

Daddy, Bug, and F hid all the eggs and Jax started the hunt early. :P He loves to find eggs and is really good at breaking them open without cracking the plastic. He found three before the girls even came out and about a dozen over the week following Easter. Haha.

The girls were dying to come out and were off like a shot as soon as Daddy said go.

Lou's hair is getting so long!!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this year!

Even Mama came out to walk the patio in the sunshine while the kids hunted eggs.

Peanut cleared out the whole south section of the property.

Lou wanted me to come with her and help her find eggs. She found most on her own but we did play hot and cold a few times for some she missed.

Daddy hid a whole bunch in the shop this year.

One was in the hole above the door lock here but fell inside when Peaches tried to grab it. :)

Bug made sure that the girls had to climb Jeffry the tree to get some of the eggs!

Jax was hot since he hasn't fully shed his winter coat yet.

We've had two beautiful, white and tan barn owls in the North lean-to all winter, but I think they might have moved on because I haven't seen them in a few weeks.

Bug and F hid them everywhere, including under lumber and in pipes.

Lou was excited to find her "big" egg with $5.

I think Bug took these next two pictures.

Cute girls!

Peanut took a candy break on the tractor.

A successful hunt!

Then it was inside to sort the loot!

Lou was cracking her eggs like she was making breakfast. :)

Peaches liked this big glitter egg.

After they got all their candy sorted we played a game of cards with Bug, F, and Mama before they went home.

We sure missed Grandpa and Grandma, and Papa and Noni, but it was a nice Easter!

Easter Sunday!

The girls woke up to their Easter baskets. Everyone got a new pair of sandals for the summer.

I made one for F and K too even though they decided they were too old for the egg hunt this year. :)

The rest was the usuals...chocolate bunny, chips, Peeps, coloring books for the younger girls, dry shampoo for the older ones, haha, and a few other things thrown in for fun.

I got the little ones a new pair of pants and the big girls got new shirts.

Peaches is so expressive. :)

Boo sent me this later of them getting ready for church. I had to head to church early for worship team practice.

I sang with the choir for offertory.

And then Noni had two songs prepared for the kids. Unfortunately she had been sick all week and only made it to church to help the kids sing and then had to leave again, but she did a great job with them as usual and it was wonderful!

 Here are the videos.

Great job kids! The signs were really fun.

The elders prayed over the four youth (including Boo) who were going on the Spring Break mission trip. Pictures of that to come.

We had a wonderful service and then headed home for lunch. It was a little sad this year because since Noni was sick she and Papa didn't join us and Grandma and Grandpa haven't been doing too well either so they stuck closer to home and didn't come for the first time in many years. But Mama was still able to come because F and K took her home, and Bug made some beautiful pies for us...apple and and chocolate!

Peanut helped Peaches and Lou make an Easter cake! So cute!

Peaches and Lou set the table and made place cards for everyone. :)

Noni dropped off some yummy scalloped potatoes and adorable deviled eggs!

We definitely missed both sets of grandparents but we had a fun time with Mama, Bug, and F!

Egg hunt pictures tomorrow!

Dyeing Eggs!

Noni invited the girls over for egg dyeing the Saturday before Easter. She got a new little machine this year where the eggs spin around and you can use markers to make cool designs. They loved it! They also did some traditional dyeing and stickers, but the marker machine was the biggest hit!

They were so excited to show me when they got home!

Lou named all hers. There was Blueberry, Watermelon, Ladybug, Strawberry, Pineapple, and Hamburger. :)

Bug also did some with them and made the Chewbaca egg. :) Lou made a neat solar system (bottom, second from the right). Peaches loved the stickers and was very upset when I wanted to crack them open for us to make egg salad sandwiches. :P

The next morning was Palm Sunday and Noni had the kids sing a sweet song.

Here is the video.

Easter pics next week!
