Sprinkler Fun!

We have had a cold summer so far! There have a been a few warm days here and there, but for the most part it has been pretty cool. As soon as it got the slightest bit warm the girls threw on their swimsuits and headed for the sprinklers. I love how the smallest things spark such joy for them!

We're ready for summer!!

The Shop!

We have been spending every free weekend and evening working on the shop! There are several different ways to do the foundation but we are going with the three concrete pour method. T spent weeks getting everything dug out in preparations for the footings. He went with a different method for the footings this time that uses plastic molds instead of wood. We got that all set and ready for the first pour.

T took the day off and Grandpa, our friend Pastor J, and one of the homeschooled teenagers from church came out to help us.

The pour went pretty well although we had an inexperienced driver. The main thing is that we had just the right amount of concrete and were able to to get it all smoothed out and finished.

We spent the next Saturday tying rebar.

The girls helped, especially Peanut.

Lou had a bit of a dirt uni-brow going on, haha.

We are all so dirty when we come in from working out there. This is what the floor looked like when T had to come work at the computer for a few minutes. :P

Then it was time to put up the walls. The girls love getting a tractor ride whenever they can!

We spent a couple weeks working on the walls. It's a slow process because there are so many steps, but we eventually got it done!

Grandpa came over a couple of Saturdays to help us finish prep and make sure everything was level and square.

Ready for the second pour!

The Dirt Pile

The girls are having a ball with the dirt pile. It got about twice as big when T dug the footings for the new shop and they have spent hours and hours playing in it. They dig for worms, make them houses, jump and slide down the pile, and do who knows what else but it keeps them busy while we're working!

Cowabunga!

Nothing better than kids and dirt! Even if it means a lot more baths!

Yearbook Pics

I don't know why I hadn't seen Bug's 22'-23' yearbook until now but I finally did and grabbed a couple of cute pictures.

Volleyball

The play

And last year's banquet.

I'll try to get a look at this year's yearbook pictures sooner!

Graduations

We knew a lot of graduates this year! Bug's best friend A graduated. She was valedictorian and did an amazing job. We were very happy for her, but are sad that she won't be at school with Bug next year! We will miss her!

Cousin E also graduated this year! We had so much going on that all of us couldn't make the trip, but T went down with Grandma and Grandpa and got to see him graduate.

After A's graduation we went down to the lake where there was a grad party for four of the kids at church. The girls had a ball running around with their friends. They wanted to swim but it was hovering around 70 and not very warm so I didn't let them. They ended up wading and Lou's shorts were soaked, but thankfully they weren't too cold once the sun came out.

The teenagers played volleyball for a long time.

Lou got super sandy and they hadn't turned the showers on yet so she had to dunk in the lake to get clean.

The kids found a snake so that brought a lot of excitement. :)

F is officially a graduate and starts his aviation program on July 1st!

Congratulations graduates!

I can't believe next year it will be Buggy's turn!!
