Leftover Thursday

We let the girls pick out a Christmas present for each other and Boo picked a Rapunzel wig for Bug.  It is currently tangled so bad I don’t know if I’ll ever get it apart, but one night after Christmas T picked it up and put it on Peanut’s head.  It looked so funny we had to get some pictures!

“What?”

IMG_0101

“Is there something different going on here?”

IMG_0102

“You think it’s pretty funny whatever it is!”

IMG_0103

“I think it’s true!  Blondes really DO have more fun!”

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We had a great time celebrating T’s birthday yesterday!  I convinced him to take the day off since we had bible study and wouldn’t be able to do anything in the evening.  So we all got up and had breakfast while he opened a few presents and then we headed to town.

We didn’t do anything super exciting, but we had a nice relaxing time just shopping and hanging out together.  The girls enjoyed some drive time at Lowes…

Whenever they ride in this car basket T will find an empty isle so they can “race” down it.  There is much squealing and giggling.  They love it of course!

We met up with Grandma, Grandpa, and Noni for lunch and a little Froyo.

The girls picked out new Legos for Daddy’s present, and I got him a soundbar.

Birthday hugs and kisses for Daddy!

Noni took the girls with her for naps, and T and I did a little more shopping before we had to go get them, drive them to dance, and then head to bible study.  It was a fun day celebrating the world’s greatest Daddy!  We love you Daddy! You’re the best!

“My Crazy Parents”

“So on Saturday night, my Daddy was getting me in my pajamas and got all excited about something.  He went upstairs and Mommy and my big sisters got all excited too.  No idea what they were going on about, but then Mommy got the camera and they were holding me upside down and prying my mouth open like crazy people!  Don’t believe me? I’ve got photographic evidence!  Check these out!”

IMG_0267

“Daddy!  What kind of game is this?!?”

IMG_0268

“Oh, ok, you’re going to let me chew on my toy?  Wait…you’re not getting it in the hole.  A little higher…”

IMG_0269

“I said higher!”

IMG_0271

“Seriously, WHAT are you people doing?  You want me to lick it??  Oookay.”

IMG_0272

“So. Weird.”

IMG_0270

“Yeah.  And then they stopped taking pictures because Mommy finally said ‘I got it!’ or something.  I don’t know what she ‘got’.  I sure can’t see anything, but they swear it’s there.  Something to do with making it easier to chew that weird stuff they’ve been shoving in my mouth.  Oh yeah, I think they called it food.  Like I said, crazy people!  Can’t wait to see what they do to me next.”

Carrots

When we were at the farm last weekend Peanut got her first taste of food. Grandma had made cooked carrots so we mashed a couple up and gave it a go.

“What is going on here?”

carrots

“Interesting.”

carrots1

“I’m supposed to be excited about this?”

carrots2

“Oh, Mother, my sweet, innocent Mother.  You stick something foreign in my mouth and expect me to love it the first time?  How delightfully naïve.”

carrots3

Haha, I don’t think anything actually made it down her throat, but she rolled them around in her mouth for quite a while before they fell out onto her chin.  Next up…oatmeal!

6 Months!

Half a year!  Our baby girl has already been with us for half a year! It never ceases to amaze me how fast the time flies.

Our little Peanut is changing every single day.  She is getting much more control over her movements, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she is an early crawler like Boo Bear.

6months

Everybody remarks about what a happy baby she is and it’s definitely true.  She always has smiles ready and waiting, and rarely cries.

6months1

She has been working hard on sitting up and each day she can go a littler longer than the day before.  I think about a minute is the longest she’s lasted so far without falling over.

6months2

She is FINALLY starting to enjoy bathtime…well maybe enjoy is too strong a word, but at least she’s not crying anymore.  She’s had three successful baths.  I have to ask Bug to hold her the whole time while I get her scrubbed up, and she has to have a toy to chew on, but if those two things are in place she is content.

6months4

She has started the “stranger danger” phase and most of the time will fuss if a stranger holds her.

The spitting up has finally slowed down to a reasonable amount.  My clothes are thankful. :)

6months5

One of my favorite new developments is that she is reaching for us now.  It’s so sweet when we walk by and she reaches up.

6months6

She is definitely a mover!  This was the first month that she pitched herself out of this chair!  I caught her right as I snapped this picture!

6months7

We went to the doctor yesterday and he said she looks great and is growing right on schedule.  She was 50% for weight at 15lbs. 14 oz. and 75% for head circumference and length at 23 3/4in.

6months3

We are thankful for our happy, healthy baby!  Now if we could just get her to grow some hair…

Party Like You’re 3 Years Old!

The main reason we went to the farm this past weekend was to celebrate our nephew, Waylon’s 3rd birthday!  He had a monster truck party!

party2

Chili cheese dogs and fries!  Each of the kids got a monster truck water bottle.

party

party1

Happy Birthday to you!

party3

I should have gotten a good picture of the monster truck cake before it got eaten…

party4

Boo Bear got part of a wheel, and wanted to show me her black tongue. :)

party5

Present time!

party6

Our family was very excited for Waylon to open our gift because T has been working on these since last August!

party7

Yes…7 months!

party9

He saw the patterns for these in one of his woodworking magazines, and the minute he did, he said, “I have GOT to make these for Waylon!”

party8

Here are the pictures I took before I wrapped them…

Dump truck.

party10

Complete with a tipping bed, and opening tailgate.

party11

Papa showed T how to make his own rub-ons with a ink jet printer and wax paper so T designed Waylon his own “company” logo over Thanksgiving.  I thought it turned out great!  It even says Est. 2010, his birth year.

party12

Semi-truck.  T did everything but the wheels.  He even turned the gas tanks on a lathe.

party14

Pulling a low-boy trailer and excavator.

party21

party20

This one was my favorite.  I loved the way the arm, and the bucket moves.

party15

party16

This one is T’s favorite.  Bulldozer!

party17

It does look pretty tough.

party18

I was SO impressed with what a great job he did!  They turned out so well, and he had such a good time making them!  They took forever, but he really enjoyed the work.

party19

Happy Birthday Waylon! Hope you have fun with your new toys!
