Queso has been doing very well and seems to have recovered from the loss of his brother. It helped a lot that Taco started being nicer to him. He gets a little rough when they play fight, but he will also snuggle with him when they take a nap. :)
Since Queso was the runt he is still very small. Maybe he will never get as big as a normal cat? I will come upon him napping somewhere and he looks so tiny!
Lou is doing better with being gentle, but she is still rough sometimes. This day I was getting her cleaned up for lunch when I realized the cat was in her highchair! He likes to crawl on the back of the couch which is right next to her chair. I don't know if he climbed over to her...more likely she snatched him up and shoved him down in her seat. :P
This is her really mad/sad face. She was being too rough with him and got in trouble. You can see the look on his poor face. Sometimes I wonder if he knows what she did to his brother because whenever she picks him up, even gently, his heart starts beating really fast. :(
She cries when she gets banned from holding him.
And then wants to snuggle her hurt feelings away.
Queso makes us laugh a lot. Here he is licking a stuffed duck.
And he is just so darn cute.
We are very thankful for him and the sweetness he adds to our lives.
The other day when Grandma and Grandpa came over the girls were so excited they jumped up on the Sheetrock pile. That quickly dissolved into Lou jumping to Grandpa. She was SO happy!
This little one has no fear! She was just running and jumping out...even before he was ready sometimes. Haha.
The huge smile on her face was priceless.
I wish I had gotten a good video because her little legs were just a kicking away the whole time he swung her out and then back.
Peaches was not quite so sure about jumping. There was lots of hesitating and then more of a fall than a jump. Haha.
It was so funny because all the girls ended up taking a turn...even Bug! We were all laughing so hard! We are thankful for the joy that Grandma and Grandpa bring!
Boo's October STEM project was to make a catapult. She used Kinex to make "The Pumpkin Pitcher" and it flung those little candy pumpkins all the way across the kitchen! Her teacher was impressed.

I got Peaches some puzzles to help her have something to do while her sisters are doing schoolwork. She loves puzzles.
I love to watch Lou when we pray at meals. She sweetly folds her hands.
She doesn't close her eyes but it's still really cute!
I still haven't gotten Peaches allergy tested so for now we are just staying away from dairy. I found these all-fruit popsicles that she likes and gets to have whenever the other girls get ice cream.
I had to grab a picture of this Hallelujah moment. This was the first time I have ever noticed Lou playing with toys by herself! She is not one to play with toys...markers, paper, paint, glue sticks, tape, the spice rack, dishes, and anything that can make a mess is a different story, but never toys. This day she started playing with Duplos! I cleared out the big toy pile and left just the Duplos and a few baby dolls and she has been playing for at least a few minutes by herself every day! I am VERY excited and hope she continues this new pattern!
She went to Sunday School for the first time the other day and was SOO proud to show me the picture she made! Too cute.
Speaking of making things...Daddy and Peanut made this Calico Critter swingset out of some scrap wood. :)
Grandma and Grandpa came over Halloween day and the day before to help out on the house. We had a special lunch to celebrate Grandma's birthday and Bug made a chocolate cream pie from scratch that was really good!
We got her an ornament with all the grandkid's names on it.
We worked all day, both days...Grandpa came up with a clever way to get the huge pieces of Sheetrock upstairs...I'll post about that later, and we got the last window put in! Whoo hoo! So exciting! I finished up painting a few days later so we are officially done with siding! It only took us 18 weeks of weekends! I definitely do NOT recommend wood siding. Lol.
We met up with some friends that evening at church for trick-or-treating. All the kids looked so cute!
Then we hit the streets! Lou really got into it! The girls had been practicing trick-or-treating with her all week so she knew just what was going on!
It is so fun to trick-or-treat with friends!
One girl had a clever costume to keep her germ-free while handing out candy in her yard. I noticed quite a few people handed out candy from the yard or porch...maybe for Covid or maybe just because it was a very nice evening and not too cold.
We saw some AWANA friends at their house.
Several people had candy chutes to be able to stay 6ft away. It was actually extra nice because then the little ones didn't have to try to climb stairs.
Last year Lou only lasted 45 minutes before screaming her head off til we got home. This time we trick-or-treated for nearly three hours! And she did awesome! She rode in the stroller a lot, but she was so happy...especially when I gave her a sucker!

We made it to our friends/old neighbor's house where they had set up the best candy chute of all! It was lit up like a beacon and we could see it from several blocks away. They had decorated the whole thing with a spider web. Everyone loved it!
After about two and half hours we made the big loop back to the church. We got in the car and decided to hit a few more friends' houses by car.
I got a video of Lou and Peaches playing with Daddy. I loved the way Lou's tail wiggled back and forth when she ran. Too cute.
We finally made it home around eight o'clock and had a quick and very late bite to eat. Lou went to bed and the rest stayed up and did the great candy sort!
After having so many of our traditional trips and activities cancelled this year I was even more grateful for our small town and it's sweet family celebration of Halloween!
A few days after our visit to the pumpkin patch we took a rare free evening to sit down and do pumpkins. Peaches and Lou painted theirs, Bug and Peanut carved theirs, and Boo went with the drill method.

Later that week Peaches was "sad I didn't get to carve a pumpkin" and scraped off the green paint with a butter knife leaving dried green flecks of paint all over the counter and floor. :P Next year maybe we'll let her carve! Haha.
