We had some big excitement the other night! I was getting the littles ready for bed and we'd already started reading books when T texted me, "There's a bunny in our yard." I forwarded the picture to our neighbor (who raises rabbits) and said, "This isn't a wild bunny right?" She said it looked like a Himilayan rabbit, definitely not wild, so T and the big girls got Jax inside and started trying to catch it.
After a few minutes, cornering it, they were able to catch it and it was definitely tame. She was so sweet!
Everybody had to have a turn to hold her.
The littles were already in bed by the time they caught her but we got them up to share in the excitement.
So happy!
T went to the closest neighbors to ask if it was theirs while the girls played with the bunny.
It ended up being the neighbors three houses away! She made it all the way across the railroad tracks, up the big hill, past two houses (both with dogs) and into our yard without Jax finding her first! The girls were sad that we didn't get to keep her, but they enjoyed the bunny snuggles while they lasted!
Daddy and the girls had really gotten into playing with Nerf guns. She came walking up to me, holding the bag of Nerf gun balls. She opened it dramatically and said, "Feast your eyes on this Ma-ma!"
August 31st
We were setting up to play a game of Catan. She hopped up to the table, "Mommy can I play!?" Me: "I don't know honey. You never stick with it." Her: "Yes I AM sticky! I can DO it!"
September 2nd
Overheard while the little ones played together, "Lou! Don't question my au-fority!"
September 3rd
She was belting out the song A Whole New World. She stopped and grabbed her chest, "Whew! I almost runned out of air!"
September 5th
We were in Boise visiting the cousins. Bug sidled up to Peaches to tell her goodnight. Her: "It pains me to say it, but you are squishing me." Everyone started giggling and she sat up, "Well I didn't want to crush her feelings!"
October 2nd
Her: "What's intimidated?" Me: "Kind of like a little bit scared." Her: "Oh. Ok. If a ghost calls me on the phone and says BOO I'm going to say 'You're intimidated!'"
October 7th
She was supposed to go to Noin's but couldn't because she was coming down with a little cold. She dramatically clutched her chest and said, "I can't go to Noni's because the Covid got me."
After swimming all morning we came back to our cabin for lunch. Peaches had been super whiny all day and acting like she didnt' feel great so I had her lay down. She ended up taking a three hour nap!
The big girls and I played cards, read, and watch a little TV while we waited for them to wake up.
Daddy got done with his meetings shortly after they woke up and Boo and Peanut had been asking to do a little shopping so he stayed with the little ones (who were both melting down after their day in the sun and long naps) so we could sneak out for a bit.
There are so many gorgeous flowers all over the place!
We were only able to shop for about half an hour but we had fun and I bought the girls specialty truffles. Peanut got birthday cake and Boo got mint chocolate. :)
Then we got to do something new...there was a dinner cruise available for the conferees and the "shuttle" was a limo! The girls were SO excited to get to ride in a limo for the first time!
And excited for the dinner cruise as well!
Peaches was not feeling good at all, but she hung with us and made it. They had a taco bar which was perfect for the kids as well as handmade pretzels and gigantic cookies.
After we ate we walked around and checked out all the views from the different decks.
The next morning we packed up all our things for check out and headed down for a couple more hours at the pool. Peaches was still feeling peaked but perked up when they found this huge monarch butterfly!

And she actually started swimming for real! Hopefully we can get her swimming even more confidently the rest of the summer!
This was kind of cool...we saw a whole bunch of hang-gliders, and they just stayed there circling and drifting for over two hours before they finally moved off. T said he had heard about them and that they were going all the way past our town and back! Later on our drive home we saw three of them landing in a field...I guess they didn't make it all the way back? At that point they had been in the air for at least 6 hours!
Thankfully the little ones slept all the way home and we were able finish the rest of the day unpacking without too much post-vacation grumpiness, but they definitely went to bed early! Anything out of our normal routine seems to throw them off for a bit which makes me nervous for our big Texas trip coming up, but I'm still looking forward to it. We are so thankful that summer is finally here!!
There was a BBQ Monday for the conferees and their families. They had several games set up for the kids. We played a couple of rounds of Connect Four.
And Peaches played Jenga with some ladies. She was surprisingly good at it and got the tower really high!
After dinner the kids played in the sand and water while Daddy talked with people.
A mama and two baby ducks came up to us.
The next morning wasn't quite as warm so we headed to the park when we woke up. We had to get our annual pictures. Bug wasn't with us because she had staff training for camp.
Lou did not want to participate so this was as good as it got.
She liked the swing and the slides though!
Peaches looks a lot like Bug did at her age and Lou looks the most like Boo so it's funny to me to take them places where we used to go with Bug and Boo. It's like dejavu.
It felt a lot hotter at the park then it had at the hotel so they didn't last very long before wanting to head back to get in the pool.
After a two year hiatus Daddy finally had his lake resort conference again! It used to be for a bunch of different hospital workers but this time it was only for CEO's so there were about 100 attendees instead of 500 which made it really nice crowd-wise. Because of that we were also able to stay at the main resort instead of across the lake. Since we had so many people we were given a "cabin" with two bedrooms.
We arrived and unpacked, and then headed to our favorite little diner for "breakfast". There were two older couples sitting next to us and we talked to them a little bit before getting our food but then I didn't think anything of it until the waitress came up at the end and said they had paid for our meal! They said, "Good tables should be rewarded" and that they were so impressed with how polite and well behaved the girls were. So sweet!!
We headed to Walmart for food and water for our stay and then got settled in. The first night Peaches slept on the couch and Lou slept in her "crib" as she calls it. I wasn't planning to take it to Texas since she sleeps in a big girl bed now, but she sleeps so much better with it. It's like a comfort item for her since it's contained and familiar.

The next morning we hit the pool bright and early and had it mostly to ourselves all morning!

We spent hours and hours at the pool over the course of the three days.
When we first got there Peaches was a little nervous. She has always been more timid around water.
Peanut is swimming like a pro!
This resort also has beach access so we took a break from the pool to play in the sand.
Such a beautiful spot! And we were thankful to see our first high 80's temps of the year!
The big girls swam out to the dock even though the lake was very cold!
Daddy was able to sneak away and join us for lunch at the drive in!
I found all sorts of selfies and videos on my phone later. :P
We walked over to the park to feed the ducks our leftovers.
Then it was naptime for Lou. The rest of us played Ticket to Ride and then read books until she woke up. Then it was back to the pool for several more hours!
