Whoops, these pictures got left out…

We took the girls up to the “big” rocks one day. It was way too much for Peanut, and too much for the other girls too, but they made it with lots of help. We used to climb all over these rocks as kids, but I guess we were a little older than this.

It was really crowded when we tried to go. We had to wait in almost every spot just to get up to the top. I’m not sure how many people were at camp this year, but after the first night they said they’d served 900+ people in the dining shed for dinner.

This spot is called “Fat Man’s Misery” because it’s so tight to squeeze through. :)

Waiting with Noni for the bigger girls. It started to rain and the rocks got really slick so we had to leave after just a few minutes. At least we can say we made it up there!

Okay, NOW I’m done with the camp pictures. We stayed till Saturday morning and then got the cabin packed and Noni and Aunt Karen closed it up for the winter while I tried to keep the girls occupied and out of the way.

Even though the girls did very well in the car on the way down, they still pestered each other quite a bit and by the time we reached Texas they were really starting to pick and poke at each other. In an effort to keep the peace we separated them on the way home and it went MUCH smoother! Amazing what a few feet of space can do. :)

We made a 45 minute detour the first day so we could have lunch with Grandma and Grandpa B and Uncle K.

It was so nice to visit with them even though we wished it could have been longer!

That night we stayed at a base in New Mexico and then drove all the way up to Denver. Once again there was terrible traffic. We saw a Waffle House on the way so we decided to stop there for dinner. The girls love that place! It’s like IHOP but way better because it doesn’t take 30 minutes to get your food!

Of course we had to hit the pool as soon as we got to the hotel!

When we came back I found that K had left this note on the bed. :)

The next day we took a break from driving and went to the Denver Zoo! Pictures tomorrow!

Camp-Part 5

Okay, the last of the camp pictures! My mom and I laughed with we saw this “No Painting on Sidewalk” sign painted on the sidewalk. Haha :)

Concession stand treat after lunch one day!

I came back from the Family Emphasis class one day to find Peanut laughing.

Noni always comes up with the funniest games! This one was something about a fish in a net.

Peanut and Boo slept in the back room. Peanut had a net over the pack n play and consequently had the fewest mosquito bites of anyone for the week.

Boo and Peanut took a nap a couple of the days, but most of the time I tried to keep them up so they would be in bed asleep by 7 at night (our 5pm!) so they could get their 12 hours in before the early morning wake ups.

Bug and I shared a bunk. Aunt Karen had found a bed rail so she did great and didn’t have any problems.

On the road trip down I found this in the back. T had made me this “kit” with all my favorite things: Nutrageous, honey roasted peanuts, raspberry gum, almonds, Chapstick, and he even put some new hair bands in there along with antibacterial hand wipes, and a couple more things. SO sweet!

Last day of camp! Boo had a big mosquito bite right in the middle of her head so we put a tatoo over it. Haha :)

Big girls headed off on their own!

The last day was Cowboy day and two of the camp’s founding cowboys came with their horses and made their brands on wood for all the kids to take home. You can see the remnants of the day’s snocone on Boo. Haha :)

Such a wonderful week at camp!

Cousins!

Camp ended Friday after lunch so Friday night we went into town and ate at a little Italian restaurant. We walked in and saw one of the families from camp that we’ve known forever.  It’s so fun to see the next generation becoming friends! :)

I’m SO glad we were able to go this year! Especially since it will probably be a while before we make it down there again! I’m so thankful for the time we had with family.

Camp-Part 4

Uncle Sean and Aunt Jen arrived just before bed on Monday night. We were so excited to see them!

We headed to breakfast as soon as we woke up the next morning. Best meal of the day!

Camp breakfasts are totally worth the 2000+ mile drive. SO good. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, and cantaloupe are my favorites. The girls loved the pancakes! Peanut ate two helpings every morning plus bacon and tons of grapes! Yum!

Boo had an ok time at her 4-5 year old class the first day, but it was basically day care. They didn’t have a lesson or anything, just played for three and half hours. So the next day we took her down to day camp and asked if she could join the 1st graders with her cousin (3rd cousin??). They said yes. The 1st graders were the Snow Leopards.

She had a BLAST! She was so excited when she got back and she and the other girls were singing camp songs at the top of their lungs.

Bug was the one that hit it off with the 6 year old. “R is more lively!” she told me when I asked why she wasn’t playing with the 9 year old. These girls were two peas in a pod! They both had crazy energy and very similar personalities! They spent hours outside every day, hunting bugs and playing.

Peanut invited her cousins to come swim one day.

These are my mom’s cousins’ kids’ kids. So we just called them cousins. :)

This brother and sister are too adorable! He is the epitome of a boy and is always on the go. So cute!

One afternoon we headed over to the concession stand. Almost everyone got snocones, but Bug picked Starburst and Boo picked Skittles.

Peanut and I went for a walk down to day camp one day to see if we could get a picture of the girls. They must have been off on nature walks though because only the older kids were in the camp.

One day Auntie Jen said, “I think there’s a nest of baby cardinals behind the cabin.” There were!

Boo walked out of the cabin one of the first days and said, “Mommy! My first sunrise!” I thought about it…yes I guess she never has been awake in time to see the sunrise before!

The camp had built a rock structure around the water fountains since the last time we’d been there. It worked out great for the girls because they could reach.
