Farmhouse Update

After searching and calling and searching some more we finally were able to get some mudder and tapers! They were actually the same guys that did our house in town. We had originally called them, but they had a big commercial project they were supposed to be doing. After many failed attempts we desperately tried them again, and their big project had been pushed back so they were able to squeeze us in!

The best part was that we knew them personally and they are so nice. It's a family business: the main owner, his son, and even his sister came a few days to help out. When they did our other house the grandpa was also involved too but I think he had since passed away. They were so sweet with the girls and every time they walked through the house for two weeks the little ones would say, "Hi! Hi!" and they would take a moment to say hi back to them. :)

Here are a few pictures I snagged after hours.

Once they were all finished it was time for paint! Noni took the girls for a full Saturday so T and I could paint. He sprayed and I rolled and we got the whole thing primed and painted!

Bug and Boo chose to do an accent wall in their rooms and wanted to help paint it. Bug chose a pretty and fun mint color.

And Boo chose a beautiful slate blue.

Ta da!

Peaches got a purple room because her personality screams anything but white. Haha.

Very nice!

Peanut chose to go with an all white room and then do vinyl stickers...pictures of that to come.

I looked and looked for a tile I liked and couldn't find anything. Then one day I happened to spot this tile and fell in love! So pretty!!! And nice big 16x16 squares so install was pretty quick. Grandpa came over one day and between him cutting, T installing, and me measuring and running we knocked it out.

Then it was time for carpet! Our first install date got pushed back because the carpet didn't arrive at the warehouse in time. We got a new date for the following week. The carpet in our current bedroom needed to be stretched so we cleared it out. These pictures were from the first time...apparently the store had sent me an email stating that they needed to reschedule the install date but I never got it. So we woke up that morning, cleared the bedroom, and waited all morning for the installers to arrive. I finally called at noon and that's when I discovered I should have gotten an email. :P

But Lou enjoyed the empty room that day.

And it gave me time to do one more thing on the floor...write Ephesians 5:8 on the the floor and trace everyone's footprints. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Lou had about half a dozen sets of footprints because between each girl she said, "My churn!" :)

After another week of waiting the big day finally came! They were so excited and ran all over it.

And Peaches started moving in right away. :P

Lots more progress has already been made since I took these so I'll have to do another update soon!

A Frozen Birthday

Okay the last of the birthday pictures! Our final birthday celebration was dinner with our good friends the O family. Peaches really wanted a Frozen party. I used the leftover snowflakes from her 1st (and Boo's 6th) birthday, and she dressed up as Elsa. :)

 Bug made her the cake.

And I grabbed a picture when the friends arrived.

It was so nice to have them over and feel "normal" for one night. We used to entertain all the time and we've had only a handful of people over in an entire year!

We sang happy birthday after dinner.

And Peaches had a lot of confidence in her blowing abilities. Haha.

That's better.

They brought Boo a present too, so sweet.

Peaches present was big!

A unicorn! She said, "I always wanted one of these!"

She happily started trotting around the room.

I gave them a few more gifts of clothes that I had kept back.

And Lou quickly swiped the unicorn. :)

Such a sweet night with good friends! I am looking forward to the day when we can have people over regularly again!

A few days later we headed to the doctor for check ups.

Boo wanted a quick picture without masks.

They did great with their checkups. Peaches wanted me to take a picture of how brave she was showing the doctor she could stick out her tongue. :)

I decided to finally ask about getting her allergy tested since we thought she was allergic to milk. They did the blood draw right then. It was only two small vials but I guess that is a lot for a little body. She had literally been bouncing off the walls, and chairs, and table...and after her blood draw she turned white and was very lethargic.

She laid on the table while we waited for shots. It ended up working out well because she was almost too tired to care about the shots. Boo went first with her shots and was super brave, and that helped too. Peaches whined a little bit but didn't even cry when it was her turn. They did two separate shots and I was amazed at how well she did. The nurse was great with them too which helped a lot.

She was pretty nauseous when we left and I looked back to find her making this face, saying she was going to "puke up". Thankfully she fell asleep less than a minute later and didn't make good on her word.

The blood tests all came back completely negative for allergies, and amazingly all of the sudden her tummy issues seem to have resolved themselves! I can only believe that God healed her of whatever the problem was because she can now eat cheese with no problems after five years of not being able to handle it at all! That has to be a miracle! We are very thankful!!

And one last birthday picture...here is Boo wearing a hat she made on her new loom! She did a great job!

Phew! Birthday celebrations are great but exhausting! Haha!

Birthday Celebrations - Part 3

None of us were very hungry after our huge lunch, but we had one last cupcake and sang happy birthday before the big girls left for Awana.

Also before they left Noni and Papa came over and we finished opening presents. Uncle K and Aunt J got Peaches some neat lights for her room.

Boo got this awesome owl night light. It has different colors too.

Peaches got a mermaid swimsuit and book from Auntie N and Uncle M.

And Boo got a pretty coloring book and an owl picture for her room.

Aunt K got them money. Peaches came in a cute kitty purse.

And Boo got a beautiful carved box.

Mama got Boo a Lego set and Peaches a really neat personalized writing/drawing pad.  Thank you for all the sweet presents everyone!

Peaches was leaving with Noni and Papa for her special day and Lou was so sad that she didn't get to go too.

Had to grab a picture with my birthday girl before she left. Can't believe how big she is getting!

She took this one of Noni and Lou.

And we grabbed this one with Boo after they got home from Awana.

The next day one of Boo's besties got to spend the night.  We had Papa Murphy's and rice crispy treats since we had been eating cake all week. Haha.

The girls played games and watched a movie.

And had a wonderful sleepover with R. The next day at breakfast Lou rolled her paper plate up and tried to eat it. :P

Still more pictures tomorrow!
