Happy Friday!

Disney Day 2! - Part 2

 I don't know how good of an idea it was but Noni, Peaches, Lou, and Bug went on the teacups right after lunch, haha.

 

 

Bug was spinning them as fast as she could and Noni said it made her a little sick. :P

 

 

Boo and I watched safely from the sidelines. :)

 

 

 Our little "sugar lumps" as the ride attendants called them. :)

 

 

Then we did Toad's Wild Ride and it was indeed wild! I think it would have made more sense if I'd ever read the book but it seemed pretty sketchy if you ask me, haha.

 

 We left Fantasyland and headed back to Toontown because Bug had found an "Original Mickey" t-shirt at Goodwill and wanted to get it signed by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. I thought that was a pretty tall order for our last day since she only had Goofy and Pluto but we wanted to give it a try. We headed for Minnie's house while Noni took Boo, Peaches, and Lou to a ride.

 

 

 

They thought it was really fun!

 

 

Meanwhile Bug and I stood in line for about 20 minutes and she finally got to meet Minnie!

 

 

 

Happy girl! 

 

 

I was super impressed with how well their signatures came out to be writing on stretched out fabric!

 

  

 

While we were waiting in line for Minnie, Daisy came out! They told us she couldn't stop walking so I told Bug to follow her and get in the front of the line wherever she stopped. She did and was able to check off Daisy while I held our place in line for Minnie. 

I was worried we would have to wait a long time for Mickey since Wednesday it had been a 45 minute wait, but we walked right in, waited two minutes, and met him! 

 

 

He was so cute!

 

 

 

When he saw Minnie's signature he kissed his hand and pressed it to the place. So cute.

 

 

And then God blessed us with Donald walking by and he was allowed to stop and sign! I thought it was going to take hours standing in lines to get those four signatures but within 30 minutes we had them all! Bug was so happy!

 

 

I texted Noni that Mickey's line was super short so she took the little ones in to see him. I think they must do hug training for their employees because the characters hug you just as if you were their long lost best friend. So sweet. 

 

 

 

I also thought it was funny that Mickey "changed clothes" in the five minutes between us seeing him and the little ones. Haha.

Disney Day 2! - Part 1

Friday morning we headed straight for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since we had missed it on Wednesday. There was already a line but it wasn't too terrible a 20-30 minute wait.

 

  

 

Ready to ride!

 

 

 

It was so fun! And long! Twice I thought it was over and then we just kept going again. They take you into a mine shaft with lots of "Danger: Keep Out!" signs and then a big dynamite blast goes off and you go rocketing out of there. It was really cute.

 

 

The girls wanted to do Smuggler's Run again so Noni took them up to Star Wars.

And here's two of them piloting the run. Lou said, "Smuggler's Run was kind of awesome! But then E runned us into a meteor and crashed into the ship we were trying to get." :P The piloting was harder than it looked!

 

T, Boo, and I did Pirates of the Caribbean. She was telling us how she had heard that they release certain scents on the different rides to enhance the experience. I'm not sure if that's what it was but it definitely smelled tropical like the Carribean! Next we went over to Tomorrowland and did one called Autotopia.

 

 

I better get used to Boo driving me around! 

 

 

She'll be getting her permit in a few months! 

 

 

 We did the Finding Nemo submarines next. The line wasn't too bad. I think we only waited 20 minutes or so.

 

 

 

 

We all had our chins down on the port holes so we could see out and when the ride was over I thought it was weird that T was staring at the wall until Boo started laughing and pointed out that his eyes were closed. Good ride for a nap. Haha.

 

This is where Daddy and Peanut took off for California Adventure and the Increidcoaster. She said they ate giant hand dipped corn dogs for lunch. The rest of us got lunch from one of the little cafes and found a place to eat outside in the sunshine. We got Mickey Mouse bread bowls! Noni and I got chili and Bug and Boo got mac and cheese in theirs. The little ones got hot dog kids meals.
 

 

 

While we were eating, the Mad Hatter and Alice were putting on a little show and playing musical chairs with some kids. On their way out he stopped us and asked if we were matching on purpose or if it was just an accident when we got dressed that morning, haha. He was really funny.  

 

 

 Bug had done extensive research on Disney food and was on the hunt for raspberry macaroons. :) She was bummed because you are supposed to be able to get them at the Jolly Holiday restaurant but it was closed. Thankfully we asked and learned that they offered them at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor just a few shops down. She and Boo both got one and the little ones got an ice cream sundae to share.

 

 

 

A little parade went by as we were walking back to our table.

More tomorrow!

California Adventure! - Part 2

 I don't know how T and the big girls found so many characters at California Adventure. The only one we saw was Dr. Strange and I wouldn't have known who he was except that I heard someone call out to him. :P

But they found all sorts of people! Pluto...

 

 

Goofy...

 

 Loki...Peanut got a Lego keychain of him later when we were shopping. They also saw Thor and Captain Marvel, and a bunch of others in a little street theater they stopped to watch.

 

The Increidcoaster was Peanut's favorite ride out of both parks. I think she went on it 5 or 6 times! This picture is actually from Friday. Everyone but the little ones had hopper passes so Daddy and Peanut were able to go over to the other park and ride it a couple more times on Friday. Unfortunately it broke down while they were on it so they had to get off mid-ride, but they did get lightening lane passes to make up for it. 

 

 

 Once they figured out where the camera was they started making funny faces.

 

 Lol. They said people were laughing at them when they got off the coaster. Haha.

 

 Pixar Pier! The Increidcoaster is behind the Ferris wheel. It was really long!

 

 

 Daddy and Peanut also rode Radiator Springs again on Friday.

 

 

The little ones wanted to see the Lunar New Year parade.  

 

 

This pretty flower dancer saw them waving.

 

 

And came over to give them high 5's!

 

 

Lou was SO happy!

 

 

The big girls did Guardians of the Galaxy which was a big tower drop, and then came and met up with us. I thought it was super funny because the older girls said they didn't want to see the parade but then they ended up getting stuck behind it and following it for 15 minutes so they got to see the whole routine about 6 times. Haha.

 

 

 

Our friends the G family had told us we had to go to Carsland when it was dark because all the neon lights come on so we headed over there as soon as it started getting dark and got to see Lightning McQueen again.

 

 It did look super pretty all lit up!

 

 

This and Star Wars Land were definitely my favorite places!

 

 

So cute!

 

 

 We were all getting tired and cold after that and between our two groups we did all but 2 rides in the whole park so we decided to head out. Main street was pretty all lit up.

 

 

Happy, tired girls!

 

 

We grabbed Jersey Mike's and ate it back at our Airbnb and then went to bed early. I've read that you walk an average of 10 miles a day at Disneyland and I think it's totally true. Other than sitting for 2 minutes at a time for rides we were walking or standing for 10 hours straight! We all slept well that night!
