Our town celebration is one of my favorite times of year. I just love this little farm community! 8 years ago this little town never even crossed my mind as a place to live, but I am so incredibly thankful that God brought us here.
On Saturday T headed down early to get the booth for the hospital set up and going. Thankfully Noni had spent the night so she was able to help me get the girls ready and then watch them while I headed down for my "gig". Haha :)
I took this picture to show Sean and Jen that I was wearing the beautiful bracelet they got me for my birthday!
We played worship songs for nearly an hour while people milled around, staking their spots for the parade and visiting the booths.
The girls found some of their friends so they were happy!
I thought L was wearing Bug's jacket when I first saw her, but then I realized they were twinsies. :)
The parade began with the National anthem, sung by one our friends from church. Then the candy started coming. This picture cracked me up. It looks as if Boo is saying, "Come to me candy! Come!"
The girls were SO excited to see Daddy coming down the street! They could have walked in the parade with him, but they wanted to SEE rather than be IN the parade. When you are in it you miss most of it.
There were some awesome floats this year! I thought this Alice in Wonderland one was so creative!
And so was this "Night in Paris"!
But I think my favorite was the pirate ship! And our friend K was the Queen!
Speaking of "Queens" we had to get a picture with ours, and our friend Princess M!
The National Guard came out this year and had free rock climbing! I thought the girls might be scared, but they went for it!
It was really high, but they did great! Go Buggy!

After rock climbing I let them pick one thing to do. They chose to make puzzles at the spin art booth.
Then we went home and I fed Peaches while Noni took them back down to the bouncy house.
After that they got their faces painted.

Peaches was tired again so Noni took her home for a nap while the rest of us stayed to watch the belly flop contest.
It was pretty funny to watch!
The next day after church we went to the play. They have a program where they bring in guest artists. There were two actors (one from New York) and a director. Between them and our local volunteers they put on one of the best musicals I've ever seen! I was very impressed! All in all it was a wonderful weekend of fun and celebrating our town! And thank you Noni for helping out all weekend with the kiddos!!!
