Last Days of School

Boo got to go on a little field trip with her STEM class. They built things to keep an egg from breaking when dropped from a high spot and then they went to one of the local grain tanks where a worker dropped their contraptions from the top to see if they broke.

I think she said it was 200 feet!

And she said all the eggs made it! Except one of the boys broke his when trying to pull it out of his contraption.

Then they got to pet some cows, haha.

Last day of 9th grade! It was Christian T-shirt day which means they get to wear jeans.

Peanut made a DNA model and did such a good job the teacher asked if she could use it as a future student model! Good job Peanut!

These are her last days of doing school in a comfy chair with a kitten on her lap...but she's not sad. She's super excited to go to "real" school next year!

Peaches has done a great job this year! Her teacher and all her classmates love her and she has straight A's and is on honor roll. Great job Peaches! Third grade...check!

Friends and Games

T took the big girls to a minor league baseball game the other day. It was one of those group things that Bug and Boo's school offered so the girls were happy to be able to sit with their friends! T said Peanut was having more fun than this picture suggests, haha.

One of Boo's besties was sitting right in front of her so she said they talked the whole time and didn't really watch the game, haha.

T said once Peanut's friends left she got tired and wanted to go home. I have no idea what she is doing here, haha. They did win the game though!

Peanut's friend, T, is back for a few weeks with her family! They are missionaries in Mexico so time with them is rare and I think it's been almost four years since these girls have even seen each other, but they bounced right back into close friendship. Her family was doing errands so she got to hang out with us for a whole day and they had so much fun together!

For lunch I made them a snack board and popcorn and let them watch a movie.

We had a VBS meeting that night and got the whole gang back together.

We are thankful for sweet days with friends!

Leftover Thursday

Lou made a bunch of cute puppets and taped them to pencils to tell a story. I thought she did a great job!

We finally got the hot tub cleaned out after months of it being green and smelly and these three wanted in right away for a swim!

The girls all helped so much getting the place ready for Bug's graduation party. These two used some of the money they earned to buy a miniature claw machine off Amazon.

They spent hours that first week playing with it!

It's actually really cute and totally functional!

Coco was looking a little worried about playing dress up. Lol.

But Peaches was pretty proud of herself!

It cracks me up how one minute they will be bounding around and play fighting and then the next they pass out and nothing can wake them. This one crawled over and fell asleep on me and then I needed to get up so Peanut took it...it never cracked an eye lid.

Happy Thursday!

VBS Coloring and a Float!

Noni held a "coloring party" for people to come color posters and pictures she had made for VBS! It was very well attended and all the girls enjoyed it!

Boo was taking her turn being sick during it but the rest of us went and colored away!

Our theme this year is games! Noni has been making all sorts of game pieces and posters to decorate the church.

It was really fun!

The little girls got to color some of the smaller things that were getting cut out.

After coloring we headed over to the main street to watch a preview of this year's float.

Our sweet friend A is the Queen of our little town! She chose a Sonic the Hedgehog theme and had a beautiful blue ballgown! The girls were so excited to see her riding on the float. They can't wait for the real parade in July!

Engaged!

A few months ago F asked T and I out to lunch and asked for Bug's hand and our blessing! He told us he was going to wait until sometime after she was graduated but I think he was eager to get the show on the road because he picked the day after to propose!

Boo and Peanut knew that it was the night, and Bug was pretty sure it was too. He asked her to dress up and told her he wanted to take her on a picnic. :)

We put the little ones to bed at 8:30 and then lit our first fire in the "new" fire pit...I should explain. This "fire pit" is actually a piece of a huge, heavy container that was in the basement when we first moved in. I believe it held propane or oil (?) to heat the house in the old days. It was so large that Grandpa and T had to cut it into three pieces to get it out of the basement and once they got it into the light of day T said, "That would be a cool fire pit", so it's been sitting outside waiting for it's chance to shine for 9 years! I love it!

It was a bummer we couldn't enjoy all our hard work the night of the graduation party, but we've been getting plenty of use out of the patio, yard, and fire pit since then!

We waited eagerly for her to get home and she FINALLY did after ten....

 Ta da!

It sounds like F did an amazing job! A beautiful picnic by the river, a sweet speech, saying her full name in the proposal, and getting down on one knee! Aww! And he even had a photographer hiding and ready to take their pictures!!! I was SO happy we got to share in their special moment that way!

They both look SO happy! We are incredibly blessed that our daughter found this amazing, dedicated, responsible, man who is actively pursing God's calling on his life. As a parent I can't think of anything better! He is the answer to so many prayers prayed for her future spouse. We can't wait to see what wonderful things God does in their lives together!!

Welcome to the family F!

Parade

We actually had a free Saturday morning the other day so we decided to take the little ones over to a local parade. Peanut and Bug decided to come too. When we got there we found some friends and stood with them. The girls were excited to see A the Princess of our town coming through on her float.

But of course their favorite thing is gathering and eating the candy that everyone throws. :)

Ms A let them pet her horse when there was a lull.

Daddy wandered through the car show while the big girls looked at the booths and I watched the little ones play at the playground. It was a hot day, but fun to participate in the town days!
