Check Ups

I don't think I ever posted these pictures. They are from back in January when baby needed her 2 month check up. It was right around the birthdays so Boo and Peaches were ready for their well childs as well, and apparently I had missed Peanut's well child last August so I decided to get it all taken care of in one fell swoop.

The girls were happy to go...I feel so on edge anytime we go to the doctor because of the possibility of germs. Especially in the winter! I think I sanitized Peaches' hands about a dozen times. Of course she was rolling around on the floor multiple times. Ugh. :P

They were happy because the clinic gave them each a new box of crayons. :)

The big girls helped keep Peaches entertained.

She was practicing showing the doctor her mouth. Haha.

They all did great and are right on track for growth and height. Baby did very well with her shots and only cried for a minute. She smiled at the doctor when he was checking her eyes. :)

Boo has quite a few planter's warts on her left foot so the doctor froze one of them with a little blow-torch looking thing. He said killing one will often kick start the body into getting rid of the others. Hopefully that will happen.

She is one tough cookie! She kept this stoic face the whole time even though I know it hurt! He kept saying, "Are you ok?" and every time she nodded and said, "Yes." He was impressed with her! So was I!

These pictures don't quite convey the circus-type feeling of wrangling 5 kids in a tiny little room for an hour and half, but they really didn't do too bad. I felt like they were a little crazy, but everyone there seemed to just think they were cute and entertaining. At least I hope they did. Haha. :)

Family Fun Day!

The girls' school did their end of semester celebration where they give a huge discount for a local family fun center. I thought the place just gave the school a really good deal, but Peanut's teacher told us that they give a group discount and then the school subsidizes the price to make it reasonable. It's normally $53 dollars a person and we get it for $12!

When we got there I stayed in the car to feed the baby and Daddy and the big girls headed inside. We left Peaches with Noni because there is only one attraction a toddler can do so she would have just been sitting around watching them.

They headed straight for the Laser Tag!

Apparently Boo killed it! Maybe she should be a marksman. Lol. She had 81,000 points during one game!!! The next highest person was 34k! The school gave away prizes this year and Boo got one for her high score!

I went in and found them after the baby finished and we headed for glow-in-the-dark miniature golf.

I think this was only Boo's second time to miniature golf.

And Peanut's first.

Baby girl spent the next two hours like this. :)

Next we headed for lunch and bowling.

Check out this wind up. Haha!

I think Buggy got a couple spares! Peanut said she did too. :)

These were some of their prizes for Laser Tag. They were suckers. :)

They were so happy that Daddy took the day off! He makes everything more fun. :)

After bowling I headed for the car to feed the baby again and Daddy took the girls to the ropes courses.

Buggy and Boo went all the way to the top...three stories!

They played a few more rounds of Laser Tag before it was time to go. Daddy said Boo defected and went to play on the other team. :)

I set D in Peaches' car seat while I put away all her stuff and she was pretty happy. :)

We headed for Noni's to pick up Peaches and then headed home. What a fun (most of the) family day!

A Day in the Life

I haven’t done a day-in-the-life post in a long time, and definitely not since we became a family of seven so here goes…this was a Wednesday, and the second day baby started waking up in the 6am hour instead of 4.
4:14AM - roll over and look at the clock. Baby isn't crying. Open my monitor app. Yep still sleeping. Fall back asleep.
6:20 –  wake up to crying baby. Get her up. Nurse and pray (good excuse to keep my eyes closed, haha). Change her diaper. Start to nurse on the other side. Now that I'm a little more awake I can read do my bible reading. (A friend showed me a great read through the bible in a year app.) Ten minutes into the second side she poops so we go for another diaper change.
7:09 - I can hear little feet creeping up the stairs and into the school room. Sounds like Boo and Peaches. They are staying quiet so I finish feeding the baby...she's back asleep so I carefully lay her down.
7:25 – I lay back down for another few minutes of sleep while everything is still mostly quiet.
8:25 – must have fallen back to sleep, T is already up and ready for work.
8:30 – out of bed, head to the kitchen. Buggy is making pb&j toast for everyone for breakfast. T is outside in his dress clothes (in 26 degrees) making a few more cuts on the boards he didn't get finished the night before because he had a 7PM meeting. Haha.
8:40 - Get Peaches out of her wet Pullup and into her undies. This is supposed to be done when she first gets up, but an hour and half later works too, right? :P
8:45 – Eat breakfast with the girls. T heads to work. De-jelly-fy Peaches and the table, and her chair, and her cup.
8:55 – Check my email and get Peanut going on her school work. Get Vocab and Phonics done.
9:10 - Help Boo with History
9:25 - Time for Boo's class connect.
9:35 - Baby wakes up again. Go upstairs to get her. Peaches follows. Change a stinky diaper. Peaches wants to help. The stool doesn’t get her as high as she wants so she climbs up on the Diaper Genie. She wants to help get the diaper even though it is 6 inches away from my hand. She climbs down, slips but catches herself. “I’m ok!” Goes around me to get the diaper, climbs back into the Diaper Genie and hands it to me and declares, “I’m a good helper!”  Finish up with the baby and take her downstairs. Make it one step down, “Ma-ma! You haffta hold my hand!” Make it downstairs.
9:45 - Get my pillows and start feeding the baby at the school desks.
10:00 - Get Peanut's class connect up and going. Sit with her while she does it.
10:15 – Boo finishes her class connect, and gets going on her writing assignment.
10:18 – Peaches has been quiet, and out of sight, for several minutes. Send Bug to check on her since I'm still feeding the baby. Bug comes back with a mostly empty tube of toothpaste. "Guess who got into the toothpaste, AGAIN?" That makes four tubes now. And this one was up high in a cupboard above the toilet where she supposedly couldn't reach it. I’m beginning to think she can reach anything!
10:45 – Baby is finished eating. Peanut's class connect is finished. Buggy is doing work. Boo is done for the day (since she's been up since 7). Peanut and I start to work on Literature.
11:00 – Buggy starts her History Class Connect.
11:08 – Baby is getting fussy. Head upstairs to read her a book (Peaches cries because I forgot to let her pick it), get baby swaddled, and put her in bed. Fix the heater setting that Peaches has been messing with while reminding her not to touch it.
11:20 – Get the oven preheating for the favorite lunch of Dino Nuggets. Time for Math with Peanut while I'm waiting. Boo is playing downstairs with Peaches so she's good for the moment.
11:45 – Put the nuggets in the oven. Get everyone's waters filled up, bananas sliced onto four plates, make my spinach salad: tomatoes, cheese, honey mustard, and cut up Dino nuggets now that they are finished.
12:00 – Eat lunch, remind Peaches for the thousandth time that we don't just use our fingers as transportation for the ketchup and honey mustard...you must dip your nuggets in it.
12:30 – Consider bathing Peaches, but instead take a wet paper towel to her hands, arms, and face after peeling off the clothes that are smeared with "ketchup" (any condiments are ketchup).
12:45 – Baby wakes up and wants to eat again. Get her started while taking a break in my comfy chair.
1:00 – Buggy starts her Science Class Connect.
1:45 – Baby is finally finished and Peaches is 15 minutes late for her nap. Take her potty, get a Pullup on her and read her two books before getting her in bed.
2:05 - Try to leave...she wants just one more song, and for me to rub her back. Oblige and then exit to get the baby who has been happily laying on her Boppy spitting up so that she's completely soaked down to her shoulder blades. Change diaper and clothes, get a new bib. Fifth one of the day.
2:23 – Take baby in one arm and a load of baby's spit up laundry in the other and head downstairs and get the load started. Clean up lunch dishes.
2:30 – Get Peanut back to the school room for History.
2:32 – Baby is getting fussy again. Tell Peanut I'll be right back and do the book, swaddle, bed routine again. I can hear Peaches sing-song voice, "Momm-mmy I'm ah-way-ake!" Poke my head in the door and tell her to go to sleep. "But I'm awake!" Me: "Yes, but you haven't gone to sleep yet. Go to sleep please." Her: "Rub my back!" Me: "I already rubbed your back please go to sleep." Shut the door. She starts crying. Go downstairs and turn on her monitor. She's already stopped crying...must have figured out I meant it. :P
2:45 – Back to History
3:05 – Finished with History, and starting Art.
3:38 - Everyone is done for the day!
3:45 – Baby is awake again. Head upstairs to feed her. Big girls start working on their Stride (extra Math and ELA games) and once they do that for 20 minutes they can have computer time.
4:23 – Peaches wakes up and starts calling, "Mommy! I'm awake! I need to go potty!" Of course I'd just started nursing on the second side so I have to pause the poor baby and go get Peaches taken care of. She's not too happy about that.
4:45 –  Finish feeding the baby, quickly change her diaper and get downstairs to get dinner made. Thankfully I had already prepped the bean/meat/vegetable mixture so all I have to do is warm it up and get it into some tortillas with tomatoes, sour cream, spinach, and cheese for burritos. Wrap two up for T and put them in Boo's AWANA bag since he never makes it home for dinner on Wednesday nights now that we've moved. Gather his AWANA shirt, whistle, jeans, socks, and tennis shoes into a bag and ask Buggy to give it to him.
4:58 - Change the laundry.
5:00 - Ask girls for a five minute clean up before dinner.
5:10 - Sit down to eat with the girls.
5:15 - Noni arrives.
5:20 - Start the car. Get Peaches into socks, shoes, Cubbie vest, and coat. Tell everyone else to do the same.
5:30 - They're out the door and on their way to AWANA, thank goodness for Noni who has been taking them every week since the baby came! Get the baby down for a nap.
5:45 - Go back downstairs to get the dinner mess cleaned up. Apparently Peaches just picked at her dinner. Literally. :P

5:55 - Fold the laundry.
6:00 – Sit down to blog.
6:20 - Baby starts crying. Hope she goes back to sleep since she's not due to eat until 6:45.
6:35 – Still fussing off an on.
6:40 - Head upstairs to feed her, and check Facebook (the one time of day I allow myself to do it).
7:40 - She's finished eating. Change her diaper, get her into pajamas since she soaked herself again with spit up.
8:00 – Big girls are home. Flurry of pajamas, devotion, books, back rubs, songs, and "just one more" hug and kiss goodnight.  Baby has been contentedly laying in her basket watching the action.
8:48 – Turn out the light. Blow the last kiss. Head upstairs to get the baby down for her mini-nap. She will only sleep for 20-30 minutes at this time of day.
9:00 - Finish up blogging for the evening.
9:25 - Baby wakes up crying. Grab and apple and head upstairs. T gets the TV going and we watch a couple episodes of our latest show, "The Middle" while she has her last feeding, gets her diaper changed and is finally down for bed.
10:45 - Get myself ready for bed.
11:00 - Turn off the lights and then fall into bed praying that she will once again sleep till 6 and not regress (again).
Phew. :)

Leftover Thursday

I'm debating not putting a door on the pantry because you can't see it from 90 percent of the kitchen and I think it would just get in the way. The only thing that makes me want one is that it would keep little fingers out of the food! :P

Mood swings!

This little one gets SO mad if she wants something and doesn't get it quick enough. She screams so hard she makes her eyes all red and puffy in the time it takes me to wash my hands and get upstairs to get her out of bed. :P

Peek-a-boo laundry helper!

Noni has been coming on one of the dance days and taking the girls to church to alternate piano lessons between their classes. All three of the girls are showing huge growth and can play many songs! They're doing awesome!

Sweet sisters!

Happy Thursday! :)
