Leftover Thursday

Peaches found Peanut's mouse ears from her dance recital and was quite please with herself. :)

"Hi Mommy. What? You mean you wanted all these freshly washed and folded clothes put back in this hamper? I thought they would look much better all over the floor!"

Peanut had a playdate one day and I had the girls help me test out a new sugar cookie recipe for VBS.

They did a great job and I found out I needed 6 batches of dough to make enough hearts!

We play "Rabbits" with our girls. It's a game that comes from Multnoma Falls University and we learned it from our music director in high school. The  game is that the first person to say "rabbits!" on the 1st of each month wins. We found this by our door when we woke up on June 1st.

Wordless Wednesday

Every Spare Minute

Since school and all our activities ended we have been out at the farmhouse every spare minute. It seems like progress is slow since we can only go out for a couple hours each night and around our weekend activities. Especially when I have to pack up a picnic dinner, get everyone out there, unpack, keep them occupied, deal with boo-boos, etc., etc. 

 

One thing I have found that works well is the pack and play tent. The sheet keeps the bugs off and as long as she can't see anyone she will happily play in there for about an hour. If someone runs by though she decides she needs out right away and the whole plan falls to pieces. 

"Oh there you are Mommy! I was happy two seconds ago but now I need out!"

The girls do help us when we are able to find jobs they can physically do. One weekend we all spent hours leveling off and installing this extra leg of drain field. Since we'll be putting extra bedrooms on we had to upgrade the septic to a bigger one.

Thankfully it wasn't too hot that weekend or we would have been miserable doing all that!

And not such a good helper. Haha! My back can only stand about an hour of the hiking backpack, but it does keep her occupied long enough for me to get some things done.

Buggy fell and scraped up her leg really bad but didn't even cry...at least the farmhouse is toughening them up pretty well!

Here they are the day we were ready to turn on the water for the first time. We put in a new well pump since the old one was 30+ years old. We also dug new lines for a couple of frost free hydrants outside.

We've actually come up with a new plan. Instead of stretching ourselves thin money-wise and killing ourselves time/work wise we decided to break up our plan into a Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 will be finishing the house to 90% as is. We hope we can move in next summer. The girls will be in the basement sharing a room :/ and we will be upstairs with Peaches. Then we'll start Phase 2 which will be the addition: master suite and two car garage downstairs, four bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. 

We hope to complete that within the following year so if all goes according to plan (when does that ever happen? :P) we will be totally done two years from now. We're hopeful that it will work, but also trying to follow God's leading and stay within His will. That's the only way this will all work out! Prayers would be appreciated!

Father's Day at the Farm

For Father's Day we went out to the farm since all the family was going to be together for the first time since Christmas. We got there in time for bed on Friday night and the next morning after breakfast was eaten the kids were off and running. I love how well they all play together.

Peaches has hit that into-anything-and-everything phase and was hard to keep track of at the farm so she and I went shopping for some farmhouse supplies with Daddy and Uncle B on Saturday morning. I discovered the perfect play place for this age...Lowe's model kitchens! She loved it and had a ball opening ever drawer and cupboard!

Although I think she was disappointed that there was nothing inside to pull out. :)

When she tired of that game she toddled all over the store and found some good hiding places. One older couple walked by and he said, "$249 dollars?" and she said, "I bet she's worth every penny!" to which he replied, "Yeah but that's not the final ticket price!" Haha!

Daddy tried to help keep her occupied but it didn't last too long before she was off and running.

 

When we got back we discovered the "Cusin Clan" ;) had come up with a plan to raise some money...

Love it.

So much fun to be had at Grandma and Grandpa's!

Grandpa took us all out to see his new honeybees. They are supposed to help with crop production.

I never realized how big the rock pit was until the kids ran over and started climbing on them. You can barely see them in these pictures.

One of the favorite things to do at Grandma's is tell stories. She has started a tradition of telling stories in a round...each person adds a line. They absolutely LOVE it!

The next morning we did Father's Day presents in the living room. Auntie Nae figured out that we could move the couches and chairs to form a circle and keep Peanut trapped in a giant play pen where she couldn't do any damage to herself or others. :P

We got Daddy some books, candy, and a "one tool to rule them all". 

The "circle of trust" worked fabulously for Peaches and she was perfectly content as long as someone was in there with her.

Silly Grandpa!

Cousin S is getting so grown up! She's going into high school next year! Seems like she was the one toddling around not so long ago. The girls just adore her.

I totally forgot to get a picture of T and the girls on Father's Day. Whoops. 

Happy Father's day to all the amazing father's in our life! We are thankful for each and every one of you! And especially to our own amazing Daddy who does so much for our little family. He works so hard to take care of us! We love you Daddy!

Shoes

Peaches  has discovered a love of shoes. She finds the girls shoes all over the house and has started to put them on. The way she does it is so cute though. Instead of bringing the shoe to her foot she brings her foot to the shoe. So funny.
