"Knock Knock" - Part 1

Ok I'm finally starting a funny sayings series for Peaches! I'm calling it "Knock knock" because whenever she tells a joke she thinks she has to start with knock knock even if it isn't a knock knock joke. :)

Since she started talking so late I don't have as many written down for her. These first ones go back over a year when she was only two. Here we go...

July 16th
The train arms came down and no train was coming. We waited a couple of minutes and then they went back up. Bug said, "What the heck?" Peaches had just started talking and didn't say a whole lot back then but repeated, "Wha a heck? Where train? Wha a heck?" And unfortunately it became a favorite phrase for a long time. :P

August 26th
Drama was SUPER high that morning. Bug couldn't find something to wear. She said she wasn't hungry so she wouldn't eat. I made her eat. Peaches all the while is yelling at her, "EAT! Not be yate!"

September 11th
Peaches loves to do puzzles. She had worked a little 24 piece manger scene one at Noni's and then ran to the cabinet to get out another one. She pointed to 1000 piece puzzle and told Noni, "Let's do this too-big-for-me-one!"

January 11th
Peaches came running into the kitchen while I was making lunch. "Guess what Mommy? I hiding and eating a treat!" as she smacks her chocolate covered lips. At least she's honest? :P

January 14th
The girls discovered that Alexa will have Jimmy (Fallon) tell jokes if you ask her. Most of them are cute and funny and we all laugh. Sometimes one of the big girls will say, "I get it!" and laugh. This particular time Peaches heard the joke and said, "I don't get it! Haha! That's so funny!"

Oh and this one is recent, but I'll include it because it goes with the picture...
August 8th
Sitting on Noni and Papa's deck. "Noni what's that smelly smell?" Noni: "The barn." Peaches, "Oh! I didn't know the barn poops!"

Bonus
A few words she says that I love...bress-kiss (breakfast), jumpoline (trampoline), snow hands (mittens)

"Fetch"

Lou is always throwing toys overboard, but the other day I realized that she actually knows what she is doing and is doing it on purpose! She thought it was hilarious! So did Peaches! :)

Leftover Thursday

Peanut put thogether all these puzzles by herself!

One day we went for a walk and played at the playground for about an hour while the big girls had their voice lessons. It was 96 degrees out and Peaches was hot and flushed by the time we left. I have no idea if that was the problem or what, but she started crying and saying her stomach hurt. She cried all the way home, and ate a small lunch and kept crying off an on. I was trying to figure out what to do for her and had her lay on the couch when she all the sudden started throwing up.

I can't even remember the last time she threw up and apparently she didn't know what to do because she didn't even try to sit up. For a second she was just throwing up and choking on it before I jerked her upright. She was covered, the couch was covered. I stripped her down and put her in the kitchen sink and gave her a bath. She was acting so tired that finally got her cleaned up and just laid her down on my bed. She went right to sleep and slept for over two hours and then popped awake like nothing happened...unfortunately the new couch didn't recover as well. :P Heat exhaustion?! I've been careful since then to make sure she doesn't overheat and we've had no further incidents.

Lou pulls up on everything now...including people. Unfortunately for Peaches she is pretty strong and can knock her right over. Lol. We keep having to reiterate, "She's just a baby. She's not trying to knock you over." when Peaches says, "Mommy! She's being mean to me!"

On Peanut's special day she got to spend the night at Noni's, with her new mermaid tail. :)

And they went shopping and to Chuck E. Cheese where she got the new high score on the skee ball! Way to go!

Peaches pulled up for the first time at Noni and Papa's when Daddy and the big girls were at a baseball game.

Such a big girl!

Her top two teeth came in right after she turned 9 months! Thankfully she got them with no complaints or early wakeups like the bottom two!

Happy Thursday! :)

The Fair!

This year our church tried something new and had an information booth at the local fair! Noni signed up for a shift on Friday and the three big girls went with her!

After naptime Peaches, Lou, and I headed up to meet them. We went around looking at all the animals.

The girls loved the soft bunnies!

Lou was apparently flabbergasted by the goats. Haha.

A lot of times when she sees something new she just stares really hard...no smile...just a long stare.

And often she looks to me for reassurance.

Peaches and Peanut wanted to pet every sheep and goat.

One sweet girl let Peaches spray her pig down with water.

And a boy that used to be in Bug's dance class let them pet his horse.

And this was his little calf. So cute!

Peaches loves chickens!

Noni took them to do the bounce house while I rounded up some dinner. After we ate hamburgers and elephant ears Noni took the four of them plus their friend F home for a sleepover!

It was a fun night at the county fair!

P.S. T wasn't there because he ran to town for supplies and to pick up the kittens from getting the neuter surgery. I thought they would be calm and sedated...but apparently it was quite the opposite! He sent this pic while we were at the fair. LOL!

9 Months!

9 months brings more movement! I was pulling out all the stops to get her to sit still for these pictures and I had to put her back in a sitting position about ten times! There she goes!

She is a mover and shaker! She is crawling much faster now and pulling up on everything.

She has finally started waking up happier in the mornings and not just screaming the minute she opens her eyes. :P

She is super persistent and will keep going after whatever she wants until she is physically taken away. She also has toes like daggers and will literally climb up the person holding her to reach whatever she's after!

She is an awesome eater and has actually gone up the chart! She is 17 lbs. 8 oz. at the 40th percentile (up from 32%), and is 28 inches long in the 67% (down from 75%).

She loves to be down on the floor, crawling to whatever catches her eye. She also loves to be held by Mommy and carted around the house. She does not however love to sit with Mommy...she has to keep moving!

She is our funny silly girl and brings so much joy to our household!

She still has her fussy times but has gotten SO much better than she used to be!

We can't get enough of this little cutie!

Our Little "Foodie"

Well I am sold on baby led weaning. Lou is BY FAR our best eater. She eats anything and everything!

And more importantly she loves it! She will sit for an hour happily chomping away! And it's so easy...no spoon feeding baby while my food gets cold. She eats what we eat for the most part and is totally content to sit there as long as we are in sight.

Yes she makes a huge mess, but that is just part of it. The dieticians say it is really important for babies to make messes and get those tactile experiences. They say it's really important for their sensory development and it's a two for one bonus...eating and play time.

The only thing we've found that she doesn't like is broccoli and eggs. Her favorties are strawberries, bread, and kiwi in that order. But she pretty much loves all fruit and will eat anything we give her.

She loves Mexican food! Haha.

With Baby Led Weaning the only things they aren't supposed to have are salt, sugar, and honey. Other than that it's fair game. So for most meals I pull out her portion before salting it and we're good to go.

You're supposed to push iron because almost all babies are deficient in it (hence "iron fortified" baby cereals). Lou likes meat and beans so she does pretty well getting that iron in.

It's really fun to watch her eat. She is so funny.

We'll see if she continues to be a better eater as she gets older!
