Basketball Games

It was so fun to watch Peanut play basketball! Especially since they won quite a few games! Our school is so tiny that it is rare for us to have a winning season but this was an exception! I think they won 6 games and only lost 2! It was a really good experience for Peanut to be on the team and I'm so glad she decided to go for it!

She gained a lot of skills over the short season!

This team had some really good players, but we managed to consistently stay ahead of them the whole game.

Peanut got to shoot two free throws and swished them both! Boo took a video from where she was standing in the doorway so these next three pictures are screenshots from that.

Swish!

This was a super exciting game! This is one of the best teams in the league and I honestly wasn't expecting our kids to do well at all but they stepped it up and gave them a run for their money!

This whole game was neck and neck, back and forth, and the suspense was intense!

Peanut consistently scored one or two baskets per game and made over half of her free throws through the season!

We pulled off the win! Whoo hoo!

All of their games were so fun to watch because they played so well! This was another neck and neck game. They had a couple of big boys, and both teams were held to a pretty low score.

We were up by three and they scored which took us to 25 to 24. Then we missed our shot and they had the ball under their hoop with 7 seconds to go. They shot...and missed!  And we won by one point! The fans went wild!

Okay I'm going to put these pictures a little out of order because I have too many tournament pictures to tack them on the end of that post...

After basketball was over they had awards one day after school. I had a deaconess meeting but T was able to take off early and go. Peanut got the "Best Help Defense" award. The coaches were so happy with how much her defense had improved. They also said that when they were planning awards it was going to be either that or "Most Improved Player". They wanted to give her both but went with the defense because she did such a good job at it!

They played a parents vs. players game.

I wish I could have been there to see it! T said they had a lot of fun!

And the parents won! Haha!

What a wonderful season!! I'll post the tournament pictures next week.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

These pictures got lost in the shuffle of all the sports and other stuff we have going on. We celebrated Daddy's birthday with donuts that morning.

Then his coworkers took him out to lunch and made him wear the hat. Haha. One of them sent me this picture. :)

Peanut had a basketball game but he had a board meeting that afternoon so he wasn't able to come. We all met back at home for dinner, apple crisp, and presents.

The girls got him a baseball puzzle...

And a subscription to Mariners TV! Now he can watch all of their baseball games! Lou drew this picture of him watching baseball while sitting on the couch eating popcorn...which I've never seen him do, haha, but must be the ultimate form of relaxation to her. :)

Here she is explaining it.

He's very excited to be able to watch games!

Peaches got him this tiny tape measure that can go on a key ring. She and Noni found it on Peaches' special day.

I got him the Lego Jazz Club which he was very excited about because it has been discontinued and he was afraid he missed it. He also got some birthday money from Pawpaw, and Home Depot gift cards from Noni, Papa, and Mama! He's planning on building an entertainment cabinet for the upstairs and needs some sort of big tool to do it so that will come in handy!

We spent the rest of the evening doing a Dr. Mario tournament. :)

We are thankful for the best Daddy and husband!!

Leftover Thursday

Now that the foggy days of winter are over we have been having some gorgeous sunsets! Peanut likes to take pictures of them from the car.

This one looks like the glory of heaven coming down!

Anytime we have a warm day the littles go outside to play soccer. They are excited for their season to start!

We got to go to a play with some friends the other day! Noni came with us too!

It was Mrs. D and her three teens, and then she also brought two other kids from the drama club group.

This was a special middle of the day showing so there were lots of homeschool groups. The cast was all children and they did an AMAZING job! I was so impressed! And I couldn't believe the size of their cast! There must have been 50-60 kids! At the end they all came on stage and there was barely room for them all.

I hadn't been planning to pull Peanut out of school but Mrs. D had an extra ticket and really wanted Peanut to come see the play since she is the lead in our play this year. Peanut wasn't too upset to miss school and hang out with her friends, haha.

We had a crazy Saturday a couple weeks ago. Peanut had a birthday party to attend from 3-5, and the little ones had a birthday party to attend from 2-4. They had spent the night at Noni's and she took them to their birthday party which was half an hour away. T picked them up later and Boo picked up Peanut because I was getting the house ready for our own party.

We tried a new thing at church called Guess Who's Coming for Dinner where people signed up to be hosts or guests and then got matched with other families. So that Saturday at 5PM people started knocking on our door. The hosts made the main dish and the guests brought the sides and dessert. It was SO fun and we had a great time with the three families we got! We played a new game called The Bible is Funny and had a blast! Everyone at church is hoping we will do it again sometime!

Happy Thursday!

Lou Laughs - Part 14

 January 5th, 2025

We were talking about our upcoming Disneyland trip while making cookies. E: "I can't even imagine how much fun it will be!" D: "My life is going to be SO surprised!" E: "Huh?" (trying to be polite) D: "E. My life. MY LIFE! Is going to be so surprised!!"

February 1st

She was pestering me really bad. Me: "D. Please stop pestering me. You just need to wait." D: "But I'm not a waiter! I'm a beggar!"

March 13th

D: "What are we having for dinner Mommy?" Me: "Hilo chicken." D: "What?! But I don't like that." E: "D! It's ok! We'll just make the most of it!" Later at Noni and Papa's house they were gathering eggs and came back in with a bunch of them. D: "This one is still warm Mommy! I just lift the chicken's bum up to get it!"

March 16th

She had her St. Patrick's Day shirt on with a big four leaf clover on it that was made out of smaller clovers. Her: "Look E! I have a shirt of clubs!" Me: "What did you say?" Her: pointing "Clubs!" Me: "Oh. Yeah you're right when we play cards those are called clubs but otherwise they are called clovers."

April 9th

D: "Is it lunchtime yet?" Me: "No, not even close." D: "Not even close!?" Me: "No. It's only 9:26. We just ate breakfast. D: "Oh yeah. That makes sense because there's still chia seeds stuck in my teeth!"

April 17th

Eating lunch. "Mommy, it's really hard because the tooth that is loose is my favorite tooth that I like to chew with!"

April 18th

She came down the stairs at 7:30AM rubbing her eyes and looking dazed. Very seriously she looks at me and Boo. "Guys. I am not dreaming. I just saw a turkey chicken out my window." We look out and see a pheasant heading into the field. Me: "That's a pheasant." Her: "Oh good! I was really worried about that turkey chicken!"

Spirit Week!

Boo and Peanut had Spirit week at school and Boo got to help choose all the themes since she is on ASB. They had fun dressing up every day and made multiple trips to Goodwill...and the Grange...and my closet to help them dress the parts, haha. Monday was pajama day. I didn't get any pictures of that one. Tuesday was childhood memories. They dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom and their friend S dressed as Lemon Meringue. So cute! They won first prize that day! (Their principal took all of these pictures.)

Wednesday was decades day. Peanut went with the 80's and Daddy took her to Goodwill where she found an awesome windbreaker. I'm pretty sure I had the exact same jacket in the 80's, haha. She also found a yellow shirt that had shoulder pads! We braided her hair in tiny braids the night before so she could have crimped hair and I did a side half up. She won for her class!

Boo went with the 50's and got the poodle skirt out of the Grange. She also won her class that day.

Thursday was class color day. Each class was assigned a color. Boo was purple.

Peanut was red.

But the Freshman won that day...the boys ordered Lorax costumes. Lol! Too funny!

Friday was red, white, and blue. Here is Boo's class.

And the whole school.

They had such a fun week! I'm so thankful for this awesome school that lets them have silly fun while teaching them about Jesus in addition to all the things they need to know! We are very blessed to have such a wonderful Christian school so close to our house!
