Camping-Part 2

After the big storm and our rough night I could tell I was going to be a little snippy with the girls if I didn’t get a little cat nap so while Peanut went down for her morning nap I did a little bible reading and took a short nap myself.

Everybody else went fishing.  Noni got some funny video of Boo.  I’ll have to see if I can get it to load later. I came out to find them all back at the campsite playing cards.

camping39

Peanut joined right in the fun. Silly Daddy. :)

camping40

We decided to roast hot dogs for lunch.  You can’t go camping without roasting hot dogs!  I had to kill a few yellow jackets before I could sit down. :)

camping41

camping42

Big groups use the campgrounds and this must be the campsite they reserve because it had lots of benches around the fire.  The camp host said he had just had a group of 160 teenage girls go through the weekend before! I’m guessing their weekend wasn’t as peaceful and relaxing as ours. :)

camping43

Peanut discovered the joy of gnawing on a whole apple…assisted by Noni. Love Boo’s sassy little pose here. :)

camping44

Bug is looking to join the Future Swatters of America club or FSA.

camping46

So proud! :)

camping45

Peanut and I feeling much better after our nap!

camping48

It is getting harder and harder to read to my girls!  I can barely see the book through their hair, but I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything!  We spend at least an hour (off and on) reading books every day!

camping49

We finally figured out that Peanut could crawl around inside the tent and not get into too much…just Noni and Papa’s suitcases!  These pictures were taken through the window screen.

camping50

Happy, mischievous girl!

camping51

Noni and I went on a short walk and brought back some tiny frogs!  Sorry Auntie Karen!  I love frogs.

camping52

But I think Bug shares your distaste for them. :)

camping53

She refused to hold one because she said she didn’t want to have to wash her hands.

We named them Alfred, Herman, and Kermit. These little guys were all over the place!  Probably hundreds of them down by the beach. (and now Aunt Karen will never come camping here with us:)

camping54

Boo thought they were cute.

camping55

Buggy at least let us hold them next to her for a picture.

camping56

Gag alert: apparently “Hold your hands together and don’t touch anything until we get them washed” filtered into Boo’s ears as “I think it would be a good idea if you LICK your hand!”

Yeah.  She licked her hand after holding the frog. I looked up Salmonella on WebMD and have been watching her for symptoms but she seems to be just fine. Little stinker. :P

Noni and the girls played a fun Drop-and-Hug game with Peanut.

camping57

As you can see she LOVED it! I love how happy Bug is just watching her.

camping58

They took turns hugging her on the way up and down.

camping59

She laughed and laughed!

camping60

Later she decided to play cards with Noni and Boo.

camping61

Future card sharp?

camping62

Boo found a ladybug.  Or maybe it found her. :)

camping64

camping65

T taught Bug how to play Slap Jack.

camping66

I had to watch my hands so she didn’t slap THEM!

camping67

Of course the girls can never sit on the ground with T very long before they all start wrestling and roughhousing.  I’m glad he’s willing to do that with them because they love it and I definitely do NOT enjoy knees and elbows flying into me!

camping69

Peanut wanted to get in on the action too. :)

camping70

Rest break!

camping71

At it again! T dropped his wallet and said, “Ah HA! So that’s how you are going to get all my money out of me!” :)

camping72

We had such a wonderful, restful afternoon.  It was so peaceful out there.  I loved it.

Before we left I went online to get fun ideas for camp food. Campfire Cones and campfire Churros were two of the things we did.  They actually both worked really well and tasted great!

camping73

The sun was setting and was so pretty so I decided to go on a sunset hunt for my friend Rachel…here you go!  Sunset from the Great Northwest!

camping74

T, K, and I started to walk out to the point I had been to the day before and found a flock of Canadian Geese in this marshy area that is usually under water.

camping76

We startled them so they flew off into the sunset.

camping77

We also found one of the Blue Herons soaking up the last rays of sun for the day.  He was in the one strip of light just staring at the sunset.  I guess animals can appreciate the beauty too.

camping78

The sky was too clear and clean for a colorful sunset, but it looked so pretty reflecting off the water.

camping79

camping80

After we got the girls in bed for the last night (Bug and Boo back in the tent so we could sleep, haha) we made a nice campfire and enjoyed the warmth.  T was taking pictures of the fire…

camping82

And found the Google logo. :)

camping81

And then tried to blind me, but I was too quick for him!

camping10

Our last night we slept like babies.  Even the baby. :)

camping83

Boo helped Daddy make us a delicious breakfast of pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, and sausage. Yum.

camping86

Here’s the inside of our little cabin.

camping85

The girls were sad to pack up but we assured them we will be back!

camping87

Noni wanted us to take a picture with this carved bear. :)  There were several different carved things all over the camp.  I’m always amazed at how they do that with chainsaws!

camping88

While I was feeding Peanut before we left, Papa and Noni decided to climb this big tree stump!

camping89

I’m impressed they got up there! I don’t know if I could!

camping90

I thought this picture T took was so cute! :)

camping91

One group picture and it was time to say Goodbye to the campground.

camping92

Such a great trip.  Thanks so much for the fun time Noni and Papa!  We had an awesome time!
