A Two Te!

We have a spare Te for emergencies and Peanut discovered this a while ago. Now we refer to them as bed Te or car Te.  Occasionally they end up in the same place and the veil is torn. :)

The other day they somehow both landed in the kitchen and she was SO excited! She was shouting, “I have two Te! I have TWO TE!”

She kept hugging and squeezing them and insisted on sleeping with both of them for her nap.

After she woke up I made a big deal of taking car Te back to his (car)home. I didn’t want her to need BOTH Te’s at all times…then we would have to go find a spare Te #3!

“Counting”

Peanut is counting! For some reason the magic number is 13. Every time she gets to 13 and then gets mixed up.  It’s usually 13, 16. Although once you get her in the 20’s she can go up to 25. Funny girl. :)

Sheep and Shepherds

Whew! What a crazy busy Christmas season! We have had something going nearly every day of the month of December! On top of our “normal” schedule of homeschooling, preschool, Awana, dance, etc. we had SIX performances to attend and be a part of.

When we got home on Sunday afternoon my immediate thought was, “Ok, what’s next?” because my brain has been constantly working to keep everyone on schedule and get everyone where they need to be for practices, performances, etc.

It has been really fun though! I love watching the girls perform and I’m really happy that they are so comfortable getting up in front of people!

First up was Noni’s Preschool Sunday School.

Boo is the oldest and led the others in an adorable rendition of Away in a Manger.

The K-2 Sunday School was up next. They had an adorable baby Jesus!

“Baby Jesus” was SO cute because when they all gathered around to look at her she tilted her head back to see them.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas”

Last weekend, T, K, Papa, and I were all part of our church’s Christmas production of a 1940’s musical!  It was a LOT of work, but it was so much fun!

It was an interesting play because it was set during Pearl Harbor and half the stage was a family’s living room, and the other half was the “radio studio”. 

Papa and K were in the drama and T and I were a part of the choir. T was also the news announcer, giving the war updates.

The week of the play we had a full run through on Sunday, and a full dress rehearsal on both Tuesday and Thursday.  Then the play was performed Friday and Saturday night!  My throat was getting sore and worn out by the end! Singing for hours every day…I haven’t done that since the good old high school days of choir tour!

Bug was the only kid in the play and she did an AMAZING job!  She was so cute and funny!  Everybody loved her!

Here is a little snippet I caught during dress rehearsal. 

The play had lots of solos, duets, and trios. Here is one of the trios I got to be a part of. It’s amazing how long this short song took for us to get down! The first time we tried it we didn’t think it was possible to sing so many words in so few measures, but we eventually got it and it was fun to sing!

Here is a part of my solo/duet. I was Miss Stella Ashton and had to sing a very dramatic, lonely hearts type song. :)

And here is one of the funniest scenes…it was called “Switching Stations” and “Grandpa” was supposed to be listening to a church service while home sick, but he wanted to listen to a comedy show. We had to sing Hark the Herald Angels Sing in an off-key, out of tune way. It was surprisingly difficult!

Then I, as part of the trio again, had to sing a Coffee commercial, and they would change the channel back and forth.  The funniest part though, was our Pastor singing the opera. It was hilarious. The scene ends when T, as the news announcer breaks in with the news that Pearl Harbor was hit.

Away In a Manger

“I larious!”–Part 1

It’s time for the first installment of funny sayings by Peanut! I’ve been waiting for a title to pop into my head before I started posting these and tonight she said something that made us laugh and she laughed too saying, “I funny! I larious (hilarious)!”

These first ones I have recorded are funnier if you remember they were all said before she was two. The first one was at 19 months. Hopefully you all find them funny…I could see if you didn’t because half of her funny-ness is just the adorable way she does/says things!

April 11th

Noni likes Coke, and often has one at our house. Peanut went to throw away a piece of garbage she found and when she pulled open the garbage drawer she saw a coke bottle in the recycling behind it and yelled out, “NONI!”

June 1st

She came over to me and put her face on my hands to make sure I was paying attention. “MOMMY! PAY! ME! NICE!” Me: “You’re going to play nicely?” A: “Yeah.” and toddles off.

June 17th

We always encourage the girls to say thank you when a waiter/waitress brings them something. This is one of those “you know you might be eating out too much when…” your 22 month old receives her water cup and says, “Tank oo Pablo!” (the waiter’s name).

June 20th

I think I might have mentioned this one when I blogged about it…but when we were at the airport heading to Florida for Uncle Sean’s wedding we were talking about where the luggage was going. The girls could see it being loaded onto the plane and I pointed, “See? It’s going in there, in the belly of the plane.” Peanut was VERY excited about that and for the next thirty minutes, ran around pulling up her shirt…flashing the plane and fellow passengers and yelling, “AIH PANE! BEL-YEE!”

June 28th

At the end of that trip we had explained that we were heading back to the airport to get on a plane and go home.  Apparently we should have clarified…our plane would be leaving the next day. We were driving towards the airport to return the rental car and she saw a plane taking off. In a panicked voice she yelled, “HU-WEE DADDY! Pane go bye-bye!”

Small Town Christmas

Well I have literally tried a over a dozen times to upload that last video of Bug’s and it just won’t go for some reason. :/

Here are some pictures from our little town’s Christmas kick-off celebration (two weeks ago now!). Both the girls did one dance, and our church Christmas choir (of which T and I are a part) sang a medley. Peanut was the only one in our family who didn’t get to perform on stage and she was NOT happy about it! She cried so pitifully (but briefly) when we wouldn’t let her go on stage and did not understand why she didn’t get a turn!

Not everyone could make it on a Sunday evening but here are the girls from Bug’s hip hop that were there.

Bug’s group had to sit on the sideline while the older girls did their dance. I thought they looked cute admiring the advanced group.

They did a great job and I think it helped them “get their feet wet” for the recital the following week.

Every year our Pastor goes up with all the kids and tells them the Christmas story. It’s hard to see but Peanut’s head is poking up there behind the boy in the yellow shirt. At least she got to see what it was like on stage. Haha :) Bug and Boo are right next to her, but you can’t see them.

Preschool Program

We’ve just had one performance after the other the last few weeks, and it’s still going!

Boo’s little preschool program was last Tuesday. Noni, Papa, and Mama came out for it. Grandma and Grandpa had just been here a two days before (for the dance recital) so we took video for them.

I am so glad that Boo has this year in preschool. Ms. J is an amazing preschool teacher and I think it has been so good for Boo to have this special time that is just hers.

Here’s Mama, Noni, Peanut, and Bug waiting for it to start…this is one of Bug’s many not-smiling for the camera faces. We’ve been working on that…

And the sweet little preschoolers! They were so cute up there!

Boo is the oldest, and the only one who will be graduating this year. The others are all 3/4 and will have another year of preschool.

Ms J is so thoughtful! She does this every year…a dinner for the families and grandparents. She had the church decorated so nicely and a wonderful dinner with Christmas cupcakes for dessert (the girls favorite part!). So nice!
