Baseball Game!

 Roller skating was just our first activity of the day. After we finished there we went to Qdoba for lunch. Then we stopped at Krispy Kreme. If you take your report card in there you can get up to 6 free donuts for A's. So between Boo, N, and Peanut we got 18 free donuts. 

 When we pulled in I was wondering why so many people were wanting donuts on a Friday afternoon, but when we got inside and saw the signs we realized it was National Donut Day and they were giving away a free donut to each person so besides the 18 we were already getting we each got a free one hot off the conveyor belt AND we got to choose a fancier one from the case! So all in all we ended up with 32 free donuts!! 

 

 

Then it was on to Costco for a few things.

 

 

 Then we went to Noni and Papa's to drop the little girls off for a sleepover. Bug and F were both home so they all went upstairs and played a board game with them while Noni and I played cards with Mama. Dumpy the hedgehog was awake so the girls got to play with him. :)

We met Daddy at Walmart and all headed to a baseball game! It was an absolutely perfect night for baseball. It was warm, but not hot and just a gorgeous evening! Everyone wanted pictures in front of this sign. :)

 

 

We made an agreement with N's parents that he and Boo would only do "group dating" for the first year so Peanut and his sister K are having a blast chaperoning all their dates, haha. K is so sweet and is going to be in Peanut's class next year! I'm so happy they'll get to be at school together! 

 

 

They said T and I needed a picture as well. :) 

 

 

We got there pretty early, but it didn't end up filling up too much and we had room to stretch out. Uncle B and Aunt M were able to join us as well! 

 

 

Meanwhile Lou and Peaches were having fun at Noni's and got to watch a little TV before bed. 

 

 

 It was such an enjoyable and relaxing night! A perfect night for baseball!

 

 

And afterwards there was a ten minute fireworks show! They did a great job!

End-of-Year Skate Party!

 The girls were all excited for the end-of-year roller skating party! The big girls because it was their last day of school, and the little girls because it's a fun outing. :) Boo's boyfriend N and his sister K., and the O family all met up at our house at 8:30 that morning. Peanut and K went in the O family car and we swapped them for A who rode in our car. We made the trek to the roller rink and within minutes they were all out on the floor!

 

 

M needed a little help. :) 

 

 

Peaches tried roller skates first, but then switched to roller blades. 

 

 

It's really fun because the school rents out the whole rink and they play Christian music the whole time.

I'm not sure if they planned it but A matched Lou and Peaches and their other friend had a different one of the VBS shirts. :)

 The little ones brought money this year so they could play some of the arcade games. 

 

 

They got a bunch of candy and tickets that they traded in for some trinkets. 

 

 

They always hand out report cards at the end. These three were happy with their straight A's! Great job everyone!

These kids are so incredible at "turning it on". They can be relaxing and goofing around one minute and professional and on point moments later! 

 

 

 

Lou had a blast hanging out with everyone all weekend. She was there with me the entire time. We did 7 hours on Friday and 10 hours on Saturday!

Hair and makeup...this year was tough because I had to fix Peanut's hair before each show and then she would take it down during the show to be a pirate so I would have to re-do it between shows. I grabbed this picture because Lou was playing with Peanut's makeup and putting it all over her face. She was glittery all day. :) 

 

 

Lunch break!  

 

 

I was in charge of the cast party again this year. We did our traditional taco bar and I decorated with a Pirate theme and grabbed the pirate flag and "The Petunia" flag from the props closet when we were tearing down. It was funny to be back in here for the first time since Bug's wedding! It looked a little different this time. :)

 

 

 

Everyone was exhausted, but also running on post-show adrenaline. 

 

 

We all enjoyed visiting and talking about the show and all the little quirks. The kids did a fabulous job ad-libbing whenever there was a missed line or prop. One of my favorites was when Roger forgot his pen during one show when he was supposed to be signing a document. He said, "Uh...hold on. I need to go pluck a chicken!" and ran off stage to grab his feather pen with a loud, "Bawk!" Lol!

And then they did their secret pal gift and compliment exchange.

 

 

 

It was a wonderful celebration of the culmination of a four month long project! I know I keep saying it but we are so thankful for this group and so blessed to be a part of it! We're already looking forward to next year!!

The Pirate Queen! - Part 5

 Boo, Lou, and I watched all four performances and loved every one! Noni, Papa, Mama, Miss L, Bug, F, Uncle B, Aunt M, and Grandpa all got to come to one of the shows. Lou and I also handed out programs and sold concessions at each of the shows. She loved being my helper and did a great job handing out licorice, cookies, and brownies, depending on what people bought. 

 I am always a little relieved and a little sad when a show is over and the final bows are taken. SO MUCH time is put into these performances and I am so grateful for the lifetime memories our girls are making in Drama Club! They are so blessed to be a part of it! And we are so proud of them and all their hard work! I love watching them up there shining bright!

This year we had 15 homeschoolers, 6 from the public school, and 2 from Peanut and Boo's school. A great group of kids, and adults!
