Parade!

The girls were so excited to see the parade! Because of Covid the towns didn't do floats this year, but I heard that the high schoolers in our town decided we couldn't have a parade without a float so a bunch of families stayed up until midnight the few days before and got a float together. It was Cinderella themed and the girls loved it!

I think even the teenagers liked it. :)

Daddy, Boo, and Peanut walked in the parade for the hospital and handed out candy and water. They threw us extra candy!

We thought this was so funny...we ran into Bug's friend L and they were totally twinning! The reason it was so funny is because the same thing happened years ago! Here's the blog post from it.

Our town just got a new pizza place! Everyone was so excited that they sold out all their ingredients for a week in just two days! They finally got more but it was still so crowded it was taking 1-2 hours to get pizza so we hadn't been able to try it yet.

The parade day T went straight over as soon as the parade was finished and got in line. The person behind him was the cut off for pizza so we just made it! It was well worth the wait...gourmet pizza and it was SO good! We are looking forward to going back and trying some other kinds!

While we were there Peaches fell off her stool and was crying hysterically. Since she does that at least once a day I wasn't too sympathetic, but then the next day I felt really bad when I noticed a a baseball sized blueish-purple splotch on her thigh! Whoops.

Our town also got a snow cone stand recently and for one reason or another we have never been able to hit it when it's open. So we tried the new pizza and the new snow cones all in one day!

Kid approved!

Such a fun day!

Chalk Contest

We were excited that the town days were able to happen this year! It wasn't quite as big as usual but it was still lots of fun! We started off with the chalk contest!

We met up with some friends and had fun doing chalk together.

Peanut had designed her picture and practiced it at home so she was ready to go! It was an elephant being lifted into the air by balloons and she wrote the verse, "With God all things are possible!"

Peaches wanted to do a unicorn. She started with this one but it was turning out pretty small so I talked her into doing a bigger one.

And she won first prize for the 1-5 age category with her rainbow unicorn!!!  She was SO excited!

Lou was hilarious. She absolutely refused to draw anywhere except the circle where they had written the number to mark the square. There had to be twenty layers of chalk on it by the time we were done. :P

The only bad thing about the chalk contest is that they do the squares in age groups now so if you have more than one kid in different age groups they are spread out down the street. Thankfully our friends were able to split up and the dad stayed with his older two and Peanut while the mom and I stayed with the little ones.

Boo's friend R was able to spend the night and hang out with us all that day. They always have a great time together. They were in the highest age group and across the street so I could keep an eye on them. They worked really hard and did a beautiful job!

Boo did the perfect drawing for this this farm community!

This is a fun group of kids!

Here is Peanut's finished product. :)

After you turn in your chalk you get a popscicle so we walked around and checked out all the drawings because I did not want Lou getting into the car with it. Haha.

It was a good choice. Haha.

1st Re-birthday

Peaches got to celebrate her 1st re-birthday a couple weeks ago! She was so proud and excited. :)

We had blueberry scones and a couple presents for her.

She got a new Odyssey!

And a Shine-the-Light book. She loves those!

We were thankful to be able to celebrate this sweet girl's re-birthday!

Leftover Thursday

The other day everyone was outside briefly before bed and not wearing play clothes so I told them not to get dirty. Unfortunately Peaches somehow slipped in some mud from where Boo had watered the garden. :P I don't know if she was more sad about falling or getting dirty.

We used the berries from our berry exchange to make jam. We got one batch of raspberry and one batch of strawberry. Lou wanted to help. :)

We love freezer jam! I just think it tastes better than traditional canning and it's much easier to make!

Peanut gathered some clay when we were down at the lake one day and made a little cup! Pretty clever!

The kids threw together a volleyball after church one day while the parents were talking.

Peanut did this beautiful chalk drawing in the garage the other day...so pretty!

Happy Thursday! :)

Birthday

Noni and Aunt Karen set up the sweetest little birthday party for me! It was polka dot themed...my favorite!

They also made German chocolate cupcakes...another favorite!

I had some good help with the candle blowing out. :)

I feel like the girls didn't used to like German chocolate that much but they all ate them up so maybe it's growing on them. :)

Aunt Karen is always so much fun!

Peanut is our DIY girl. She made me some string art out of scrap wood and some nails Daddy gave her. So sweet!

She painted it periwinkle...my favorite color. :)

Daddy and the girls got me adorable salt and pepper shakers, new Birkenstock type sandals, a cool air fryer accessory kit, bath salts, and a really fun butter dish!

Noni and Papa got me a super cute polka dot shirt and beautiful blue sweater and Aunt K got a me a fun new dress!

Such a wonderful birthday!! I am very blessed!

Noni and Aunt K took the girls back to our house and spent the night and T and I were able to go out to dinner to celebrate the birthday and our anniversary. We wanted to go to Thai food but it was closed so we ended up at Texas Roadhouse and then we walked around the At Home store for a solid hour. It was the first time I've ever been able to look at everything in there without rushing through. It was quite pleasant. Haha. A great birthday!!
