Snow Sprinkles and Books

The other day we looked out the window and huge fat flakes were coming down! T and the girls bundled up but by the time they got outside it was just regular snow. They still had fun trying to catch some snowflakes though!

Haha!

I don't think this was the same day, but T headed to work and found snowflake sprinkles coming down. It was more hail-like that snow but they looked like fake sprinkles!

Pretty cool!

I found these pictures on my phone one day. Bug had been playing house with Peaches and tucked her in for a nap.

So cute.

She literally tucked her in so she couldn't move.

Haha!

Souvenirs

We didn't have a lot of time to shop in Arizona but when we were at the airport we found a little shop that had a bowl of geodes! We thought that would be a fun gift for the girls! Ironically they didn't go over so well with security. You'd think they would be used to an item sold at the airport but they had to check them over carefully.

The cool part about them was that they weren't split open yet!

The instructions said to just take a chisel and a hammer to them so that's just what we did.

Crystals!

Their other souvenir was new playing cards! We celebrated by having a family game night, and for the first time we tried a game we thought Peanut was big enough to play! She lasted for about two rounds before she got tired of it, but I think she understood the game just fine.

Peaches tried a new food while we were playing...bananas! I thought she would love it! She chomped down happily at first.

"Hmm. Interesting."

But after a few tastes she threw the mesh bag on the ground and when we tried to hand it back she threw it again so I guess bananas are not a favorite. Funnily enough green beans seem to be her favorite food right now. Other than Cheerios that is. She LOVES Cheerios!

Cinderella

Last Saturday afternoon the girls decided to put on a play for us.  We had to pay a dollar each for admission.

They did Cinderella and it was actually very accurate. Jaq was the narrator.

Cinderella did a great job serving tea and real toast.

The little bird fluttered around without much direction, but lots of cute-ness.

They sang the songs and "made" the dress.

And then waltzed the night away.

We certainly have some good little actresses around here. :)

Leftover Thursday

Aunt Karen and Aunt Jody had bought a huge pack of Diaper Genie refills for Peaches' baby shower and last week we finally put in the last one! Lasted a whole year! That's a lot of diapers! Haha!

For some reason every time I braid Peanut's hair her right side will get a funny crook in it. It sticks out like it's got a wire in it or something! So funny!

I rarely allow myself to read during the day (except while nursing) because there are always a million things to do around here to keep the household running smoothly, but when I had strep I decided to allow myself a break one day during naptime. I settled in with my book and I think the peace and quiet lasted about 4.2 minutes before I had three silly monkeys in my bed.

Apparently I ate something that Peaches' was allergic to?? The only thing new I could think of soap/food/lotion wise was that I'd just made a new batch of trail mix. I have heard that you can randomly be allergic to a certain batch of nuts based on the molds/bacteria on them. I'm assuming that's what it was? For about 28 hours (5 nursing periods) she would break out in hives on her cheeks right during/after nursing. They would go away after about an hour. It was very strange. I have stayed away from the trail mix and she hasn't had any further problems.

This little stinker bear loves to get into her sisters' school supplies! She has a funny expression on her face because she is chewing on a piece of PlayDoh that she found on the floor and I had to fish out of her mouth right after snapping this picture. :P

She tried apples the other day and they were a big hit!

Happy Thursday!

Papa's Baby

The lamb that got rejected when we were in Arizona has become Papa's baby. It is so cute. It thinks Papa is it's mother. It's been sleeping in the house a plastic kiddie pool and Papa has to bottle feed it every 4 hours. When we were over there the other day it was time for her feeding so we got to watch. She even has a little pink bottle. :)

He took it out to go to the bathroom and it stuck to him like glue. So cute.

I thought Peaches would just love the lamb, but she didn't seem too impressed. She acted like it was just another dog or something. She did finally pay a little attention to it...

 "What?"

"Hello, strange dog."

"Ok you're kind of funny!"

"Oooo!"

"Yay!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's got up bright and early and were excited to see that Mommy and Daddy had bought them a few treats! The books were from Mommy and Daddy got them the rest. Cross-stitch kits for K&S, Minnie activity book for A, candy and mints for all, and Puffs for E.

Our littlest Valentine got all decked out for the holiday. Auntie Nae bought this sweet outfit for Boo 6 years ago!

We had heart bananas and sandwiches for lunch.

Then the girls' babysitter surprised them with a singing Valentine! The school choir does it as a fundraiser every year. I thought the girls would be SO excited when the choir arrived, but they were shocked speechless. They didn't even know what to do when 20ish teenagers came pouring out of the school bus parked in front of our house. Haha! I thought the choir did an awesome job!

I made chocolate covered strawberries that afternoon. They are one of my most favorite treats, but for some reason this is the only time all year that I make them.

The girls had dance that afternoon and I spent an hour cutting out little heart shapes for dinner.

Thankfully it turned out really cute or I would have been bummed to spend 3x as long making it as we did eating it. Haha!

By the time we ate dinner all we had time for was baths so it was a low-key but enjoyable Valentine's day!

Medicine

The first time we gave Peaches her medicine she gagged and threw up...multiple times. And screamed like we were killing her. The second time there was much wailing and gagging, but thankfully no puking. The third time was quiet grimacing.

After that she seemed to accept that she needed to take it, but she would still swipe at the sticky syringe if her arms were free so we had to wrap a towel around her. It's purpose was twofold: straight-jacket and drool patrol.

About four days in she actually seemed to start liking the taste if it and would open her mouth for more.

By the last three days she didn't need the towel and would crawl over to get the yummy medicine. I hope she doesn't ever need it again, but if she does I hope she remembers that she likes it!

:)
