Leftover Thursday

Poor Lou is always SO sad when her sisters get invited to birthday parties, but her turn finally came and she was invited to one! A pool party nonetheless! The invitation said "siblings welcome" so Peaches got to go too. I was busy that night so T got off early from work so he could take them. They said they had so much fun!! They are at the end of the line in these two pictures that one of the other moms took and sent me. :)

The girls were so sad to say goodbye to their friend T. They had SO MUCH fun with her this summer! We will miss her!

And speaking of friends going away...Peanut's friend B (on the left end) is moving away with her family. The drama club girls got together for a farewell party and had a great time. Mrs D sent me these pictures.

Funny girls!

Bug and F made their first big purchase together...a refrigerator for the shop! Papa and T finagled it up the stairs with minimal assistance from the rest of us. Unfortunately it didn't end up working, but thankfully the company came and switched it out for us and we didn't have to move it again ourselves.

We went over to play Pinochle with some friends the other night and the little ones came with us to play with their kids. They had a blast and we had fun playing cards! We ended up with a tie...girls won one round and boys one round. :)

Happy Thursday!

Golf!

The other night the little ones spent the night at Noni's. We usually watch a more grown up movie when that happens, but it was such a beautiful night we decided to get out of the house and go golfing instead! I think it is the first time I've been in two years! It was so nice: warm but not too hot, and we only saw one other party on the course.

Bug, T, and I played the 9 holes...well 8 because the sun was setting and it was getting dark by the time we got to hole 9 which is my least favorite anyway. Bug was the only one who attempted it.

These two came along to caddie and had more fun that we did. Haha.

They turned on T's music and danced, ate snacks, and goofed around the whole time.

Sweet girls!

They also took tons of pictures on my phone. Lol. Here are a few.

They took a couple swings each when we were headed back up the hill and actually did really well! Boo his it further and straighter than Bug and I and Peanut hit it nicely as well!

There it goes!

It was so gorgeous out there! This picture has no filter!

What a fun night with our big girls!!

Swim Lessons!

When I realized that Lou and I were pretty much going to be on our own for a week with everyone else off at the their various activities I decided to sign her up for swim lessons. I prefer to do swim lessons at an indoor pool one town over, but their pool broke down over a year ago and apparently is too expensive to fix so until they get some kind of grant it is out of commission.

Their lessons are 1 hour for 1 week, but our town's lessons are 30 minutes for 2 weeks which is a big time commitment that I don't usually like to do. But since Lou hadn't been in lessons since before Covid and since we were looking for something to do anyway I decided to go for it.

They put her in Level 2 and said she could move up if needed. I was planning to ask the lifeguards to move her up but then we got there and there were only 4-5 kids in her class each day as opposed to 10 in the class up so I figured it would be best to leave her in the younger class.

She did so good! And had a lot of fun going each day!

It was really nice to get her almost one-on-one instruction.

On the last day they had them perform all the tasks like back float, front float, treading water, jumping off the diving board without plugging their nose, ect.

She had to tread water for quite a while!

She also had to glide under water.

She told me that she didn't want to jump off the diving board but when her teachers asked her she walked right up with no hesitation. At first her hand would come up at the last second and plug her nose just before she slipped into the water.

But then she was able to do it without plugging her nose!

She started getting fancy and doing spins. :)

And she passed with flying colors!

Way to go Lou!!!

Oldest and Youngest

We had a very odd week in July where only the oldest and youngest were home for a week. Boo and Peaches were both up at camp and Peanut was in Texas with Noni. Lou was a little at loose ends without her best friend and stuck close to me all week. I tried to think of things to keep her busy and we did pretty well.

One morning we went blueberry picking with some friends. I was expecting her to just eat a bunch of blueberries and then get tired but she ended up picking almost as many as I did!

We can either have mouth open or eyes open in pictures these days. It can't be both. Haha.

It was warm out and then it started sprinkling but it was nice not to be too hot!

We were only there for a little over an hour and ended up with about 12 pounds of blueberries! We got them all processed that day and put into the freezer.

It was very hot another day and Lou started running through the sprinklers to cool down.

I love her joy!

Ta da!

The wind kicked up when I was videoing her.

Peanut's cat Sky(walker) is the only one that will come sit with me when I'm outside reading. I took this picture for her and sent it to Noni saying that he was missing her. :)

While everyone was gone Bug's official NAC certification came through so we went out to dinner and got ice cream to celebrate. She has now gone to several days of orientation at the hospital and is starting to work "for real"!

Lou was really missing Peaches so Bug let her have a sleepover in her room. So sweet!

Lou ended up sleeping in Peaches' room the final two nights she was gone and Lou was SO happy when we picked her up from camp on Friday! It was definitely quiet around here with just the oldest and the youngest! It's nice to have it back to our normal loud chaos, haha.
