Leftover Thursday

One of the days Bug was working at camp we didn't have any plans so we decided to run to town for fun. We got groceries and Sonic for lunch...nothing special, just a change of pace. :)

We met up with my best friend from high school and her family one Saturday at the lake!

It ended up being the coldest day of the summer to date but we still had fun!

It actually started raining! The first real rain we'd seen in months! Lou was not impressed. :P

I got to go to an antique/craft fair with my friends one Saturday! It was really fun and I got a couple cute things! We also got to go out to a late lunch...so fun!

After three years of living here we got a handrail up on the stairs! Haha. I like how it turned out!

Silly face!

One Sunday evening we picked up Mama and went to Chinese food!

Boo and Peanut looked up a recipe for Dango balls after being inspired by a clip on the Olympics. They turned out cute but we all agreed they didn't taste all that spectacular. Haha.

Happy Thursday! :)

School Pictures

Buggy would only give me a quick pose for pictures...she is so grown up! I can't believe we have a high schooler!

Boo on the other hand would have been happy to take pictures all afternoon. :)

Peanut wanted to get dressed up for her picture.

Peaches has a new smile this year. :)

I told her to show me her teeth for this one. :)

She has grown so much!! Three inches since January!!!

Lou wanted a picture too.  Shorts on backwards and two different shoes...but they are on the right feet! As I told Grandma, that's progress! Haha!

We are so thankful for our five beautiful girls!

Back to School!

Buggy is going to school this year! We decided to go ahead and send her to the local Christian school and so far she is doing wonderfully! We had an open house the week before and she got to pick out her locker.

The High School and Middle School grades go on a Fall Retreat for the first three days of school for all the students and teachers to get to know each other, have chapel services, and do team building exercises. It was Bug's first time on a school bus! We all went to drop her off...you can't see but she is on the bus and waving in this picture. Thankfully she already had several good friends that go to the school!

The rest of us had our first on September 1st. We started off the morning with donuts!

These two are such good buddies. They play really well together for the most part and don't get into as much trouble as those mischievous little faces would suggest. :)

Boo is in Middle School this year!! That means a whole new OLS (online learning system) to learn, but of course this super-responsible girl tackled it like a champ and is pulling straight A's already!

Peanut started off great as well and really likes her teacher!

Peaches and I are doing our own thing this year. She is happy to do all that I ask for her and as long as I keep her lessons short and to the point she is able to stay focused and get her work done. Lou has been sitting on the floor playing at our feet until Peaches is free to go play with her. :)

We picked Bug up from her retreat that afternoon and headed to the new pizza place for our traditional first day of school ice cream cones!

The next day was Bug's first day in the classroom. The biggest change (for all of us!) is that she has to get up early. No more sleeping until 9 or 10 everyday! She has to be up at 6:30 in order to get ready. Thankfully my good friend B is a teacher at the school so Daddy drops her off at their house on the way to work. They drop her off at our house on the way home in the afternoons.

She is also playing Volleyball! We are excited for this opportunity for her!

The week after school started we had our first homeschool meeting. The moms made plans for the year and lists of ideas for field trips. We had 8 families come, and the kids had a great time playing with each other!

I'll post their back to school pictures tomorrow.

Goodbye Summer

I couldn't find anyone to go with us for a farewell summer lake day so I asked the girls what they wanted to do to celebrate our last official day of summer. They excitedly replied, "Chuck E. Cheese!" That wasn't even on my radar, but after wrapping my head around it I realized it wasn't too crazy of a request. We got there right when it opened and enjoyed no crowd for the first hour.

They had a ball running around to all the different games and rides!

How cute is this girl?!

The bus was one of her favorites and she did it at least five times!

I learned that buying minutes is way better than play points. They can blow through 90 games points in nothing flat, but in 90 minutes they can do a lot of stuff! And they are the same price for points or minutes.

The big girls mostly stayed with skee ball and the sports games.

Lou rode this one several times as well. I was especially glad she got to go because she had just seen me blogging about the water park and kept saying, "I go? I go dere?"  I was starting to feel guilty we hadn't taken her. Haha.

We were happily surprised to see the big cheese himself! He wasn't out the last time we were there because of Covid but I guess he can come out now. Peaches was SOO excited!

This picture is funny...those are Lou's arms, not Peaches'.

Peaches started crying when he left. :P

The little ones tried out skee ball for a while. Lou kept chucking the ball places it wasn't supposed to go. :P

And Peaches had quite the wind up!

I had to get Lou off the lane several times. :P

The big girls ended up getting over 1200 tickets!

We were only going to stay an hour but they were having so much fun that we added another 30 minutes.

Chuck E. came out again and got more hugs from the littles. I was surprised that Lou wasn't a bit shy of him. She high-fived and hugged him with no hesitation. Much better than when Boo was that age and would run screaming in terror from any person in a costume. Haha.

They picked their prizes and we said our official goodbye to summer!

We grabbed Chik-Fil-A and headed home for a late nap.

Such a fun day!
