Sammy Visit!

The girls were so happy to hear that cousin Sammy was coming for another visit! I love how much they love their cousins. :) 

We had all kinds of fun while they were here. Noni had an amazing plum year and they got ripe during the visit so one day was spent picking plums and making jelly & jam!

Noni backed Papa's pickup up to the tree so the kids could stand in the back and reach.

Sammy did a great job picking!

I think he ended up picking more than Peanut did...almost all of hers went into her mouth! Haha :)

This picture turned out blurry :( but I love the smiles! :)

I think the girls need a little brother....you can see them plugging their ears here as Sammy bangs away on the blocks. Haha :)

Peaches got some Mama snuggles while they built a little block town.

There were lots of books read! By both Papa...

Check ups

Ok, still trying to catch up here...these are the pictures from the littles doctors appointments. Daddy let the older two come over to his office so they would not have to wait with us. 

Peaches got a little antsy in the waiting room so I distracted her with a few selfies. Haha :)

Peanut happily colored away! 

Almost 35 pounds! Growing girl!

She was happy to draw on the walls once we got in the room, and Peaches took her turn with the doctor.

 

Peaches LOVED the crinkly paper on the table bed.

They both did very well and the doctor says they look healthy. 

 Peaches did very well with her shots and only cried for about 30 seconds. Her legs didn't seem to be sore at all later, and she didn't get any fever thankfully.

We left straight from the doctor to go pick up one of the girls' friends who was moving away. We took her to lunch and ice cream, and the girls were able to say their goodbyes. 

They usually all get bowls of ice cream, but Boo picked a cone this time and came away with a huge ice cream! She was pretty happy but wasn't able to finish it. Haha :)

We are very thankful for our happy, healthy girls!

Camp!

 These are from a few weeks ago...our grown up Buggy girl went to sleep-away camp! The camp started Sunday afternoon and went until Thursday afternoon so she was there four nights. 

We all took her up after church that Sunday. The camp is almost two hours away, but we all wanted to be there to drop her off. Here are the girls sitting in the registration line.

We got her all checked in and then got to see where she would be staying for the week.

I think it was hardest on Boo. She and Bug are the best of friends and she was really sad to be left behind. I had a hard time letting go as well, but it helped that she was with friends, and that her cabin counselor was a very sweet and responsible girl from our church who has babysat for us for years. Our Pastor and Youth Pastor and 3 or 4 boys from our church were also there so I was glad she had some familiar faces.

She knew three of the girls in her cabin...two from our town.

T had never been up there before (I had been there twice for scrapbook camp weekends) so we walked around and checked out the camp. There is a a neat "fort" that the kids can play on and that they use for the big "event".

We all wrote her letters/notes that got delivered to her every day, and we prayed for her about a dozen times a day.

 One neat thing they do at camp is let you put money on account for the snack bar so she was able to get something each day without having to worry about keeping track of money.

T had to work on Thursday and I didn't want the middles to have to sit in the car all day so I dropped them at Noni's and Peaches and I headed up to get our Buggy girl. 

I thought Peaches would sleep the whole way there since I'd timed it for her nap, but I'm pretty sure she hardly slept at all. I never installed the rearview baby mirror since one of the girls is always back there with her, and she's so quiet I couldn't tell if she was awake or not. A couple times I stuck my phone back there and took a picture to see if she was sleeping.

Hmm...doesn't look like it but can't quite tell.

And that would be a no.

Still quiet though. Check again twenty minutes later. Has she gone to sleep yet??

Nope.

Silly girl. :P 

The girls had to be picked up at 1 and I had to feed her at noon so we got there early and I was able to get her fed and squared away before they were done with their lunch. 

I was so happy to see my Buggy girl! Can't believe how much I missed her!

Here she is with her cabin leader and some of the girls. She wanted Peaches in the picture.

She had a great time and made a lot of new memories. I asked her to give me a number 1-10 and she said 7. I think she had a lot of fun, but this is a kid who gets "homesick" when she spends more than one night at Noni's house. :)  Some of the highlights were: horseback riding, swimming in the lake, boating, fishing, miniature golf, carpet ball, and games. They also had chapel and devotions every evening.

 I took Bug and the two on the left home, and they were hilarious. Two hours of camp songs and stories! Haha! They were really sweet though. :) Good friends!

We were thrilled to have her home. I was really missing her on Wednesday so I had made her a chocolate cake.

I think the old saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." really played out with these girls. They were so happy to be back together and played so sweetly (for about a week, haha). When she first got back I heard them giggling and giggling and snuck this picture. Love it.

It was an interesting week and definitely a growing experience for Bug. I noticed a marked difference in her maturity and responsibility right away. All in all I am very happy that she went and we're planing on sending both her and Boo next year. These girls are growing up too fast!

Sitting

Ok, I am getting behind since I threw the birthday posts in there. I need to go back and get caught up. These are from a couple of weeks ago. 

I'm guessing that Peaches is going to be crawling sooner than later. We put her down...

and less than a minute later she has squirmed into a different position.

She's doing really well with her sitting up!

Last night she sat for a good 10 minutes just chewing on her toys.

We just have to make sure a pillow is behind her because she will topple without warning.

Wordless Wednesday

Four!

After Peanut went to bed on Sunday night the girls begged me to do a balloon cascade. Basically you just criss cross a bunch of streamers across the closed door and stuff balloons in between so when the person opens it from the other side they get a shower of balloons. If she didn't remember that it was her birthday she sure did once she opened the door!

Then she had to bust through the streamers to get out.

She came downstairs where her birthday present was waiting!

Her own doll! She wasn't too into dolls back at Christmas when we got them for Bug and Boo, but lately she has been taking theirs and wanting one of her own so we were happy to comply. She named it Dayla (Deyla?).

I let Bug and Boo each pick an outfit for the doll, and of course they wanted her to open them right away!

She loved them!

Daddy went to work and the girls took off downstairs to play with their dolls while Peaches had her morning nap.

A couple hours later we got ready to go out to lunch and ice cream with Daddy. Had to take a picture with my birthday girl!

Lunch was eaten quickly, and the ice cream was thoroughly enjoyed! Cotton candy!

We headed back to the house and played for a bit, and then she chose to have me read her books for almost an hour while we waited for the family to arrive. Noni, Papa, Mama, Aunt Nina, and Sammy came over, Daddy got off work, and we all headed down to the pool!

I'll have to post pictures from Sammy's visit later. It was so fun to have them here for Peanut's birthday!

It was HOT! Perfect for a swim!

 

The birthday girl wanted pb&j for her special dinner. We let the kids eat that and the rest of us had sandwiches. :) We also had watermelon and Peanut's favorite...chips! I call her my chip monster. We have had to institute a sandwich first-chips later rule because she would eat nothing but chips if we would let her!

Then it was time for the cake...so happy!

She got some adorable shoes from Noni and Papa, money for shopping from the great grandparents, books from Aunt J and Uncle K, a Barbie baking set from Mama, a te shirt and Berenstein Bear book set from Aunt Karen, and adorable outfit and a puppy and shoes for her doll from Auntie Nina and family, and perler beads and more te stuff from us.

  

So happy!

 

I love making a big deal out of birthdays! We all need one super special day a year, right?!
