The other day Buggy made everyone hot chocolate. Peaches was in the bath and got to have some. She was saying marshmallows really cute, but wouldn't do it for the video. :)
Back in February T and the big girls got all dressed up and headed to the Daddy Daughter dance at the local school. They had spent the night at Noni's so she curled their hair and they all looked so pretty!
We met up at a local restaurant and he took the girls to the dance while Mama, Noni, Peaches, baby, and I had dinner and then played a game of cards.
I grabbed some pictures when they got home.
Peanut.
Boo.
And Buggy. She's getting so tall!
Peanut didn't want to be left out so I took a picture of her too.
I think this Daddy has a lot of Daddy Daughter dances in his future. Haha.
Around Valentines day Aunt Nina sent a box with Peaches and Boo's birthday presents, but it also had Valentine's presents and cards for all the girls. It was like Christmas!
They had so much fun unpacking the box and unwrapping all the sweet gifts.
She got them all Fingerlings which they are obsessed with at the moment. How did she know??
And baby girl got two adorable little outfits. "Taco 'bout cute!" and a sister shirt with ruffle bottom pants.
You can see the adorable quilts (Peaches size and baby doll size) that she MADE! I LOVED the colors! So pretty!
It was just what we needed to lift our spirits on yet another snowy/windy February day.
Boo had it right when she said, "Aunt Nina is the BEST!!!"
Oh my goodness, this girl gives us a run for our money. She is SO busy and has to be constantly supervised. Here she is after ruining yet another tube of chapstick. That probably makes 20?
Close up of the evidence.
The other day we came up with a new nickname for her. The Happy Hurricane.
She has all the terror and destruction of a hurricane, but she is so dad gum cute and hilarious that it makes up for it. She causes so many pull-my-own-hair-out moments, but she also makes me laugh out loud dozens of times a day.
Pretty much the only thing that tames her is the iPad. :/ I try not to let her be on it too much, but I know I give in more often than I should. :(
Here is a small example of her busyness. You can just tell by the look on her face that she is searching for something else to get into. At the beginning of this video she is "play my pan-o" (piano).
I have to be super careful to make sure she is not being too over the top with the baby. She loves her to pieces...and that is exactly what I'm worried about. She gets so excited that she just wants to shake D's arms or squeeze her too tight. She's been working on being gentle, and is doing very well...I can tell that she is really curbing her enthusiasm and being careful. But I still have to watch her like a hawk.
She LOVES to be chased. This is great for having her sisters entertain her, but not so great when I am trying to get her dressed, or ready for bed. She runs away thinking it's funny. We're working on that too. :P
This is a face I see multiple times a day.
Almost always accompanied by "I'm so sad!" She gets her feelings hurt very easily, by her sisters not wanting to play with her (who can blame them when she is a literal hurricane to their games/Lego buildings/art work, etc.). and by me telling her no to whatever it is she wants at that moment.
She is getting better at using her words instead of just screaming when her sisters upset her. Now we just need to work on tone so she isn't screaming, "I DON'T LIKE THAT!" as loud as she possibly can. :P
Unfortunately she is also entering that super hard stage where she still needs a nap or early afternoon till bedtime is just one big meltdown, but if she gets one she keeps everyone awake super late (like 10pm or even later).
So I've been trying to let her sleep no more than an hour and half and that seems to help with bedtime, but it's so hard to make myself go wake her up when she is sleeping so peacefully. And, to be honest, when I need a break from monitoring a hurricane. :P
For the most part she wakes up pleasantly, but also seems to "need" me for at least half an hour afterwards. Because of this I have to time her naps just right because if I have to feed the baby right when it's time to get her up things don't go well. We have to have at least a few minutes to snuggle and wake up.
Thank goodness toddler-hood is only a season. This swirling hurricane of BIG emotions and crazy-bouncing-off-the-walls can only last so long right?? I'm so thankful for this funny, sweet girl. And I'll be so thankful when this exhausting stage passes. Haha.
One day the girls decided to make fans and set up a store. They didn't seem to care that Peaches and I were there only prospective customers. Haha.
Here are Buggy and Boo getting recognized at church for saying their "Silver" verses, the 17 verses word perfect/no helps, at Awana. We were so proud of them!
Living with baby girl is like living with a bird. You have to watch out for splatters. :P
I finally completed my stair project that I started when I was still pregnant and for a while it became the place to hang out. :P
