Leftover Thursday

Noni found this picture of me and we all agreed that Lou looks the most like me as a kid!

Boo is taking a college class! We found out that Grand Canyon offers dual enrollment classes that can be started as young as 10th grade so Boo signed up for one to see how it would go. I'm glad she only did one because it's been quite a bit of work, but she's doing amazing and has an A in the class so far! If she can keep taking even one at a time she could have a year of college out of the way by the time she graduates.

Two of the cats were inside and sleeping in the dining room. I thought it was so funny that the boy looked like this...

And Coco, our one girl, had a pillow and looked quite comfy. Such a little princess. Haha.

Boo's friend, M, and her family started a bible study at their house. It's only twice a month so Boo is hoping to be able to attend even though we are so crazy busy. This was the first one.

I looked at the window and laughed at Peaches' pumpkin. I can relate...when you're trying to stay positive, but you're barely hanging on. Haha.

Happy Thursday!

Lou Laughs - Part 13

 January 25th, 2024 (age 5)

We were having a conversation in the car. They had just watched the new Everest Paw Patrol and were telling me about it. It must have been a different voice actor than they are used to because Lou said, "But Mommy! Everest changed her voice! Maybe she forgot to do this *clears throat* I can change my voice too when I do that!"

March 8th

I was making dinner. They were both sitting on the counter, shoulder to shoulder. Lou: "Knock knock Mommy!" Me: "Who's there?" Lou: "Paw" Me: "Paw who?" Lou: "Paw Patrol! Hahahaha!" She turns to Peaches. "E! Knock knock!" E: "Who's there?" Lou: "Paw!" E: "Paw Patrol." Lou: "E! How did you know?!?"

March 10th

E: "Mommy! D is cheating!" Lou: "Yeah! I don't know how to play Tic Tac Toe so I cheat so I can win!"

 June 16th

D was snuggling with Daddy. Peaches comes flying in and jumps on the bed and shouts, "Happy Father's Day!" Lou: "E! That was RECKLESS! You almost squished me and my Baba!"

June 17th

We were looking at a picture of someone. Lou: "Where is he?" Me (thinking she meant right now): "I don't know." Lou: "No I mean where is he in this picture?...Paris?" Me: "No. Paris is in France." Lou: "Ohhhh, so they have to talk like 'Ooha ooha goo?'"

July 24th

She got Silly Putty at the bookstore in Texas at camp. She opened it up and said, "I'm gonna eat it!" Several of us, "No! It's not food!" Lou: "But it's pudding!?" Me: "No it's not pudding. It's putty."

Pumpkin Carving!

We finally found a free night to carve pumpkins! Lou and Peaches did their pumpkin patch pumpkins even though they were small. Boo and Peanut grabbed one from the garden. For some reason all of ours were having a hard time turning orange so they were mostly green.

Pumpkin carving always makes me nervous with the knives! :P

Lou did a little bit but I mostly did the cutting for her.

Peanut got a Star Wars design off the computer.

Boo decided to paint a Rapnuzel scene.

Lou is in her goofy faces phase. :)

Such a goofball.

Peaches attempted a storm trooper face but it got messed up so she turned it around and did a traditional jack-o-lantern.

And Lou wanted a kitty face.

She was very impressed with Boo's painting skills.

I think this is a Star Wars weapon.

The painting turned out beautifully!

And the carved ones got sent to decorate the porch.

We're ready for Halloween!

Leftover Thursday

Peaches learned how to write in cursive last year and continues to practice. She was so proud of this h and wanted to take a picture. :)

Lou's "what?" face. I was disturbed by how she was eating this banana. :P

We were talking at lunch one day about how fast Lou is and that she could probably outrun anyone in our family so Bug challenged her to a race. :)

Peaches videoed them.

Lou learned to ride a bike! The one we had for her was too small and the next size up had popped a tire so T bought a new inner tube for it and fixed it up and within 24 hours she was riding! Peaches was the one who mainly worked with her.

By the next day she was zooming around!

So proud!

Now we just have to work on control, haha.

Happy Thursday! :)

Away Games!

The pumpkin patch day was crazy because right after we finished there we had to go buy all the food for our church's ladies night (40+ people). Then we went to Noni's for piano lessons, and after that we headed straight to Boo's away game. We managed to make it a few minutes before they started. I didn't get a picture of the crowd but Boo had a bunch of fans! Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Nae, Uncle W, Cousin W, Cousin K, and their Cousin A all came!

The teams were pretty evenly matched, back and forth went the points. The other team was up almost the whole time, but we were right behind. A couple of times we got ahead.

Peaches took this one.

Go Boo!

Score!

The little ones were crazy full of energy...you'd think they'd be dragging after our busy day, but they had the wiggles. Peaches was making snow angels on the floor and Lou was jumping in and out of my lap every few minutes. :P They didn't want to color, but Auntie Nae had these cool toys in her purse and they were happy to sit for a bit and do them.

It was an intense game! I thought they were going to win won of the sets, but they didn't pull it out in the end.

Boo had some great saves.

It was a disappointing loss, but they truly have come so far! I keep reminding T that we can't expect them to be superstars when we haven't put in the time. In our local town they are starting volleyball in 2nd grade! We can't expect our girls to match up to girls who have been playing 5+ years longer!

I let the little ones have my phone to take pictures to keep them busy and they started drawing on the pictures. They made twelve of these! Here are a few. Ice cream cones.

Water power.

And Lightening power. There was also fire power, flower power, heart power, ice power...and I can't remember what else. :P

The next day was teacher inservice so the big girls didn't have school, but the team planned a fun day. I took Boo up at 2 for a practice. After practicing for a few hours they had a potluck, and then the coaches took them to a college volleyball match! They didn't get home until 9 that night. Boo said they had a great time! We are thankful for this fun group of girls and their wonderful coaches!
