Sleepover Party!

Turning ten "unlocks" sleepovers in our house so of course Peaches wanted to have a sleepover party for her birthday this year! Unfortunately most of her friends are either too young or their families don't do sleepovers, but two of the seven girls we invited to were able to stay the night.

For the rest we decided to go with a "faux sleepover" theme and I asked all the moms to send pajamas for their girls to wear. We went and picked up Peanut and two of her besties from school and then went and grabbed M on our way home. Peanut took these next two pictures.

The funny thing is that Peaches has been planning her birthday party for over six months and we had decided on a totally different theme. We were supposed to be doing an Encanto/fiesta theme, but when we found our hardly anyone could do the sleepover we pivoted.

The week before the party we decided on the faux sleepover theme and went to the dollar store and ordered off of Amazon to get the things to make up these fun party favor bags.

I don't know why I worked so hard on the theme anyway though...all they really wanted to do was hang out and play. Peaches got these pictures. :)

I enlisted Peanut to help me run the "nail salon" and we did a gel manicure on each of the girls.

While we were doing that R's mom got started on face masks for all the girls.

Thank goodness for Peanut...it would have taken me forever to get all the girls nails done!

We had to get a picture with all their green faces...so cute!

After they washed their faces we had pizza.

And then I put on High School Musical for them and made popcorn about halfway through.

After they finished their popcorn thing went a little downhill, lol. Only two of the girls sat there to finish the movie and the others were dancing around, playing Simon Says, and being super noisy. The two trying to watch kept saying, "Be quiet! We can't hear!" It was chaos to the extreme. :P

After the movie finished they came down for cupcakes and presents.

These girls are so sweet!

It was a great group. I was worried about squabbling or hurt feelings since we had 9 girls (and some that didn't know each other) but they played together so well!

Peaches was *slightly* excited to open her presents. :P

She went crazy over each thing and the girls thought it was hilarious so then she started getting even more into it.

At least they had no doubts that she loved their presents!

Every present was exclaimed over!

Goofy girl.

After the five girls went home these four got their beds all ready for the night and then played games and talked until ten. I had them get ready for bed and then do lights out. They were still giggling at 10:30 so I had to go back down and tell them to go to sleep, but when I checked again at 10:45 they were quiet.

The next morning we introduced M and L to pancake cereal.

And then they spent another couple of hours playing and opening some of the birthday presents like this archeologist gem set.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well the sleepover went! We had no problems or drama and they just all had a wonderful time! Lou was a little cranky and tired for the next two days, but other than that it was great! We will definitely have to do it again sometime!
