Piano Recital!

The Wednesday night after the wedding we went to the school Christmas performances. The Christmas play is always put on by the elementary students. They did a fabulous job and it was a sweet play. T got this picture of the girls and I playing cards while we waited for it to start. We had to be there half an hour early for the big girls to be able to warm up. 

 

 

The high schoolers sang a nice piece and then also led an accapela Christmas hymn at the end.

 

 

 

They did a beautiful job! The boys even had to do some Latin singing! 

 

 

 

The next day we did a piano recital rehearsal after Boo's basketball game and then they performed a few days later. Noni did a beautiful job as always and the kids played wonderfully! It's so fun to watch them up there using their gifts!  

 

When we got there they handed out the programs that Noni had made. 

 

 

 

And some little treats. Ms B got to come. We love her! 

 

 

These girls are getting so big! 

 

 

It was so fun to have Aunt K at the recital this year! She got to stay after the wedding all the way to Christmas day! The girls were so excited to have her there. 

 

 

Noni has two other families doing piano this year so Lou wasn't the first to go this time. I love how Noni has them curtsy or bow to the crowd before they play. So cute. 

 

 

 

Lou played Hark the Herald Angels sing and did a beautiful job! 

 

 Peaches was a few students later.

 

 

She played Moonlight Sonata. There is a lot of tricky timing in this piece but she had practiced it about a hundred times so she had it down!

 

 Peanut and Boo aren't actually taking lessons anymore which makes me sad, but their schedules are just too busy to fit it in. :( Peanut agreed to play in the recital as an alumni piano student though and played the piece that she played (and we recorded) for the wedding: Cannon. During the wedding the Cannon went for 4 minutes and then transitioned into Praise for the last minute when Daddy and Bug came down the aisle. She and T had gone to church one night and spent over an hour getting the recording. He said she did it about 25 times trying to get a perfect recording!

 

 

 So pretty!

 

 Wonderful job everyone!! Bravo!

 

 

The kids had decorated sugar cookies on the night of the rehearsal. 

 

 

And we all brought an appetizer to share. 

 

 

The girls' friends G and A came to hear them play. 

 

 

And most of the kids played their piece again while people were visiting.
