Jammin'

Some of our friends from church have a big row of raspberries in their back yard and they let us pick all we wanted! And pick we did! They said they had never seen those bushes picked so clean! Haha! They didn't have to pick for a week.

They have both red and yellow raspberries. I really can't taste the difference.

We picked for almost two hours!

Silly girl!

At one point she started wandering down the sidewalk. Daddy told her to come back...which she did, but about as slowly as one could possibly go, leapfrogging a few inches at a time. She's definitely two. :P

Good thing I put her in play clothes. You can see the raspberry smears all over her and her clothes!

Peanut did a pretty good job picking. I know she filled at least one container.

Peaches is really into pretend "seeping" right now. She will randomly lay down and close her eyes. Daddy joined her. Haha.

:)

Boo was our big picker. I think she got nearly as much as Daddy and I did.

Time out for a selfie!

We headed home and got Peaches in bed and then I let the girls help me make one (double) batch of jam.

She was taking her mashing job seriously! :)

Boo was on stirring duty.

We all LOVE raspberry jam!

After the girls went to bed I did three more double batches so we ended up with 8 batches of jam. This gave new meaning to the phrase "Jammin' with my baby"! Haha!

From bush to jars in four hours flat! I didn't count, but Bug said we got 38 jars. That should hold us over until next summer!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Mama's birthday was on a Friday, and the big girls had soccer camp, but as soon as I picked them up we headed to town. We grabbed some Panda for lunch and Mama's favorite lemon chicken and made a beeline for Noni and Papa's house. Daddy had taken the day off and after a working a few hours at the farmhouse he met us there for lunch before heading to town for more supplies.

Noni made an angel food cake for dessert. Yum!

 Happy birthday to you...

Then we let her open her presents.

The girls had been perler beading like crazy and Boo made her a bird since she loves them.

Speaking of which...Aunt Karen sent two 40 pound bags of birdseed! Noni hauled it away in the wagon and Peaches hitched a ride. :)

Happy birthday Mama! We love you!!!

Leftover Thursday

I love love love how industrious our girls are becoming! They are really learning all the tools and how to use them. They wanted help to build a fort the other day and we were busy working on the house so they found a pile of screws leftover from pulling off the roof, the screw gun, some scraps and started building! It took them a couple of days and several failed attempts but they stuck with it and ended up with a cute little fort! Way to go girls! Sister Squad Construction now open for business! Haha!

They even put a "floor" in with roofing scraps, and I thought it was so funny. I couldn't find the hammer stapler one night. Where was it? Oh the 5 year old had it and was fixing their roof. :)

Peanut wanted to "braid" my hair and then take a picture. :)

The girls put on a play/puppet show for me one day. It was Cinderella.

Our garden is NOT doing well this year for some reason, but I did get enough spinach for one good salad. :)

Pretty back door! Yay!

Happy Thursday!

Food and Fireworks!

Poor Cocoa. The girls put bows in her "hair" for the 4th. Haha!

We invited friends over for a BBQ! Cutie girls!

Grandma bought poppers and I think Peaches is the first toddler to not be afraid of them. She kept saying, "POP!" and loved throwing them! She wanted more and more.

Funny girl!

The girls made a 4th flag of toppings to go on the pound cake that Bug made and the angel food cake Boo made.

:)

We started off with some fireworks in the backyard.

Peaches wasn't afraid, but she didn't like the loud firecrackers.

The fountains were a big hit!

As were the sparklers!

She wasn't sure what to think at first, but then she kept wanting them so I guess she liked it. Haha.

For some reason they LOVED dancing around in the smoke bomb smoke!

Funny girls! And stinky! :P

We moved to the front so they could shoot Roman Candles down the street.

More smoke bombs!

And LOTS more sparklers!

I loved this picture with the neighbor's flag in the background. :)

Dancing with sparklers!

Yay!

It was a low-key but wonderful 4th!

Happy birthday America!
