Leftover Thursday

 The girls asked if they could go outside and a few minutes later I followed and found this flower child under a tree strumming her sister's ukulele. Haha.

 

 

 Peanut found a bunch of squishmallows at Goodwill the other day and begged to get them all. They were in good shape and I was able to throw them in the washer when we got home. This was her the next day doing her schoolwork.

 

 

Peaches got a huge goose egg on her head when Lou slammed the bathroom door in her face to lock her out...to be fair Peaches was squirting her with water at the time. :P

Wordless Wednesday

 

Happy Mother's Day!

 We started our mother's day celebrations with Mama becoming a member of our church! We had our biggest membership class yet and got several new families!

 

 

Then I got a sweet mother's day surprise...Peaches and Lou sang a duet for offertory!

 

I got this video while they were practicing right before church.

Thank you girls for such a sweet mother's day present!

 

 

Those two went with Mama and Noni and got McDonald's for lunch. The rest of us went home and finished planting the garden, and then we went over to Noni and Papa's for a yummy BBQ dinner. After we ate we opened presents. Mama got a water bottle, flowers, and some bible crosswords. 

 

 

Lou's hair is in bad need of a trim...it is so crispy and dry on the ends, but I am so sad about losing these adorable baby ringlets! I have hung on as long as I can, but now in a few days they'll be gone. :'(

 

 

I'm thankful that we were able to keep it long for as long as we did. Noni grabbed a picture of all of us and then I got to open some presents.

 

 

T and the girls got me a bunch of sweet things: a new initial necklace, a bigger pot for my houseplant that has outgrown it's current one, my favorite suckers, and some Lego roses. Later at home they also gave me some annuals and a big beautiful hydrangea to plant out front! Noni and Papa gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby so I'll have to go shopping some time!

 

 

For Noni I had found a set of journals that has one book for each book of the New Testament. Scripture is written on one side of the page and the other side is blank so you can take notes. 

 

 

I had never even heard of that before but Noni had and was excited to get them!

 

 

 While we were cleaning up and getting ready to go home for some reason Boo picked up this book off the couch and started reading it to the girls in a English accent.

 

 

It was SO funny and they were cracking up! 

 

 

These silly girls can always make me laugh!

 

 

I'm so thankful for each of them, and for all the wonderful mother's in our life! We love each one of you so much!!

Soccer with Grandma and Grandpa!

 We celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma a day early. She and Grandpa got up early and made the big drive to meet us at the soccer fields at 9am. We actually had to be there at 8 to get Lou's pictures taken. Boo and Peanut had their pictures scheduled for after their game but the photographer was really nice and let us sneak in their individuals with the little kids so they wouldn't be all red faced and sweaty.

 

 

Then it was time for Lou's game!

 

 

This was the first game that I felt like she was really into it. The other games she has been kind of half interested and didn't really know what to do. I guess she just needed a bigger fan base because she took off in this game!

 

 

She has enjoyed having Daddy as her coach!

 

 

She ended up scoring not one but two goals!!

 

 

SO happy!

 

 

One of the other moms is a photographer and got this picture for me after she scored one of her goals. So cute!!

 

 

They played tough and won their game! Go Carrots!

 

 

Boo and Peanut were up next. This was the toughest team in the league. This age group is 6th-8th grade, co-ed, but this team was ALL 8th grade boys! Our kids didn't let that stop them though and went into the fight head on! 

 

 

They played HARD and almost scored so many goals! One of our biggest scorers wasn't at the game so if she had been there we might have been able to tie it up.

 

 

One scary moment in the game happened when one of the big boys accidentally booted the ball from about ten feet away straight into Peanut's face! It was a hard hit and knocked her completely off her feet and she went flying backwards and landed on her back. Her coach was on the field and T was off his seat before anyone could do anything but in seconds she popped back up to her feet and said, "I'm all right, I'm all right!" I couldn't believe she didn't have blood gushing out her nose. They paused the game and her coach came and did the concussion tests on her, but she seemed totally fine. Her eyes weren't even watering. She is one tough cookie!! 

They fought hard to the end and lost 6-0 but we were so proud of how great they did! That was a tough team, but they proved they could hang in there!

 

 

Grandpa bought us all lunch at the pizza place in town and then we walked down the street to get ice cream.

 

 

 

This was the hottest day of soccer by far...around 80 and sunny. By the time Peaches game rolled around at 1:00 we were all sweating. The other girls hid in the shade of the blankets.

 

 

Bug isn't in any of these pictures because she was at a church event with her boyfriend. 

 

Peaches did a great job in the game and was a forward for most of it. She almost scored several times!

 

 

 

 

It's been so fun to watch them grow in their skills this season!

Northern Lights!

 I feel like we get Northern lights alerts pretty frequently and every time we do I wait up and go outside and look and never see anything. So when it came up again this time I wasn't even going to go out and look but T finally convinced me. Thank goodness he did because we both saw them for the first time in our lives! And they were AMAZING! 

The phone camera picked up more color than our eyes could but we definitely saw green and pink, just not this bright. 

 

 

It was truly awe-inspiring. It was like heaven was cracked open and the glory was shining down!

 

 

We got the big girls up because none of them were asleep even though it was 10:45.

 

 

The only bad thing was that we didn't get the little ones up because we had to be up early for a long day of soccer the next day and the Northern lights were supposed to be visible for the the next four days so I figured we would see them the next night...or the next. But they never showed up again. :( 

 

 

I was kicking myself for not waking them up, but hopefully they'll get to see them again sometime and not have to wait until they're 41 like me. :P
