Feeling "telly"

I was trying to get a video of Peanut because she had a cold and her voice was adorably hoarse, but instead I unintentionally got her to admit she was being a tattletale. Lol!

Leftover Thursday

Boo got a turn to sleep in Mommy's bed while Daddy was away.

Buggy helped me do some painting that I've been meaning to get to for a few years.

Happy girl!

Throwback Thursday to baby Peanut!

She's changed quite a bit! Lol!

Family game night usually ends the same way. Haha :)

Happy Thursday!

Happy Baptism Boo Bear!

Boo really wanted to get baptized last year but we ended up not having a service down at the lake because of all the fires so when Pastor first mentioned a baptism service this year she started asking if she could do it.

A few weeks ago we left the other three with Noni and took her out to dinner. She chose Chinese food and while we ate we talked with her. After some good discussion we felt that she was ready!

Our church actually had two baptism services this year...one down at the lake during the church campout and then a second when we borrowed a portable baptistry for a service at church. Boo chose to wait for the church service so Grandma, Grandpa, and Mama could attend.

Here she is before we left for church.

After the service she changed quickly. I loved how excited she was about it!

Anyone wanting to get baptized has to be able to stand in front of everyone and give their testimony. She had been practicing and did a great job!

Daddy got to be the one to baptize her. :)

This website has a good explanation of baptism, but the gist is that it symbolizes Jesus death, burial (underwater), and resurrection.

We believe that while baptism is not necessary to be a Christian, it IS a way to show the world that you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and you have asked Him to forgive your sins and come into your heart.

I think Romans 6:4 best explains it: We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

For us it is a symbolic way of aligning one’s life with the will of God.

Love this face!

So happy!

We are so incredibly proud of this sweet girl! She has chosen to follow Jesus...the most important decision she will ever make.

Happy family!

It was so special to have both sets of Grandparents and a Great-grandma there to witness it.

Noni and Papa.

Grandma and Grandpa.

We went back to the house and had a "taco bar" as requested by the special girl. :)

Peaches had some more carrots.

Yeah, that's not any better than yesterday.

She started crying so Noni took pity on her and got her out and helped her practice her walking.

Which she loves to do!

We got to spend some time visiting with the family before everyone had to go their separate ways.

We had chocolate cake and gave Boo a cross necklace to help signify her special day.

We are so proud of this sweet girl!

Congratulations Boo! We love you more than we can say, and we pray that you will always chose to honor God with your life and serve Him above all else!

Carrots

We tried the mesh bag after 5 failed attempts at baby food...and by failed I mean vomit-inducing. :P

Yay, a new toy! Thanks Mom!

What? What's everybody smiling at me for?

Wait. What is wrong with this toy?? It tastes gross.

Well that was a rotten trick.

But I forgive you.

Baby Giggles

P. S. The surgery went very well! My doctor got the fibroid out and showed us pictures. It was actually bigger than my uterus. He also found out that the reason the fibroid gave me such fits with Peaches was because the scar tissue from Peanut's c-section somehow grew up into it. Then as I got bigger with E it was "stretched like a banjo string" he said. Interesting. I'm glad to have it gone!  I didn't come out of the anesthesia very well and we had to stay several hours longer than we thought   I was really dizzy/nauseous but I slept on the way home and finally started to feel more normal. I spent the rest of the day on the couch and am planning to lay low for the next few days. Thank you so much for all the prayers and thoughts! I could definitely feel the prayers. I hate hospitals but I was so at peace and not even the tiniest bit nervous! That was a real answer to prayer!!! Thank you all!!!

Funny Friday

Before the funnies...I keep forgetting to post on here, but I've been needing to update. The fibroid tumor that was giving me such fits when I was pregnant with Peaches did not shrink down as it normally does after the birth. I had an ultrasound several weeks ago and it is pedunculated, meaning it is now barely hanging on to the outside of the uterus.

My doctor advised us that I should have it removed so this morning at 7:30AM I am having the surgery. It is an outpatient procedure that he expects to only last thirty minutes.  The recovery will be the worst part. He is going to make a 2 inch incision into my c-section scar so I will have to lay low for the next 4-6 weeks.

T is taking a few days off and Noni is taking all of next week off to help out with the girls' schoolwork and carting them back and forth to dance! SOOO nice! I don't know what I would do with her!!!

It should be a fairly simple procedure and he doesn't anticipate any problems, but prayers would be appreciated!

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Happy Friday! :)

Leftover Thursday

 Just a few leftovers...

Peanut wanted to have a "Baking Contest" which I think just means baking a cake. I had a chocolate cake mix and on the side it had the idea to turn it into a s'more cake. She loved that so we went with it. It was quite delicious!

Boo drew this for Peanut the other day and put it on the fridge. We were doing school and Peaches was in her walker when the sound of crinkling paper broke through my concentration. I realized she'd scooted over, grabbed it off, and was eating it. I had to fish some soggy paper out of her mouth, but I don't think any went down. :P

Getting a little help with her schoolwork. :)

Preparing for take off!

Peaches does this cute little lip thing sometimes. I think she is feeling a tooth trying to come down.

Another walker-assist. She managed to get a puzzle off the shelf, open it up, and strew the pieces about. Luckily she was chewing on the lid and not a piece when I realized what she'd done!

Usually Daddy takes Peanut to preschool, but if he is still home and Peaches is still asleep I can walk her over. :)

Happy Thursday! :)

Oatmeal

Do all babies have a hard time starting food? It seems like ours do. I normally start them right about the 6 month mark and they struggle with it for about two months and finally at about 8 months they actually start getting a little bit down. This time I decided to wait and start at 8 months in the hopes we could skip all the food drama. Plan: FAIL!

Starting later did nothing to help with the first feedings. Maybe it even made it worse?? She turned 8 months on a Tuesday and because of busy schedules the first meal all 6 of us were together for was that Friday. We decided it would be fun to go over to Noni and Papa's for dinner so we headed there after T got off work and grabbed Panda on the way.

We all sat down to eat and I mixed her up some oatmeal. Daddy put the first spoonful in...

"Hmm...this is interesting."

"I like this chewy spoon!"

"Okay, this is kind of weird."

"Yeah I don't really like whatever this goopy stuff is."

"Okay, now Boo is putting it in my mouth."

"Yeah that's just nasty people."

"Okay deep breath. They all seem so excited. I can do this."

"Or not. *gag* Yuck."

"Okay, I just thew up in my mouth. No more!"

"Wait. You think this stuff is good, Peanut? Okay I'll try it again."

"Nope. Not any better!"

"Buggy! Not you too!"

"No more! No more!"

"Swallow. Keep it in. Keep it in."

"Oh no. Can't. Keep. It. Down."

"Here it comes!"

"Wow. That was definitely my worst experience to date. Then Mommy had to get me cleaned up. Somehow I got that pasty junk in my hair! Then she tried to lay me down for a nap. Yeah right! Torture me and then just lay me down! I don't think so! I'm going to scream my head off till they come back and get me....ok, that worked. Now they're giving me to Mama. Maybe she'll be more sympathetic to my plight. Did you see what they did to me, Mama?? Just rock me and sing me a song."

"Oh yeah, that's better. Sing it Mama."

"And don't ever let them try that again!"
