Leftover Thursday

Peaches has been doing this funny fish lips/sucking in of her cheeks thing lately. Here is a small version of it. 

Buggy took these pictures of Peaches discovering mashed potatoes. I think she's starting to outgrow the lactose intolerance. We make sure to give her a small amount of dairy each day (as her doctor recommended) to help her build up a tolerance for it.

Yum!

Auntie Karen sent a Halloween treat packages. They were so happy!

Buggy has American history this year. She made these clay finger puppets of a Pilgrim and an Indian.

The jog-a-thon for Awana is a fundraiser for us to build up our scholarship fund so low-income kids who can't afford books and dues can still attend. We try to encourage the kids to participate in the fundraiser by offering a prize for the highest earner for each age group. Boo won for Sparks! She was so happy! And has gotten a lot of use out of her new scooter already!

Wordless Wednesday

Snow!

 We had a really early first snow this year...back in mid-October, and a really early sticking snow too at the beginning of November. We had 3 or 4 inches when we woke up on a Sunday morning. Peanut was happily making snowballs while walking into church. :)

As soon as lunch was eaten they were jumping into their snowsuits to head out and play. 

 

They started making a snowman, but it never got completed. 

 

I'm not sure how long they lasted because the babysitter came so we could go work on the house. 

 Peanut spent almost two hours playing by herself in the backyard the next day while Bug and Boo were doing schoolwork. She had a ball.

Snow is always so pretty but I was thankful that this round melted and we've had more fall-like weather the last few weeks. I'll be perfectly happy if the snow stays away until Christmas. :)

Turkey Bingo

At the beginning of November we got to go to Turkey Bingo! The girls love it, and this year was extra fun because we invited the G family to go with us!

The girls had fun showing their friends the ropes of Turkey Bingo.

The favorite is always the paddles.

And A won! They were all so excited!

Peaches had a grand old time.

We bought a LOT of paddles and never got anything. We tried for one last round and bought 7 paddles (out of 20) hoping to finally win. You can tell by Peanut's face that we didn't. Haha!

The little ones had fun playing with some empty boxes that were behind us.

Squish!

The girls were getting tired so Noni and Papa took them back to the house to get ready for bed while T, Bug, and I finished up our bingo cards. When all was said and done, Papa, K, and I all got bingos so we came away with two turkeys, a ham, and sack of potatoes. Not too bad for an evening of fun in support of a good cause!

Arts and Crafts

Thankfully Noni is really good about doing arts and crafts with the girls because that is not my forte. Unless it is school related we don't do it. They love making crafts at Noni's and always have a great time. Here are some amazing mosaics they made the other day. They weren't even using patterns!

 Noni also had a turkey craft for them. Even Peaches got to participate. :)

So fun!

 

Here is a model of the ocean floor Bug made during Science. She was supposed to include all the different parts like an ocean trench, abyssal plain, underwater volcano, and a bunch of other stuff.

 

Boo had to do an oil pastel of an animal. She chose this fish as her model...

And her artwork.

And speaking of school. Boo and one other student were chosen to do a reading for the school Veteren's assembly out of all the 2nd and 3rd graders! We were so proud of her! She ended up having to read the Pledge of Allegiance and she was loud and clear. There was one little bobble, but she did awesome!

Leftover Thursday

Daddy had a conference in Seattle the other day so I helped the girls make a huge fort and let them sleep in it when he was gone. 

They love making forts!

They let Peaches come in the next morning. She was SOOO happy!

But unfortunately she was hit by a sudden urge to go to the bathroom. This picture cracked me up!

The first frost..."Mommy the roof turned white!"

Wordless Wednesday

Library

The girls LOVE the library. I think they could go there every day if I would let them...and stay for hours! 

We usually only go once a month to swap out books, but Buggy had a research paper to do that required book sources (not Internet) so we headed down one day after nap. She chose to write about Giant Pandas and gathered her resources while the rest looked at books and played.

I love that my girls are bookworms like me!

 

Well...Peaches isn't yet, but I'm working on it! :) 

She loves the toys at the library...especially this caterpillar. 

These are super fun too though!

This is one of my favorite outfits on her and I love putting her hair in a sprout pony!

Pumpkin Carving

Not sure how this got posted after the Halloween stuff, but here goes...

Our annual pumpkin carving was a success! MUCH better than last year. :P

Daddy helped the girls find patterns online and printed them out.

The girls poked away at their patterns to prep for cutting.

Buggy dug right into her pumpkin. A far cry from the way she used to get squeamish at the "guts".

 

I let Peaches paint her pumpkin to get in on the fun.

She LOVED it!

And of course had a great time finger painting her plate after I took the pumpkin.

Peanut wanted to paint a soccer ball. I tried to make a pentagon pattern for her to trace, but it obviously wasn't perfect. :P

And the finished product of the carvers! I especially loved T's Gru. So fun!
