Happy Friday! :) 

A Visit!

 Noni did chapel the week that Pawpaw was here so he got to see the girls' school and see Boo lead as the Chaplain!

 

 

Peaches went with them. 

 

 

The girls loved showing Pawpaw their kitties when he came to our house. 

 

 

 

And T got to show off his shop. :) They're discussing the lighting options here.

 

 

 While Pawpaw was here Aunt J and Auntie E were on an Alaskan cruise! When they finished up they got to stop by and see us for about 36 hours. We went over there the night before they left and had dinner and played games!

 

 

And Auntie E worked a puzzle with the littles.

 

Ta da!

 It was a quick trip but so nice to see them! 

 

 

 

We always love time with the family!! Can't wait til next time! 

 

Mother's Day!

 We had an extra special Mother's Day this year because Pawpaw was visiting us! He hasn't been able to visit for a long time, so it was really fun to have him here and get to show him our house and all we've done. 

Unfortunately we had a tummy bug running through the family for most of the ten days he was here so we didn't get to see him as much as we would have liked. But he and Noni, Papa, and Mama did get to come over for lunch after church both Sundays. We just kept the sick-at-the-moment girl upstairs. All five of them took turns being sick for over a week. :(

 

 

 We had a Mexican food lunch for Mother's Day and then opened presents. We got Noni a gardening kneeler/seat.

 

 

Bug had seen it somewhere and decided Noni needed it. :)

 

 

We got Mama a card shuffler! I didn't even know they made such a thing until we saw them at the Senior center last year when we did the girls piano recital there.

 

 

T and the girls got me the Lego Mona Lisa, and some faux flower hanging baskets that I'd been wanting to try so I don't have to water them every day.

 

 

I think they are really pretty and you can't even tell they are fake unless you look really close.

 

 

We had to get some 4 generation pictures! 

 

 

We are so blessed!

 

 

 

And we are so thankful for all the wonderful Mother's in our lives! 

 

Awards Night!

 It's hard to believe another year of AWANA has come and gone! Some years seem faster than others and this was definitely one of them! 

Lou did a wonderful job in her first year of Sparkys! She passed her book and got her first Sparky award!

 

 

Her teacher gave all the kids sweet gift bags. 

 

 

 

Great job Lou!!

 

 

The big girls sat at the back waiting their turn to go up. :)

 

 

This was Bug's first year leading a group and she did a wonderful job with her 3rd-6th grade girls! She had to get up and say a bit about each girl, and did a great job. Peanut also helped out in her group for part of the night and then was with the 1st graders for the other part.

 

 

Peaches had Ms. J as a leader and did a wonderful job keeping up with her verses. She got her first T&T book award!

 

 Such a sweet group of girls! Boo also led a group this year but because of sports conflicts taking her girls away she only ended up with one regular girl. They still had a great time and Boo said some sweet things about her.

 

 

 

This year the teens did their own lesson in the first half hour of the night and then they went to help in their groups for the other hour. I don't know why the boys were gone this night but it was only girls up there for awards. We are so proud of our girls and how well they serve Jesus every week.

 

 

 Pastor J gave a nice speech about how proud he was of these girls and how hard they worked all year with the kids. He does such a good job discipling these kids and teaching them to be servants of the Kingdom! 

 

 

 I can't believe this was Bug's last year of AWANA! If she volunteers next year it will be as an adult!

 

 

What a wonderful night celebrating all that these kiddos accomplished this year!

 

 

 We are very proud of all our girls!

Birthday Fun!

 Bug's birthday was a little different this year. It was on a Sunday and her Senior trip was Friday through Monday but they were only about two hours away so she took her own car and on Sunday we met up with her at a bowling alley. 

We picked up F on the way and his parents and brother met us there.

 

 

We got two lanes and split into groups of serious bowlers and those just having fun, haha.

 

 

It was all the men and K and then the rest of us. :)

 

 

We had bumpers, thankfully, and used them quite frequently, haha. Lou also used the bowling helper most of the time.

 

 

And got so excited when she got more than a few pins down!

 

 

 

We had a great time!

 

 

After bowling we drove to a nearby Crackle Barrel and had dinner, and then after dinner we went outside and let her open her presents. First we had to sing happy birthday to her. :)

 

 

Peanut and I had spent hours the day before attempting to make macaroons...it didn't exactly work...the dough part failed, but we used most of the frosting to make what was basically meringue cookies and then put the rest of the frosting and fresh raspberries in between them. It was an attempt to recreate the raspberry macaroons from Disneyland that Bug loved so much. :)

 

 

Bug got lots of great presents! Peanut got her earrings from an anime show she and F are into.

 

 

The other girls got her clothes, and more jewelry.

 

 

She also got some jewelry from aunts and uncles.

 

 

There was quite a bit of chaos with the other girls running around and rocking in the restaurant chairs. 

 

 

Never a dull moment with these turkeys!

 

 

Bug got lots of birthday money too! I think she will put it towards a new phone. Hers has been dying really quickly, but they won't let us replace the battery because it is not under "80% of it's life". It was a refurbished phone that we bought her two years ago, and is many models back so I guess it's just getting old. Lou got her some athletic shorts she'd asked for.

 

 

I didn't think her "big present" from us was very exciting, but I guess I was wrong! She was VERY excited! 

 

 

They are expensive shoes that I guess all the nurses wear. They are supposed to be very comfortable and good for long shifts. I told her it was a very adult present and she came right back with, "And a good box! I think I should keep this box!" Haha.

 

 

What a wonderful day celebrating our Buggy Bear! I still can't believe she's an adult!
