Picinics and Swinging

   

We go out to the farmhouse every chance we get. Usually that only ends up being one night a week and for a few hours on the weekends. If we have a free weeknight I pack a picnic dinner and we head out as soon as T gets off work. He was joking the other day that all we've done is secure the world's most expensive picnic spot. Haha :)

He and I usually eat in the car on the way out, but the girls always eat on the back steps. Grandma and Grandpa had bought a swing for Boo's birthday last year that we meant to put up in the basement and never did so a couple weeks ago we took it out to the farmhouse and Daddy put it up. They were so excited! I had to get a little video of some of the goofiness. :)

So funny.

 

 I don't know if he put this rope there for the purpose of swinging or climbing, but it works for both. :)

 

 

Peanut still needs help to get going, but her sisters were happy to oblige.

 I think this is the first time Peaches had ever been out of her car carrier in the house! She usually takes a nap in the car while we work, but this time she was awake. 

We are done with the removal of the lath and plaster so it's not a dusty mess in there anymore. Now we just need to remove some of the walls, and T is already starting to re-frame some of them where we want them to be.  It's slow going since we only get a few hours work done each week, but it's fun to already start seeing a little big of progress!

Leftover Thursday

 Sniff sniff...

The girls LOVE buffets! They have been begging to go to Golden Corral ever since we mentioned that it was a buffet. One Sunday we were headed into town so we caved in and took them. It was everything they hoped it would be. It was pretty crowded even at 2 in the afternoon. Boo and Peanut hardly ate any food but of course wanted to try all the desserts. Since it was a special occurrance we let them try a little of several different things. This picture pretty much sums up the excitement. I think this was the look on all their faces when they saw the chocolate fountain. Haha :)

Boo's chore chart. Bug and I had filled it out for her but she added the last one. :) 

Bug made a birch bark basket in her Native American art study so she wanted to dress E up at a Native American. She found a brown shirt, brown pants, and made fringed hand and foot wear to go with the poncho she'd already made. :)

 

Then Peanut wanted to put the poncho on her head. She looks SO grown up here!

Mama's favorite thing to do...rock babies. :)

Sometimes when I'm changing Peaches' diaper I stick a book in the table for her to look at. She'll stare at it intently for as long as I leave it there.

December 18th

The girls like to play "Noni and her sisters" because there are three of them. One night at Noni's they were talking and K said, "I'm Auntie J!" (birth order) S said, "I'm Auntie Karen!" (again birth order) and Noni is the baby but Peanut instead yelled out, "I'm Uncle K!" 

December 20th 

We bought Peanut some new church shoes. I put them on her and she gasped, "I am adorable!" 

December 23rd

We saw a huge moose in a field when we were driving home from Noni and Papa's. We slowed down to look at it.  It was the biggest moose I'd ever seen. Peanut was so excited! "Maybe the moose has babies! That's the BIG Daddy moose! Ohh! Maybe the Mommy moose is going shopping!" 

January 2nd

This was when we had the fruit/vegetable baby ticker up on the blog and Noni and the girls had made a butternut squash baby. She was carrying it around like a baby when she accidentally dropped it with a big thunk. Boo yelled, "Whoa! You can't do that with a baby!" Peanut crossly retorted, "It's NOT a baby! It's a punkin'!" 

January 8th

Driving through one of the small towns around here, "Wouldn't it be funny if we sneaked into someone's house without asking?!" The rest of us, "Uhh...NO!"

Waking up Happy!

Presents

These pictures are over a month old but...my sweet friend O gave Peaches a baby present and thoughtfully sent the girls each a present too! They were SO excited! 

 

Even more so when they opened it and found Easter craft kits! They LOVE doing crafts and I'm really bad about getting things together for them to do. :P

 

Thankfully these were all inclusive, so all we had to do was open them up and follow the directions. :)

So fun! They had a great time decorating them and proudly displayed them all through Easter!

Reading

Some things just make my heart happy. This is one of them.

 

 

I love watching the girls read to their baby sister. 

So sweet. 

They love to take care of her when I need to make breakfast or fold laundry.

And I'm pretty sure she loves it too.
