Spring Break! - Part 2

I figured we should at least have one outing over spring break so on Wednesday we went to town and headed to Barnes and Nobel. We are so crazy busy that we never get time to go shopping any more so we still had the Christmas gift cards from Uncle J and Aunt H to spend. The girls LOVE Barnes and Nobel and could probably stay there for hours! 

  

As it was we spent just over an hour there before needing to check out and head to our next location. Here they are with their picks...thank you Uncle J and Aunt H!

 

 

 We met up with Auntie N, Cousin K, and Grandma for lunch at our favorite sandwich shop, and then afterwards we headed to the farm for the afternoon. They loved playing with K and hanging out. It went by too quickly and they all wished we could spend the night, but they had play practice they couldn't miss.

 

 

 We had to make a quick stop at Costco on the way home to pick up supplies for the cast party that I volunteered to head up. 

 

  

 

Another night we had homemade pizza and games.

 

  

 

And the little ones got to spend one night at Noni's.

 

 

They have seven new babies!

 T was planning to take the day off on Friday to work on the shop but we woke up to this...

 

 

 

So he went ahead to work. Peaches had a play date with a friend so he was able to drop her off and save me a trip. 

 

The next day Peanut had a birthday party to go to and the mom sent me this picture.

 

 

All in all it was a very relaxed spring break. I definitely enjoyed the down time! Now to finish out the next 6 busy weeks until summer! 

Spring Break! - Part 1

 We had a very mellow spring break. I think the girls could have stood a little more excitement but I thought it was so nice not to have to rush rush everywhere for a whole week! 

We got out the Farming Game and kept it out all week, playing an hour here or there when we had the chance.

 

 

April Fool's Day came over the break. Peaches and Lou pulled the old switching out the pictures in the frames trick. :)

 

 

Peanut gave me an idea to pull on them...I put tape over the top of the ketchup and honey mustard bottle so that when they tried to squeeze it nothing came out. :P

 

 

 

These two were being super goofy with all their sisters home to witness their antics. 

Peanut's joke on them was the food coloring on the faucet I did a few years ago. She took a video of them on the family phone and then we couldn't figure out how to transfer it so we used my phone to video her screen so the quality is pretty poor but you get the idea.

 

 Unfortunately for Bug their trick on her was to put Buddy (who she is NOT a fan of) outside her door and knock and then run away...at 9 in the morning on one of the only days she was able to sleep in. She wasn't super happy about that. :P But thankfully that was the worst of the pranks and nothing else was too disturbed. :)

 

We've had so much going on the past few months that Boo finally got to have her special day with Noni! They went shopping and out to lunch and had a wonderful time together! 

 

 

And they got donuts as a treat for everyone else!

 

 

 

The little ones were thrilled about that!

 Jax is such a funny dog. He knows that T is the only one who will roughhouse with him so he doesn't even try with anyone else but the slightest provocation from T will result in this...

 

 

This is gross and fascinating at the same time. This is what happens when you shake the box of Buddy's superworms.

 

 

Bug saw this trick online and wanted to try it with Lou. She didn't get hurt but they definitely flipped her faster than they were expecting, haha.

Leftover Thursday

 A few days before Easter we went to library story time and found that Ms D had set up an egg hunt in the library! The girls were so excited!

 

 

It was really cute. There were eggs all through the shelves, including some up higher for the bigger kids.

 

 

There was candy in most of them and a dollar in some!

 

 

Aunt K took this picture when she was here...Mama working on her cards. She makes cards year round to send to Aunt K's church and they give them out as part of their prison ministry. I would love to know how many people have been blessed by her cards...I wouldn't be surprised if it's up in the thousands after all these years!

 

 

 

Pastor S took the juniors and seniors to a cathedral as a field trip for his bible class which is studying church history right now. Bug is right in the middle of this picture.

 

 

Lou declared, once again, that it was Baba's birthday...which it seems to be every time she wants cake. Haha. I got smart this time and wrote it down so now Baba's birthday is officially April 8th and we will not be celebrating for another year...and maybe on his half birthday. :)

Egg Hunt!

 Since Papa and Mama weren't able to come this year Noni and I helped Grandpa and Daddy hide the eggs. We got another couple dozen to add to our bin of eggs and I still didn't count but I'm pretty sure we have a couple hundred to hide! We made them close their eyes and did a countdown.

 

 

Ready set go!

 

 

Boo had trouble getting her basket off her head. Haha.

 

 

We had a beautiful sunny day for Easter! It was gorgeous!

 

 

Grandma sat on the patio in the sunshine to watch the kids hunt. It was so pretty out.

 

 

We had SO many eggs, they were everywhere!

 

 

Lou had so much fun!

 

 

Boo's competitive streak kicked in and she found the most by far!

 

 

They ran all over the property multiple times.

 

 

I had to help Peaches get one up high. :)

 

 

 I missed Peanut hunting eggs. She must not have come around to where I was. After they found most of them they came inside to sort their loot.

 

 

Boo stayed out the longest and found so many she was shoving them in her pockets and down her shirt until she was a walking maraca. With every step you could hear all the candies rattling. Haha.

 

 Quite the candy haul! Peaches made this pretty rainbow. 

 

 

 

And of course we ended up finding eggs for weeks to come. Jax found lots and ate all the candy. Haha. I really do need to do a count next year!

Happy Easter!

 Easter morning we got ready and then let the girls open their baskets. Boo had been pretty sick the day before so we let her sleep.

 They got the usual chocolate bunnies, peeps, a few toys, some hair things, a new dress, and sandals for the little ones.

 

 

We headed to church where Lou gave hugs to Grandma S.

 

 

Ms J had the kids do a poem and a song.  

 

 

I knew about the poem but the song was a surprise!

 

 

Great job kids!!

 

When we got home Boo was feeling much better. I made her open her Easter basket so I could take a picture. She was pretending to be super shocked. Haha!

 

 

 We got a few pictures before everyone changed. The little ones were the only ones who wanted theirs taken.

 

 

But the rest obliged me with a family picture. :)

 

 

 Grandma, Grandpa, and Noni were able to join us for lunch.

 

 

Then it was time for the egg hunt! Pictures tomorrow!
