 The girls came up with this number the other day. We're so proud of their musical abilities. Haha.

Farmhouse Update!

 T has really been knocking out the last of the house projects in the last few months! He spent several weekends getting all the beams wrapped and they look AMAZING! I am so happy with how they turned out!

He's also been working on all the trim and door frames and I am happy to say that it is all done! We now have a completed house! The only things left on our list is some cabinets for Lou's bathroom, a door of some sort to block off the septic pump in the basement, and a built in cabinet in the family room for movies. Other than that we are DONE! It feels so weird to say that after five and half years of living here!

And here is the motivation for all that industry....T has broken ground on his shop site!

Gymnastics Show!

 Peanut, Peaches, and Lou got to be part of their first gymnastics show! They were nervous and excited! They posed for some pictures before they needed to check in.

 

 

Peanut did not want to do the backdrop. :P

Happy Birthday Daddy!

 Since T's birthday was on a Monday we had our good friends over the Sunday before for dinner, playing for the kids, and Pinochle for the adults. We celebrated with a Dairy Queen ice cream which the kids were super excited about...and the adults too for that matter. Haha.

 

 

The day of his actual birthday Boo had a basketball game that was closer to Grandpa and Grandma's house than ours. Unfortunately Grandpa was sick but Grandma got to come Uncle W, Auntie N, and cousins W and M. The littles literally ran in circles jumping on and off this mat the entire game! In between quick climbs on the wall.

 

 

It was a hard fought game, but they lost. We found a pizza place nearby and had fun dinner together.

 

 

Then it was home for a late present opening. Daddy got a Mariners jersey from Peanut.

 

 

A little power pack for jump starting his pickup which dies a lot, from Boo, a "cooling memory foam pillows" from Lou, and Hey Dudes from Peaches and Bug.

 

 

My gift was a bit more complicated...years ago when he was at his first job and I was nannying. We had a very strict budget and when they started coming out with the big Lego buildings we really couldn't afford it. He really wanted the first one, called The Green Grocer, but we just couldn't spend that much money on toys. 

 

A few years later he became a CFO and was able to buy a lot of the buildings that came out, but by then the Green Grocer had been discontinued and could only be bought on eBay for $650 or more. It has always been the one that got away and we have referred to it over the past 15 years as "The Green Grocer Incident". 

 

A few months ago I heard T talking about how Uncle B and Cousin E had gotten a parts list from a discontinued Lego set and hunted down all the pieces and built it themselves. I messaged Cousin E in December to ask if that would be possible with the Green Grocer and he went to work on it. He found almost all of the pieces, with a few substitutes, from six different Lego sellers for me and got them all ordered!

 

 

T was very surprised!

 

 

The girls have heard this story many times so they were excited that he finally got the elusive Green Grocer! We are waiting on one more package and then he can finally build it! A dream 18 years in the making. Haha! Definitely worth it for our wonderful Daddy-O!

 

 

Papa's birthday was the next day! We did presents and cake with him when we went to piano lessons.

We got him a heater for his desk in the shop.

 

 

Boo had another game that night so he and Noni went to that while we went to gymnastics and we all met up back at our house for a dinner of Panda Express later. It was a wonderful three days of birthday celebrations! 

Lou Laughs - Part 10

 December 30th

I told her, for the third time, "Please keep your feet off my seat!" D: "I'm trying! My feet won't listen! C'mon feet!"

January 10th

She has started doing this funny thing at meals...if it's something she thinks looks good to eat (in this case pancakes) she will dramatically say, "Come to me, pancakes!" and take a big bite with a chomp.

February 24th

The littles were at Walmart with Noni and she was letting them look at the toy section. D: "Can I buy this?" Noni: "Well, maybe you can do some chores and earn money to buy it. You could pick up pine cones for me. Lou was somewhat distracted and said, "I really would rather have this toy....I don't want a pine cone."

April 12th

Lou: "Alexa! Play Sucker!" The song comes on. One of the lines is "I'm a sucka for you". I said, "I don't know if this is a good song to listen to." She said, "Mommy! This is a great song! I picked it because it is about suckers and suckers are YUMMY!" 

May 4th

Bug's birthday...Bug was letting her help with the present opening. She picked up the new cell phone and in a growly voice said, "I like your phone! I'm going to mess with it!" 

May 9th

Noni told me about this...Shadow grabbed the finger pointer that Noni uses during piano lessons and ran away with it. Lou ran after her to save it. She sadly walked back into the room with the chewed up end held high. "Noni, Shadow pen-tent-ly loves your pointer." She meant apparently.

May 10th

Me: "You need to work on not jumping on people. Her: "I know! I'm just so des-cited! And I want a ride!"

May 19th

She was looking at a garbage bin at Subway when she said, "Mommy! That person is wasting! That person is throwing away blueberries and that is WASTING! Right?!"
