Texas!

 Sunday morning we said our goodbyes to some of the family and went to church with Aunt K. Then we went out to lunch with her, Uncle S, and Aunt J before making the drive back to Dallas.

I got this picture for the girls of Uncle S's albino miniature catfish.

 

 

We went for a walk with Aunt J. It was nice to be out of the super cold weather, enjoying some Spring weather.

 

 

Then Uncle S and Aunt J took Noni and I to an amazing Italian dinner. I'm getting hungry just looking at this picture!

 

 

Then he took us to see his office! Uncle S has always been more like my little brother than my cousin so it felt so strange to see him all grown up as a big fancy lawyer with his own high rise office! I'm so proud of him! He has worked MANY long and hard years to get here and it was wonderful to see the result of all that time and effort firsthand! SO proud!!

 

I thought the lobby of his building was really cool too. 

 

 

The next day Aunt J took us shopping and out to lunch at Rosa's before we had to be at the airport. Of course I had to get some sopapillas and tortillas to take home!

 

 

After we left the ranch another sheep had a set of twins and abandoned one of them so Aunt K got a bottle lamb!

 

 

 

Meanwhile T was doing a great job holding down the fort. It's nice that the girls are getting old enough to take care of themselves and help out with the house and the meals.

 

 

AND while I was gone T was working on a big surprise! He finished the ceiling of the basement bathroom! I've been wanting to tackle this project for YEARS and thought we would have to do a regular drop ceiling with the foam square tiles so we could get to the plumbing if needed, but he came up with this adorable wood and sheetrock farmhouse version that I've never seen before but LOVE! It's beautiful!!!

 

 

After I got home I made up all my Rosa's tortillas into breakfast tacos. I eat one on Sunday mornings when I'm in a hurry to get ready for church. It's my weekly treat and I had just run out a few weeks before so it was perfect timing.

 

 

When they were cleaning out some of Nana's things Noni saved two pairs of boots for Boo and Peanut since they are her size. Boo wore hers to school the day after we got home.

 

I'm thankful they have those as a little remembrance of Nana. It's never easy to lose someone but we truly are happy that Nana is no longer in pain and is dancing up in heaven. We know we will see her again some glorious day!!
