Bug had spent hours that week making the girls a paper mache soccer ball pinata. She even stopped at the store one day after school and got candy to put inside. When we got home from soccer she tied it to a broom and let them all have a turn whacking it.
I think it was Boo who finally bust it open.
Then it was time to open presents! She got lots of great things. We gave her jeans, shorts, a couple pairs of shoes, and socks.
Lou and Peaches picked out this squishmallow crab for her. :)
T and I got her a nice cross necklace and birthstone ring.
Grandma and Grandpa got her some watercolor paper and new brushes, and she got clothes from Mama, Aunt N and Uncle M. She got birthday money from Aunt K, Uncle K and Aunt J, and Uncle J and Aunt H.
Daddy found two little ponies with braids for reins.
She was super excited about these socks from Aunt D and Uncle W. Apparently they are these great socks for outdoorsy people that keep your feet warm and dry somehow and they even have a lifetime guarantee. They are called Darn Tough socks. I had never heard of them before but she was super happy!
Lou and I baked a carrot cake for her and she frosted it and made these adorable little carrots.
We didn't eat the cake until the next night because right after we did presents her boyfriend picked her up and they went out to dinner and a movie. When they got back Boo and Peanut went into the hot tub with them. The littles were already in bed by then. It was a pretty mellow birthday but she enjoyed it...I guess a true sign that she's growing up!
Here we are singing Happy birthday to her the next day when we ate the cake.
Hard to believe we have a 17 year old!
