Since we were all healthy we went ahead and did our annual elves baking day for the hospital workers. Except I made them wait to do the elf part until later that night. Haha. We had a short window to get everything done in because Peanut had a birthday party to get to. We had them all wear gloves while handling the treats.
I actually didn't end up helping much at all because I spent most of my time trying to keep Lou out of everything, and then driving Peanut to her party.
She got to help with the first dozen batches before we left.
We were going for 250 bags...I don't think we got that many. Probably around 220. We make more and more every year and somehow we still have trouble hitting that 250 mark. However the 250 is the total hospital employees and a lot of those are supplemental so it covers all the full time workers and those that are there around the holidays.
We did 28 boxes of Chex this year. I think we'll have to up it to 30 next year!
Because of Covid we weren't able to go up to the hospital and distribute them like usual so the girls packed them into boxes for Daddy to take on his own.
Here are a couple of pictures I got from my friend during the party. It was a painting party and the birthday girl's Uncle did a tutorial for them on how to paint this picture!
I thought they turned out so well!! Way to go Peanut!
They made a tower of boxes before we burned them. :)
And when we were finally all done I let them do the Elf Yourself...which they did for almost an hour! Here are a couple pictures of them. So funny.
And Peanut showed us all how to draw the cute panda. She had so much fun at the party!
Hopefully next year we'll be able to deliver treats again and bring some extra holiday cheer to the hospital!
