Hittin’ the open road! Our 2nd day was supposed to be 9 hours but it turned into 10+ with the traffic through Denver, even with the faster toll road loop. What is the deal there?!? Both times we went through we had hour + delays. We would be inching along and would finally come upon an accident that was slowing everyone down, and it wouldn’t even be on our side of the road! I would seriously consider flying next time (which I really don’t like!) just to avoid this area. It is insanely busy with crazy drivers!
After sitting in traffic for a while we stopped at a Chik-Fil-A for a snack and play break. Thankfully we had an uneventful visit, unlike last time.
We finally made it to Colorado Springs and got to have dinner with Uncle Jason and Aunt Heather! It was so nice to see them, even though it was a brief visit.
We got to stay at a base that night. Our base stays were SO NICE because with three kids they gave us two bedroom units every time! One room would have a set of twin beds which was perfect for Bug and Boo, and then Noni insisted on staying on the hide-a-beds with Peanut so I could get a good night sleep in the other room. Those were definitely my only good sleeps. Haha :)
