Shopping!

On the morning of our last full day Buggy woke up still feeling pretty miserable.  We discussed several options but in the end Noni graciously volunteered to stay back with her so the rest of us could do some souvenir shopping.  Bug had hardly eaten ANYTHING in days and must have lost several pounds.  Her little hip bones were poking out.  Poor baby.

We left her in good hands and took off for the stores. There is a really fun tourist shop called Alvin’s Island (actually there’s 5 of them right there on the beach strip!) and one of them had live gators.

Boo and Peanut thought that was pretty great!

Peanut found a selection of balls and Uncle Sean tried to play catch/roll with her.  She just watched the ball roll past with a look of delighted confusion.  It was SO funny!  I got a video but it doesn’t quite capture the pure-joy-yet-no-idea-what-to-do.  Haha :)

After hitting a couple of stores we went to lunch at Pineapple Willies.  It was a fun spot right on the beach.  Their outdoor seating is actually on a covered pier.  What a fun place! 

And they had great food too!  Sean and I split another seafood platter and this time I tried oysters for the first time!  They tasted pretty good but it was hard to get past the slimy texture! 

You can tell how much more crowded at this section of the beach where all the huge high-rise hotels were.  The umbrellas were three rows deep and inches away from each other!

When we got back Buggy was FINALLY feeling better!  Yay!  We put A down for a nap and had the bigger two rest a while longer, and then we hit the beach for one last playtime in the sand!

It’s hard to see but T and Sean were playing football out in the waves.  I was continually amazed that you could go out a hundred feet and still be knee deep in places.

The girls were happy to spend one last evening in the sand and water.

We were sad to see our last night come to an end.

But so happy for our week at the beach and for this awesome couple and their new life together!
