Thankfully the girls were still feeling good the morning after the wedding so we got dressed and headed to Gulf World to meet Aunt Jody, Pawpaw, and Nana.
Right away we ran into this sign so all three had to take a turn being a turtle. :)
We found a pond of fish first. You can see the leftover wedding hair…
Bug and Boo liked the fish and small turtles but were ready to move on to the bigger attractions. Peanut on the other hand wasn’t quite ready to leave! She was SO excited to see all the pretty fish. This kid LOVES animals of every kind!
Then we checked out a few of the nurse sharks…
And a 400+ pound turtle!
In the middle of the tank was a set of stairs so you could view from underwater level. Peanut wanted in the windowsill and was so excited to see things swimming past.
All three had to take turns touching the shell of the sand turtles.
Peanut couldn’t quite reach on her own. :)
We hit the reptile show (gators, snakes, iguanas), the furry friends and feathers show (dogs, cats, mice, birds) and then made our way to the most impressive…the dolphin show!
It’s SO amazing what they teach these dolphins to do!
My favorite tricks were the ones involving people. One girl rode (standing up) on the backs of two dolphins, and several girls were tossed into the air. So fun!
Peanut found this little guy in the reptile area. It seemed as if he were waving at her and trying to give her high fives! She, of course, loved that!

Our final show was the rough tooth dolphin/sea lion show. These dolphins had lots of great tricks too.
But it was the sea lions that made us laugh! I thought this was impressive…a 500+ pound sea lion balancing on his front flippers!
They had a little skit where they were doing a face off to see which was better, dolphins or sea lions and in the end they “kissed and made up”.
T thought these guys were funny. Like the Madagascar penguins, “Act natural boys. Act natural.”
What a fun bunch of memories!
