Happy 4th!

We had such a great 4th!  On Tuesday we dropped the girls off at Noni’s so Boo could get a good nap while I went to my check-up.  Dr says that baby is measuring great and has her head down already!  We did a little shopping and then Noni and Papa brought the girls to us so we could head out to the farm. 

This was the first time all the cousins had been together since Christmas and they had so much fun!  I barely saw Bug at all since she was off doing all sorts of fun things.

They all play so nicely together but I noticed a few times that they had split up and the girls were off doing one thing while the two boys were doing another.  But at other times the three older ones would go off and play and the “babies” (that are not so much babies anymore) would play together.  I’m so thankful that my girls have cousins close to their age.  My own cousins are my best friends in the world and I hope that it will be the same for these kiddos!

Silly girls. :)  We went to Carter’s to pick out a take-home outfit for baby girl and found a great pajama sale so the girls were sporting their new jammies.

We let the kids stay up late and do fireworks on Tuesday night since we had to head home for bed on the actual 4th.

But then she started getting really excited and was thrilled to watch the daddies lighting them all.

I tried to get a video of her excitement, but I never quite got a good one.  She is not one to jump up and down with excitement like her sister, but on this occasion she did.  She could hardly stand still she was so happy. 

The kids had a wonderful day of playing together.  Boo, after staying up late and waking up early, took a three hour and twenty minute nap so she was in fine form and ready to go by BBQ time!

I let Bug stay up, but she was so excited she was running on adrenaline.  When she stays up like that she gets super-hyper…even for her…and is literally bouncing off the walls.

It wasn’t dark at all after dinner but we let them get the fireworks back out since we had to leave soon.   Grandma had bought a whole bunch and let each kid pick out “their” firework and then Uncle Wade would light if off for them.

We needed to get an updated cousins picture.  S and E weren’t able to come to last year’s 4th so our previous one from two years ago looked like this…

Since Bug had also stayed up late, woken up early, AND missed her nap she was exhausted.  As soon as we got in the car she started to fade.  She managed to stay awake for a bit, but eventually conked out about halfway home.

Boo was tired too, but she talked almost the entire way home…an hour and twenty minutes.  At the end she finally got quiet when she started sucking her thumb. :)

They both fell asleep right away when we got home even though there were huge, loud fireworks going off in town until after midnight.  They both slept in till 9 this morning!

What a fun 4th!  Thanks for having us Grandma and Grandpa!
