Memorial Day

We went to Noni and Papa's for a Memorial Day BBQ. Noni and Papa made a delicious meal, and we ate outside and tried to social distance as much as possible. We also used paper plates and plastic utensils so they could just be thrown away.

After dinner we got to see the 15 new baby chicks they had just gotten.

Baby chickens is one of those smells for me that transports me straight back to childhood and the Texas ranch that has been in my family for generations.

The girls loved them just as much as I always did.

Lou was very excited.

"Oooo! Buhd!" (bird)

So excited she squealed with glee and ripped a pinch of feathers out of one of their heads. :P Poor chickie.

Peaches was SO happy!

And of course Peanut, our animal lover, would have been happy to sit there and hold them all day.

Daddy named this one Gregory Peck. Haha.

They each claimed one as their own although I have no idea how they tell them apart.

After the chick fun we let them run and play a while before we had to leave.

It was a sweet night!
