Dance Recital!

The girls were so sad to miss their dance recital by just 6 days after working for nearly 3 months! It was really tough to end so abruptly and so close to recital. They love dance so much and really missed their teachers and friends. They didn't even get to say goodbye since we didn't know their last classes would be the last. I felt especially bad for the one senior in Bug's ballet class. She is such a sweet girl and Bug has loved dancing with her the last couple of years. She sent out a sweet email to her classmates, saying goodbye and thanking them for the years of dancing with her. :(

I guess we had to give it some distance before we could think about putting on a little recital like their teachers suggested. Six weeks to be exact. It was good that we waited though because the weather was pretty nice and we were able to have an outdoor recital at Noni and Papa's house! Grandma and Grandpa weren't able to come, but they were still excited to show off their moves! 

We went all out and did hair and makeup just like it was a "real" recital. We took pictures in front of Noni's pretty pink bush.

Noni and Papa had set up a viewing area for us...so sweet.

We started with Buggy's Pointe.

Peanut's tap. She was supposed to have a little black cane with white ends, so Papa went and found her the perfect sized dowel that she was able to use.

Peanut's Jazz. It was "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin and she had a couple of stunt moves so Boo helped her out.

After the big girls were done we let Lou have a turn. She was so happy!

Then the girls did some freestyle.

 

And took their bows.

They had so much fun and it was a great way to make the best of a bad situation. It was so fun watching them, and honestly A LOT less stressful than a "real" recital. Haha. I know they will always remember the year they gave their own personal recital!

Bug's birthday was the next day so Noni had made her cupcakes. So sweet.

 

Noni also let them choose flowers from her garden to make up a bouquet.

I still can't believe she's already a teenager!
