It seems like we dug and leveled and built and dug and leveled and built some more for weeks on end before it was finally time to pour footings! I guess it makes sense that it would be time intensive because these footings will be the foundation for the whole addition.
Grandpa came out several different days to help.
And all the girls took turns helping hold the stick or looking through the transit.
Once the forms were built the rebar had to be laid.
And then it was finally time to call in the concrete truck! Grandpa came to help.
They came the last day of VBS and were at the house at 8am so the girls got to watch for a few minutes before we left.
Peaches was so excited!
Our friend Pastor J, who was visiting from Montana, came out to help too! So nice!
T calculated several times how much concrete we would need so I'm guessing the guy didn't bring enough but they ended up ten feet short and had to hand mix and pour twenty five bags of concrete after T ran to the hardware store to pick some up. :/
But when the girls and I got back from VBS we had footings!
Hooray!
It finally feels like we're getting somewhere!
