Fair Fun

On Saturday we got to go to our county fair with our good friends the P family!  It was Peanut’s first “real” fair experience as last year she wasn’t quite into it. :) 

We have another animal lover on our hands!  At this age Boo would cry if we made her get to close to animals and she NEVER wanted to touch any, but Peanut is just like Bug in that she LOVES animals and tries as hard as she can to get her hands on them!  Her little face was so excited as we went around the animal barns!

She touched a cow, the goats, a pig, a horse, and a bunny.

Some kids were getting their animals ready to show and had vacuums set backwards to blow off any dust or dirt.  Bug was horrified when they first started to do it, thinking that they were hurting the animals who were doing their best to get away.  Once I told her they were just cleaning them she was fine.

Boo touched a few animals but she still doesn’t gravitate to them like her sisters. 

Horses were up next.

She liked them a lot, but didn’t want to touch one.

Peanut reached right in and tried to grab the horse.  He kind of nosed her hand and then moved on to something more interesting. :)

She was clapping whenever Bug would push her up to one.

The pig barns smelled the worst.  E was hilarious, pinching his nose the whole time. :)

The people showing animals are really friendly and try to let the kids pet them.

Boo didn’t want to touch one, but Daddy convinced her!

P.S. I left my camera in the car so these are all off T’s phone.  I don’t know why this one is so washed out.

At our town days a few weeks ago the girls found the face painting booth about 30 minutes before we were about to leave and it was kind of expensive so I told them they could get it done at fair.  It was much cheaper and the girl did a really good job! K was especially excited.

Boo watched intently to make sure it was okay before taking her turn.

She sat very still and let the girl paint her a “pu-pel tie-gah”

I loved her little fangs but she accidentally rubbed them off within ten minutes.  It was funny to watch the tiger slowly disappear as time went on. 

After face painting it was time for the bouncy castle!

The kids had a great time until some older kids came in and bonked poor little O in the nose.  Usually they keep the little kids and big kids separate but it was just some teenagers running it so they weren’t as careful.

Peanut didn’t get to have any fun in the kiddie area so Daddy took her on the “Drop from the Sky Ride”.  She loves being “dropped”.

Then it was time for the bunny barn. Love how Peanut is trying to see in this picture. :)

Then the girl came over and let Peanut pet the bunny which made her very happy.

The Poultry barn was last on our animal list.  There were all kinds of interesting looking chickens.

And ducks and turkeys too.

Then it was time for the best part of the fair…fried food!  I know, it’s terrible for you, but it’s sooo good.  We had a yummy lunch, and then elephant ears and ice cream for dessert! 

I love our little fair!  Thanks so much for coming with us P family!  We love spending time with you!
