Road Trip

On Wednesday we found out that Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Nae, and Waylon were going down to see the other cousins for Uncle B’s birthday.  Since we didn’t have any plans that couldn’t be changed we decided to make a spontaneous trip and join them! 

We got down there in the late afternoon on Friday and the cousins immediately started playing and having a great time.  We went out to Mexican food for Uncle B’s birthday dinner so of course we had to make him wear the big sombrero! :)

Then it was back to the house for presents and cake.

The girls wanted to have a sleepover with cousin S and after a few warnings and threats they finally went to sleep. :)  T and I could have laid out some sleeping bags in the living room, but since we had a free hotel night through a rewards program we decided to get a hotel for us and Peanut.  We met up the next morning at cousin E’s t-ball game. 

We packed the rest of the day full of garage sale-ing, shopping, riding the mechanical horse at the store…

And falling asleep in the stroller at the mall. :)

Saturday night Grandma and Grandpa volunteered to stay with all the kids so the adults could go out to dinner!  So nice!  The kids got pizza and had a great time playing, and the adults (plus Peanut) got to go to Famous Dave’s!  Yum.  They have great food!

Boo was feeling a big clingy so she went back to the hotel with us that night.  On the way back to the house yesterday morning we got a call that Bug had thrown up twice.  She didn’t seem to have the flu…must have just been something she ate, but we relaxed a bit until she felt better.  Then we made a few more stops and had lunch with everyone before climbing into the car for the ride home.  Thankfully all three girls fell asleep right away and slept almost the entire two hours home.

As we started getting closer to home it began raining and then we came upon this…

There was a light dusting of snow when we got home, and after 60 degrees and sunny that morning it felt especially cold!  It melted pretty quick though and thankfully there is no more snow in the forecast for the rest of the week!
