We went on a trip to the mountains for the 4th of July! F's parents invited us to go months ago and the girls were excited when we finally arrived. We rented an Airbnb for four days and three nights. It doesn't look that big at all from the outside, but supposedly it can sleep 30! There were rooms and a loft locked off so we couldn't see them, but according to the listing the loft has two bathrooms and can sleep 12! One of the doors that was locked was labeled "Bunk Room". For our stay there were three bedrooms and three bathrooms unlocked.
The S family took one room with a bathroom and two double beds. The three big girls took the bedroom that had one double, where Boo and Peanut slept, and a twin for Bug.
T and I shared a room with Peaches and Lou and had our own bathroom. We had a double bed, Peaches had a twin, and Lou got the other double because she's not used to sleeping without rails and I was afraid she would fall out of the twin. :)
The kids enjoyed the basketball hoop.
And there was a nice living room for relaxing.
There were dozens of games of ping pong played!
And we all had fun talking about wedding plans!
We found this giant moth!
It also had a nice sun porch.
We bought cereal for breakfasts and it was nice to sleep in and take it easy in the mornings.
On the 4th we drove to a nearby town to watch their parade.
Peanut went a little crazy with the face paint on her sisters...or leg paint I should say. Haha!
It started off with some firefighters setting off red, white, and blue smoke bombs.
I don't think I had ever been to a 4th of July parade before, but it was so fun and patriotic! Nearly everyone in the crowd was wearing red, white, and blue.
The most 'Merica ATV I've ever seen, flags, giant fireworks, and a bald eagle! Haha! :P
They didn't just throw candy! There were beads, headbands, sunglasses, hats, bouncy balls, and more! The girls loved it!
The firefighters gave them suckers.
It was super hot out so the firefighters would travel about 25 feet and then let people gather in the front and then spray them with the water! People were dancing in the street and having a great time. The girls got sprayed multiple times since it was the last thing in the parade and we were walking behind it. What a fun parade! They did a great job!
