After we left camp we grabbed pizza and made the road trip back to the airport. We kept getting texts on the way there changing our departure time...that should have been a tip off, but since it seemed so messed up we just wanted to get there and get checked in. By the time we got through security our flight was back to being delayed an hour so we settled in for a wait. Noni bought some cards in the gift shop and we played some games.
Lou bought a little horse and sat there so sweetly playing with it.
Peaches bought a Bluey sticker book and it kept her occupied for quite a while.
Peanut got a little longhorn stuffy. So cute!
We got dinner and played a few more games while our flight kept getting pushed back and pushed back.
Another plane needed to board so we switched areas and found a kid's spot. They had iPads for the little ones and they were so excited!
We started walking a loop of the airport and every time we would go back by the departures our flight would be pushed back by 6-8 minutes. Boo started taking selfies. :P
She said, "Momma you gotta do this with your lips!" Abraham approves. Lol.
We ended up waiting for FIVE hours and the little ones caught up on a weeks worth of missed computer time. :P The wait really wasn't too bad, we just wished we could have spent it outside the airport and gone to Mardells's and Rosa's instead! We finally left Texas at 10:30PM and thankfully everyone got a nap on the way to Las Vegas.
Unfortunately because of the late departure we missed our connection and they ended up sending us to a hotel in Las Vegas. We got there around midnight and it was 106 degrees! The air hit like a brick when we got outside. Thankfully Southwest was really nice about everything and gave us vouchers for taxis and two hotel rooms. Here we are waiting for T to get us checked in. Everyone was super tired.
We had to get up at Vegas 6AM but that was an hour half later than we'd been getting up all week so it felt like sleeping in. We had a quick continental breakfast and were back at the airport in no time. Thankfully we had no other major problems and arrived home around lunch. This the only picture on my phone that day. Haha.
It took us 24 hours to get home, but despite the travel troubles it was a wonderful trip and I'm so thankful for the time with family and the new fun memories made!
